He finds himself in the arms of an unfairly handsome man at the Opening Ceremony.
Any other occasion, it might be a funny story, but this is the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games! The first in Japan for years, decades!
And he fell over someoneâs foot.
More accurately, someone was stepping back into him so he stumbled back, over some girlâs foot, and on one hand someone else caught him so he didnât land flat on his back, but on the other handâŚ
He will never recover from this. Unfairly Handsome Man is smirking at him, still looking unfairly attractive.
âTry and stay on your feet,â he says, and finally tips Kaname back upright, from the dance-like dip that heâd had Kaname in. Kaname, flustered, can do little with his burning face than nod in response and scuttle away as fast as possible.
Opportunity of a lifetime, heâd thought: just finished high school, landed an apprenticeship at a manufacturer near him, and the Olympics are being held in his own country. Not only that, but he actually gets accepted as a volunteer and gets to go to the Opening Ceremony? What could be better?
Until heâd fallen over. Gods, he hopes they didnât get that on television.
