It's apparent that the Advisor-Historian (I'll refer them simply as Advisor for simplicity sake) has been keeping archives of countless worlds with how much books they have stored in the beginning of the game. The cycle has happened possibly for many eons where different gods would take turns creating the universe until the end of the cycle and everything is back to square one. For as long as this cycle system stands their role is set in stone as explained by Elil, the only entity that retains his memory throughout the cycles—getting to know the gods, who are candidates for the next creator, and acting as their advisor to shape their decisions and character in order to help their chance in becoming a creator. It is up to the advisor to either steer them towards a better path or for them to sink into their vices and setbacks.

According the dialouges, the Advisor appears to be unassuming at first—which is understandable as at the start they are adjusting to their responsibilities while having no prior recollection. The range of dialogue choices could potray the Advisor to have a variety of characteristics (mainly for the sake of freedom of choices for players), though at it's core the Advisor seems to be rather open minded to multiple possibilities and perspectives. Whether the choices may be more or less favorable for the development of a god, they would present the choice to be as well meaning as possible as either outcome may have a sliver of good intention for said god.

While with the majority of the gods the Advisor makes choices in order to get to know them better on top of shaping their resolve, Gnosis' approach is more different. There is only one major plot point involving them and the rest are completely optional actions—and all above involves the collected pages from the Library of Antiquety. What makes the arrangements with Gnosis unique is that the choices that the Advisor could make is for uncovering their forgotten past with the pages as the price.

Going through with this until the end reveals that the Advisor was the very one who's responsible for the entire cycle arrangement as they were the Original Creator that stood above the other gods, growing tired as the world they once reigned long ago grows stagnant and made the decision to gave the other gods the opportunity to create their own world. This may have created an inner conflict within the Advisor as the person that imposed such is either long gone or locked so deeply within their current self that has no clue on how to undo it. It doesn't matter to the grand scheme of things that they gained this awareness as after the cycle ends they would lose all this knowledge and started again from zero. I find it interesting that Elil remarked this that he finds it funny that Gnosis managed to always tempted them with these informations that's considered as scraps, hence it can be assumed that this may not be the first time it occured that the Advisor got too curious in finding out their identity and it may continue to happen as long as the Advisor keep seeking on digging for their buried identity.

Now after all that were revealed I would like to bring up an interesting driving point of the story, that is the powers of the Advisor's words. It was brought upon by Elil that the god that has the highest contender to be a creator is one that are motivated enough with carrying out their resolve and their moral stance. Such motivations would come from Advisor's words that would power the gods by strengthening an ideology that they suggested;

With Amar, the Advisor could either nudge them to stay with their easygoing and going with the flow way or taking a more proactive role in order to be able to protect his home when trouble arise.

With Lutra, it's either they would just be left to their urges to feed continuously without restraints or the Advisor could keep on reminding Lutra to feed with moderation in order for them to be considerate of their resources for the future as well for other living creatures that needs said resources too.

Their words are powerful with the amount of impact that it caused towards the gods they advised, I like to think that it may either due to his standing being an equivalent of a god and since his responsibility was to advise his powers would definitely be the strongest when he advices another god or it was due to their once standing as an original creator and even if their current self is a remnant of their old identity, they would still be powerful enough when doing certain things as they once stepped in to stop Elil with the other gods when he was still a reigning creator.

In addition to the Advisor's spoken words, it was also revealed that their written words possess a great amount of power too as such is reflected on the scattered pages that archived the happenings of an old world. The pages could be manufactured to be a crown, an item that could increase a god's potential to become a creator, or as mentioned before it can be given to Gnosis for it to (somewhat) mutually benefit the Advisor and Gnosis themselves—it comes down to making use of it to change the odds of the gods or to seek answers for themselves. I would assume that once the Advisor's responsibility shifts to be the Historian, their powers would be reflected towards the words that they written down. Perhaps some of the power could also originate from the creator and/or world that they were writing on, as if reaping some of it's essence into the pages, though this may be more of a stretch.

One more things that I would like to bring up is the Advisor's arrangement with Elil. He mentioned that he was once just like any other gods that's a part of the cycle, that is he has the opportunity to be a creator and loses his memory after each cycle. What intrigues me is that, despite the cycle has been imposed and the rules mentioned prior is set to affect everyone, how would the Advisor has the capability to make an agreement of such degree with Elil? In order to impose a new set of rules only to Elil specifically the Advisor would require to have the capabilities of their old self as an Original Creator as it was mention the only way for the a god to be taken cared off permanently is if the Original Creator wills it. Or is it possible that the Advisor would regain some of their power when being the Historian? It's an idea worth exploring actually, shall pin it for a headcanon. 🤔
