I really want to add a bunch of hiking photos to my queue, but I have no idea if I should add a description of what is in the photos to each one, or link to a separate post with that description?
The hike was through a burn site where there was a wildfire, named the Butternut Fire, in 2024. The fire burned through over a thousand acres of forest, and just the edge of that fire touched the Appalachian Trail - which is where I was hiking through the burn site.
As this is the second spring since the fire, the area is currently lush and green, but there are scattered scars from the fire all over. It is really something to experience - nature healing from trauma on display all around you.
I feel kinda weird posting photos of charcoal spotted trees, some with new plants growing on them, others not, some still alive, others just husks, without some sort of description?
