Monthly Gem Challenge: Turgite
Just like last month, weâre giving you an unusual gem and challenging you to design a gemsona based on it! You can go as in-depth with your character designs as youâd like: come up with their personality and backstory, or just show what you think theyâd look like. They can even be a fusion if you prefer; the choice is up to you!
This monthâs gem is Turgite! (If you already have a Turgite gemsona, you can still drop them in the MGC tag, this month is for all Turgites, old or new!)
Gem Meaning: (Note: You can use the gemâs meaning to help you come up with ideas for your gemsona, but itâs not a requirement). Itâs said to dissolve negativity and calm the mind, boosting confidence and self-worth. Thereâs not much info on this gemâs meaning!
Cool Facts: Bet you thought Bismuth was the only one who could rock the rainbow look, huh? This gem is sometimes called âiridescentâ or ârainbowâ hematite, which is a common misconception! Tergite is a mix of Hematite and Goethite, and because of this, Turgite is not recognized as a mineral. Gems sold under the name ârainbow hematiteâ that look like the one on the bottom-left are actually not naturally formed Turgite; they get their glossy shine from man-made coating.
