Awaretale is a universe very similar to normal undertale, with one major difference. Frisk is self aware. There are other small differences too, but the au is centered around the big one. Here’s my megalovania I made. I’m really proud of it.

This is the official Awaretale Sans megalovania btw.

So, it’s no surprise to anybody whose known me for more than four seconds that I love megalovania. But I don’t think it was the best choice for Sans’s battle theme.

There are headcanons and stuff about megalovania being the player’s theme or chara’s theme or something along those lines, but by that logic every single battle theme is too.

I think sans’s battle theme should have paralleled Papyrus’s in the way that Bonetrousel was a ‘better’ version of Nyeh heh heh! Sans’s battle theme should have been a ‘better’ version of sans. Like the song that might play when you fight sans. That’s essentially what it was. I don’t think stmpwyfs should have been Sans’s battle theme either though. The style is too upbeat and cheery for a genocide song.

If it were up to me, I would keep megalovania’s style but the melody would be way closer to sans. Also I’d throw some battle against a true hero/power of neo leitmotif in there too since it’s in all of the other genocide exclusive songs, and if it would fit I would try to put in a little bonetrousel.
