raised in north georgia, ethan spent most of his life outdoors

if he wasn’t outside, he was drawing scenes of nature

he spent most of his life in love with the same girl, but she hardly gave him the time of day

he firmly believed in soulmates, so he never gave up on her

after all, his parents were high school sweethearts so why couldn’t he have one, too?

well, his belief system fell apart when he and his mother found out that his father had been having affairs for the entire marriage

and even had children with other women

ethan had just finished college with a degree in engineering when this bomb dropped on his life and well…

let’s just say things didn’t go so well for a while

drinking and a bit of dabbling in drugs led to ethan having a criminal record, which pretty much meant no engineering firm would hire him

falling back on his love of the outdoors, he decided to launch his own landscaping company, which was rather successful for a long while

that was until he found out his mother was in so much debt that she’d gotten herself into some trouble

ethan sold everything he owned (including his business) to pay off her debt

you’d think that would be it right? wrong

two months later his mother passed away from a heart attack, leaving ethan essentially alone in the world

after doing some research, he found archeos online and decided to give it a shot

matt thought he knew what his life was going to look like, but when his parents split up, everything changed

now he only lives in archeos half the year and his college fund has been drained to pay for the divorce

matt feels frankly cheated, but he’s focusing on moving forward and making his life happen, no matter what

all this time he’s been in harvard, but now that he’s going into his senior year, it’s no longer clear whether he can still afford it

that doesn’t mean that finishing college isn’t for him, tho, he’s super determined to finish on merit if nothing else now that he’s come so far

in the mean time, he’s picked up a job w JASON DELANEY, as a fisher

it’s worth noting that the last time matt ever went fishing was when he was 12 and it shows

he didn’t remember it being this tough tbh but he’s still not willing to give up!!!! no matter what!!!!!

and he feels he owes a lot to jason, bc as annoyed as he might act sometimes, jason has been insanely patient!!

totally has a thing for  MADELINE WELLS!!!! but unfortunately he’s miserable at expressing that!!!!!!!!

so far his go-to move has been to panic and flirt w EMILY instead!????!! its a meSS!!

since she was a little girl, kelly has always dreamed of making films, but now that she’s made it, she’s questioning everything

she grew up watching every grace kelly film ever made and, as she grew older, threw herself into the study of film storytelling

she’s fought really, really hard to be where she is now and kelly’s a renowned movie star

it’s also a huge boost for this resort to have a star of her caliber here, which makes her feel good

but unfortunately for her, besides the presence of her best friend, that’s the only thing she’s enjoying about this vacation

1) secretly, deep down, kelly feels really lonely up here at the top

2) she’s started to doubt that this life is really the one she likes - it’s all so fake and circus-like and running from the paparazzi has gotten really old

3) she detesTS AARON STREET w a burning passion tbh but her manager somehow convinced her to fake date him

they have a movie together coming out and, in order to help it, they started “dating”

lindsey will help propel you to success but she’ll also push you to be your best to deserve it

like her bff, KELLY - did she help produce her first two films? absolutely! did kelly only became successful bc of that? oh hell no!

honestly really hard on her employees but that’s bc she expects the best of out of everyone

++ she knows that if they can survive her they can survive anything and the industry will 100% put them through the ringer

best if they start out prepared!!

aaron is a jerk and, to his credit, he will be the first person to admit that

still, knowing a thing and fixing it are two separate things and aaron hasn’t quite gotten to step two

like kelly, he’s a star on the rise, but unlike her, he didn’t have a wealthy bff to help get him attention in the start

he worked really, really hard right down to not having any heat in his crappy little nyc excuse for an apt just five years ago

if you thought this might’ve helped make him consider his privilege…you would be wrong!!

aaron is arrogant and way! too! blunt!!!!!!!  

he feels like since he’s worked this hard to get here, he’s gotta wring every opportunity he can out of it

which also makes him v abrupt and jumpy but, on the plus side, he’s super spontaneous!!

still, he’s a lil much and he deF can come off like a total dick

that is…he did…until kelly

meeting her has totally made him reconsider the way he’s living and treating others…mostly bc immediately made a bad impression on her

when he first met her, he just saw a privileged princess who only got where she was by standing on other ppl’s shoulders

when he got to know her, he realized she was all kinds of merit!!

and, if we’re being honest, atp he’s caught feels!

which he lowkey hates bc she hates him!!!!!!!

so nathaniel will move heaven and earth to make sure that, whatever it takes, kelly and AARON don’t “break up” until the movie’s out

annoying as accidentally going on vacation might be for someone like nathaniel, tho, he honestly couldn’t love kelly more <333333

he will always be here to support her!!!! but he 100% feels that that’s exactly what he’s doing by continuing the fake relationship!

he’s supporting her by supporting her career!!!!!!

but it’s not so bad really he’s w his bff…and lindsey’s here too, so that’s exciting…for him

nathaniel is madly in love w lindsey for, sadly for him, she barely knows he exists and he is MISERABLE at expressing feelings of any kind

so far, he’s been tyring to make her jealous by flirting w other girls when she’s around?????

and always trying to impress her!!!!!

has tried almost everything except actually telling her how he feels!!!!!
