Zayn:Â In life how many soul mates do people have? How many loves-of-their-lives will they meet? How can they know? Being with Zayn was something like a dream, and sometimes something like a well disguised nightmare. Perrie Edwards was beautiful, more importantly she was talented, and that kept you awake at night. He had been ready to commit his life to her, had inked her likeness on his skin, had called her the love of his life- his soul mate.You wondered often when he was whispering sweet nothings in your ear, when you were suspended somewhere between the dream and the nightmare, whether there was room left for you in his heart. She had been his everything, how could you compete with that?
Liam: He was on top of the world. A real started-from-the-bottom-now-[Iâm]-here type. But in life there are many simple truths and this is one of them, the further up you climb the further down you fall; Liam Payne knew this, feared this, more then anyone. He had spent so much of his life ridiculed, alone, grasping at straws to build a ladder off the ground. Now, now he had made it. It was going by so fast. So many plane trips, adoring fans, offersâŚdid he appreciate it enough? You. Did he appreciate you enough? Did he appreciate you enough for you  to stay? For as successful as he was now there was still the possibility that he would one day fade into obscurity, that the ladder he had finally procured would collapse with him still reaching for the next wrung. Few people had been there for him before the fame, would anyone be left after the fame? Had Liam James Payne finally proved himself to be enough or was he only worth something when attached to the âOne Directionâ brand, sometimes he wasnât sure.Â
Niall:Â You had your own aspirations, your own plans, your own band. The five of you were going to make it, without a leg up and without any kind of short cut. The work was put in, the blood, sweat, and tears; you had spent the majority of two years touring in a tiny van, with no crew, and no help. Then you met him. Everyone and anyone that managed to hold Niall Horanâs attention was fated to be googled, to be followed, to be sought after. With his positive attention and affection aimed at you you were either hated or loved. He mentioned you, your twitter followers skyrocketed; He mentioned a song by your band, your youtube subscribers went up by three thousand over night. You had wanted to make it on your own merits and your own talent, you loved Niall, but now you would never know who came to your shows for you and your band mates and who came because of who you shared a bed and a life with. You wanted to succeed, not like this though.Â
Louis: On more then one occasion, in fact on many many occasions, Louis Tomlinson could recall being labeled as âobnoxiousâ or a variant there of. He was also known to be âloudâ, ârudeâ, or if the other person was trying to be tactful, âopinionatedâ and âoutspoken.â It had never really bothered him, in fact he really couldnât be arsed into giving a fuck. But that was before he was âLOUIS TOMLINSON OF OOOOONE DIRECTION.â See that was the thing, he knew he was hard to handle, his personality was not for everyone. Before fame that wasnât an issue, the ones that liked him stuck around, the ones that didnât left. Now it seemed no matter how far he pushed, no matter how rude his statements were, or rough his behavior got no one would leave.Quite the opposite, more people clamored to be by his side. It made it hard to trust anyone around him, even you. How could he find out whose intentions were genuine and whose were fueled by ulterior motives?
Harry:Â Harry Styles was a curly haired, tattooed, enigma zipped into a tight pair of skinny jeans. While the media liked to try and predict his next move, his next outing, his next love interest, they were never very successful. For instance, they never saw you coming. You had spent the vast majority of your life nestled away in your home town then one day, because of one boy, you were launched into the spot light. It was never the attention that got to you, in a way it was nice to have so much documentation of what you were doing, your life, but this came with a catch twenty-two. As much documentation there was of you there was of the other girls that had been part of Harryâs life, and for every one of those girls that were recorded there was the potential for so many more off the record. Being with Harry meant kisses plagued with thoughts of all the other girls whom had been in your place, loving him meant knowing that others had came before you, had been made to feel by him the same things you were feeling. Though you would never admit it, it was your biggest insecurity. They had been in your place, then they had been replaced, were you just as replaceable?Â
