Iâm doing activity checks! Iâll be contacting people through skype to see if theyâd like to continue with the timeline, and if not, Iâll be opening those spots.
Weâve been extremely lenient, as the original rules state two weeks of inactivity and then we check in, but since weâve slacked on that, Iâll be contacting everyone.
If I donât hear responses for a week regarding my messages, Iâll be freeing those spots open.
Iâm sorry for the inconvenience! Please make sure youâre checking your skypes. Thanks.

Dionysus!Alpha Dave Application
Your name/alias: dagga Preferred pronouns: she/they idrc Skype: [REDACTED]
Character you are applying for: (alpha) Dave Strider Why you are choosing this character?: Striders are my specialty. Iâve being rping Homestuck since 2011 and Striders, specifically Dave, are practically second nature to me. God or Goddess your character will represent: Dionysus Why do you think this deity is appropriate for your character?: Dionysus is the original charismatic party boy and I feel like (A) Dave could pretty easily fit that mold, given his lifestyle as an obscenely wealthy film director. In what ways will your character represent this deity? (Powers, mannerisms, personality): He has a lot of natural charm as a person and it plays well with Dionysus being who he is. Heâs somewhat dual-natured, being the friendly and outgoing socialite with a legion of devoted fans and followers; and the demanding, dangerously persuasive and intense celebrity that throws legendary ragers in his ostentatious mansion every weekend.
Heâs got a green thumb and tends to favor grape and strawberry vines the most, for obvious reasons, and is exceptionally in tune with nature as a whole â he tends to get along with animals almost better than he does with humans and those rare bits of down time he has he spends alone.
Dio can make himself blend in with a crowd but prefers standing out, either with risky stunts or just by being the life of the party. He has the ability to shapeshift from one form to the next fairly quickly, so he can be difficult to find if heâs trying to be elusive. As the patron god of theater, a good parallel to his film directing career, heâs musically talented and can adapt to any role necessary whether it be in films or social settings. His prowess as an actor can make it difficult to get to know the real guy.
He he has some assorted non-divine abilities that can help him get what he wants. Things like lock-picking, seduction, he can read people exceptionally well to figure out what it is they truly want and has a way of completely destroying someoneâs inhibitions just through suggestion.
How does your character fit into modern society? Do they have any modern occupations, live with humanity? What is the spin on your character to make them more modern to fit the timeline?: He likes to live where the action is. Big cities mean big parties and loose lovers and the fast-paced lifestyle of human kind suits him exceptionally well. So much so that he dipped his sticky little fingers into Hollywood and became a very successful actor and film director. He keeps a penthouse apartment in both L.A. and New York, and he has a few other smaller places out in the countryside where a lot of sleeping and wine-making takes place.
Example of your writing: //yikes, i hope this is okay
On more than on occasion, Dionysus had been asked where he got the energy to be able to go from one activity to the next, almost like he was too hyperactive for a the world that just didnât have enough shenanigans going on to keep him occupied. He also got a lot of âdonât you ever get bored?â but he almost always responded with a shrug and something philosophical and vague like, âLifeâs a banquet, my dude, and most poor suckers are starvinâ to death.â
You could find him in clubs where scents of alcohol and sweat and something distinctly fruity mingled with smoke in the air under flashing lights, where the heavy pulsing bass notes threw people into a trance, where drugs and booze flowed freely, and where risque things took place behind closed curtains. Parties took on a new edge when the god of ritual madness walked through the door and anyone who said they could remember a Strider-style party probably wasnât actually there.
Tonightâs plus-one was a philosophy major. Dionysus spent more time talking to her about various schools of thought than with her shoulder between his teeth and his hands deftly undoing the clasp of her bra, but even after all was said and done and as he was pulling his shirt back over his head they found themselves talking still. She sat with her legs crisscrossed in the middle of her bed and she told him that she liked the Greek pantheon best. That grabbed his interest immediately and he smoothed his hair out of his face as he sat back down, mysteriously sober for having spent a night drinking like, well, an immortal. âWhoâs your favorite?â Heâd asked this question before. Usually the answers he got consisted of figures such as Zeus or Hades or Persephone (with good reason, because damn), sometimes heâd hear Poseidon or Hera â the heavy-hitters, the ones with the most compelling stories and coolest powers or domains. It happened all the time in Hollywood, but Dionysus was petty enough to feel a little spark of jealousy every time.
âMmmâŚâ She rested her chin on her palm and reached up to toy with a lock of his hair â it was a deep shade of chestnut brown tonight, differing from his usual favorite shade of strawberry blond or wine red. He was fully prepared to debate about which gods sucked the most â which is what usually happened in a situation like this â but what she said kind of surprised him for a second. âI like Dionysus the best.â She went on to say she could get behind anyone whose favorite things consisted of getting tanked and being naked, and how he was only second to Hera, which he could accept without much fuss honestly because Dionysus was a loudmouth but he wasnât a fool and nobody fucked around with Hera if they wanted to keep their lungs safely tucked into the inside of their body.
They talked until eventually she dozed off with her arms wrapped around a pillow and Dionysus stuck around a little while longer because holy hell did she have an amazingly comfortable bed.

Selene!Aradia Application
Your name/alias : linden Preferred pronouns: he/him, it/its Skype (Will be kept private to mods): [Redacted]
Character you are applying for: Aradia Why you are choosing this character?: Sheâs one of my favorite trolls, and i really enjoy rping her. Iâve always appreciate d the morbidness of her nature contrasted with the cuteness that she is.
God or Goddess your character will represent: Selene Why do you think this deity is appropriate for your character?: Selene seems incredibly mysterious, just like Aradia, and I feel that her mystique and allure would be fitting for such a troll. she also seems to hold a very unique power, that will be represented in her abilities. also this quote from the wiki page: According to Virgil, Selene also had a tryst with the great god Pan, who seduced her with a âsnowy bribe of woolâ.[32] Scholia on Virgil add that the god wrapped himself in a sheepskin In what ways will your character represent this deity?: she will be somewhat enigmatic and distant, only getting close to those who try their hardest to. she often feels the pull of the moon, and she can communicate with what she believes to be the other moon goddesses. she loves to drive around town in a bright white car at night, which she calls the âmoon chariotâ. people say she donates specimens to the museums in the area, but no one knows for sure. all they know is that animals that wander into her apartment at night donât always come out.
How does your character fit into modern society? Do they have any modern occupations, live with humanity? What is the spin on your character to make them more modern to fit the timeline?:Â she is a bit of an insomniac, and she enjoys working at the morgue during the night shift. her apartment is filled with unique skulls and books. tons of books. especially about the night sky. sometimes you can catch her wandering around the streets early morning, looking a little lost.
Example of your writing: The city was quiet, marked only with the streetlights and the occasional TV playing through the window. A flashlight peered out of an alleyway. Then a telescope. Long shaggy hair popped forward as Aradia peeked her head around the corner. She needed to double check something, but she wasnât sure what.
Peering through her scope, she scowled. âStupid light pollutionâ, she thought to herself, âmaking the stars hard to see.â Looking up at the sky, her scowl dissipated again. At least she could see the moon. From far away, she swore she could feel the ebbing and flowing of its rays, the tide rising and falling. And somewhere out there, she heard a faint voice.
âGo.â
Eros!Cal Application
Your name/alias : Maddix, though I go by Mad or Wolf. Preferred pronouns: He/Him or They/Them are fine. Skype (Will be kept private to mods):[Redacted]
Character you are applying for: Cal Why you are choosing this character?: Iâve always liked Cal in canon even though he didnât exactly come up much; heâs a fun character to roleplay. I have also recently gotten into Greek mythology and got really excited when I saw the God that he would be represented as. I couldnât just let an opportunity like this slip!
God or Goddess your character will represent (not gender specific; ex: Jane as âAresâ/Jake as âArtemisâ): Eros Why do you think this deity is appropriate for your character?: In what ways will your character represent this deity? (Powers, mannerisms, personality): From what I have seen about Eros I know that he is rather mischievous and seemingly a little over confident with himself. I have always roleplayed Cal as a character that comes off as sweet but always getting into trouble in most any way that he can ranging from picking fights with people that he knows are much stronger than him to simply making fun of people he knows cannot fight back. With Eros being presumed as the love of Aphrodite, Cal putting himself in the middle of some of the Godsâ love lives and getting them to fight whether it ending in bloodshed or simple melancholy.
How does your character fit into modern society? Do they have any modern occupations, live with humanity? What is the spin on your character to make them more modern to fit the timeline?:Â I was thinking that Cal could be a âmatch-makerâ online and in real life, seeing as I lean more toward Eros being the son of Aphrodite in Greek Mythology. He would probably live alone in his own apartment, but have a few close ties with some of the other Gods as well as his âmotherâ Aphrodite. He would probably have a rather good social life that would help him fit into the normal human world, so he doesnât exactly stick out like a sore thumb.
Example of your writing: [Also, I can write in 1st, 2nd and 3rd person and more than likely will change depending on my partner if this is alright.]
You were sitting at your desk, staring blankly at the computer monitor in front of you. People were posting away on your site MATCHES4U like it was god-sent. Not that it was exactly wrong, no one on the page would have suspected that you were anything except for mortal even though you were far from it. A small grin crept onto your face, the paint that you had been playing with moments earlier cracking some as your lips curled upwards. It wasnât the first time the make-up had been messed up, slight patches of your pale skin showing past the white, painted on mask.
âHmm..â You thought allowed, scrolling through the applicants. Each showed a picture of themselves, gave a few of their interests and hobbies, a proof of identification and a couple of facts about them. There was a list for boys, girls as well as an other section for those either uncomfortable sharing their gender or simply identifying as one or even both. You had been bugged about putting the third section up when the website was still newer; wanting the e-mails and comments to stop, you went ahead and put it up and made a big announcement on the page to introduce the new option.
You stopped scrolling when you found a girl, tall and lean with beautiful green eyes and long, dark brown hair. You found yourself staring at her picture for a moment, somewhat captivated by her beauty. It was like Aphrodite had created the woman herself. A sigh passed your lips as you looked over her information, humming softly as you made sure that the picture was really her and all of that fun stuff. Once you had done that you moved along to the men, heaving a heavy sigh.
âThis girl is definitely not going to get what she deserves from anyone on here.â You muttered under your breath, looking to see if you could find her âsoul-mateâ. A nervous cackle escaped your lips as you now went through the men, finding someone that looked like her ideal man. They shared some interests and hobbies, but that didnât mean anything. Clicking his box and hers, you worked your magic and sent them each a message. You told them a place for them to meet, a time and of course whether it would be casual or not. A quick congratulations and your name and it was sent, sighing as you leaned back in your chair. âAnd now we wait.â

An Application for Hermes/Dad Egbert.
Your name/alias : Jasper. Preferred pronouns: he/him only. Skype (Will be kept private to mods): [Redacted]
Character you are applying for: Dad Egbert. Why you are choosing this character?: Iâve had a sincere attachment to Dad Egbert for the longest time. I used to have a roleplay blog for him, but things grew sour due to personal issues and I had to leave. But! That was about two years back and Iâve been still expressing my muse on different roleplay formats. I have a good grasp on how to portray him in my most favored light, and Iâm pretty pumped about letting him run free again!
God or Goddess your character will represent (not gender specific; ex: Jane as âAresâ/Jake as âArtemisâ): Hermes.
Why do you think this deity is appropriate for your character?:Dad Egbert is a giver. He delivers every detail of something with accuracy and potency. Hermes is sometimes also seen as a bit of a trickster, that which I cannot deny. He guides lost souls into the afterlife, and while he may prank others for his own satisfaction, Hermes is a listener. He can be empathetic, and listen to the tales of those dead, whom are mourning. (Over the years, though. I expect him to become more closed off and sour, giving off that proper and stern impression that a lot of people characterize Dad Egbert to have.) A guardian was the only character that seemed fit to me, to take on the task of protector, of guider and soul-leader, to bear the messages of the gods. And Dad Egbert seemed like the perfect fit.
In what ways will your character represent this deity? (Powers, mannerisms, personality): Dad Egbert is going to be a mailman. I found this fitting due to the delivery aspect. And Dad, well. I always pictured him as a soldier as well. He protects travelers, and I can suspect that he, on several occasions, slipped into the war ranks in order to protect (and fail to protect) a few people who had slipped into his life. In these events, his body will bear scars of warfare. Furthermore, I feel like he wouldnât take these scars away, especially one from an explosion that left him monopedal. With a prosthetic, Hermes would also exhibit ties to the human world, a place heâs fallen in love with. I also believe Dad Egbert would be more attached to humans than he should be, though his favorite thing would be playing tricks on them. These tricks, once grand and detrimental, would now result to things like every day bad luck. A cake with the wrong name on it. Packages going to the wrong place. A crack that actually breaks their motherâs back. Some frustrations from the prankees might make him feel guilty, but for the most part Iâd love to play up the trickster aspect of Hermes. (I could name a thousand little tidbits, actually. Little things Alphonse would do, but I think Iâll just leave it at that.)
How does your character fit into modern society? Do they have any modern occupations, live with humanity? What is the spin on your character to make them more modern to fit the timeline?: As mentioned above, I would love Dad to be a mailman. He lives in a small town, where he can stay connected to many people and feel at home. But he does venture every now and then. Heâll go up to purgatory and take people down on a monthly basis, as the one-on-one trips are too time costly. Most of the time, heâd just be delivering mail, dealing with certain things he doesnât have the words for. Dad Egbert would fit in society as a bold, bright man who happens to deliver mail for a living. And because a lot of his once face-to-face delivery would be done electronically, a PDA would be strapped to his hip, every so often buzzing with a golden light to indicate that he was being summoned or contacted. He would also like to stir up drama, as he holds all those private letters in his hands. (I imagine some gods would but an anti-opening seal on their most private letters. But Hermes would certainly try to open them anyways.) Also, the flying shoes are real. Not Percy Jackson-esque. But his business shoes can sprout wings when needed. But while living somewhere in Oregon, why would he?
Also, lots of cakes. Lots of cakes.
Example of your writing:
Poof!
A puff of smoke emanated from letter, coating Hermes in some delicious black ash. It skittered across his cheeks, contrasting their pallor with the stark dark gray. Blinking wildly, Hermes tries to wipe it off with his sleeve, discovering that this kind of ash was not meant to come off so easily.
He did not know it yet, but it would take three showers, two baths, and a single bar of soap heâd gotten as a gift from Aphrodite to wash it off.
But for now, he just took off his hat and ruffled up his chestnut hair, that which stuck up in the few directions he didnât like it to. The letter was open, this was the most interesting matter as it were, and he was delighted to finally get a glimpse at this long mailed affair.
This was a letter from one of the upper gods, judging by the seal, proclaiming how much she missed the darling she was with for the time being. It was not a human, that was sure. But a grin still found itâs way to Alphonseâs face. Ooh. A coo slipped from his lips, obviously bemused by the writing. Every word on this parchment deserved a performance. It deserved humiliation. Love! How petty, how silly.
How quaint.
Cruising into his office with the switch and click of his prosthetic, Hermes slid the heavy wood door shut, listening to the click. A few fluttering letters settles, their desire to escape his clutches futile. He held letters back that needed to be read, and often, this was a lot of mail. âMy dearest,â Began the man, propping his real foot on his desk, that which hardly noticed the weight. âMy love for you burns with the weight of a hot coal.â At this point, he was already laughing, trying to hold back his cackles in orders to get through this poetic nightmare. âI still think about the times I held you in my arms, and imagine that you are still here as I try to allow slumber to fall among- Oh. Thereâs a typo there. How embarrassing!â
Licking his thumb, Hermes pressed his thumb to the letter. Sparks flew, and when he removed his thumb, the mistake was correct, only now the error was a faint mark. A human mistake, honestly. Silly, silly.
âAnyways.â He chirped. âOur love is something so deep that I could die at the thought of that flame going out. You are starlight, my dearest angel. My sweet-â Alâs face grew pink at the debauchery written in the folds of paper. It was so⌠lewd! He didnât know who he expected at this point. It was neck and neck with several various high powers. Clearing his throat, Alphonse skimmed to the bottom, âYours honestly,â Who writes like that anymore! Thatâs so cheesy-â Stop.Â
Laughter, boundless laughter.
âZeus is surely going to get a kick out of this one.â He chimes, resealing the note and pocketing it. His PDA buzzes, a golden light illuminating the screen. Oh. Taking a glance at his reflection in the mirror, he smiled sheepishly, rubbing at the ash with the back of his hand.
ââŚAfter a shower.â

Aradia Megido and Persephone are open for application. -Mod D
Erato Application
Your name/alias: Mallory/Cranberry
Preferred pronouns: she/her/hers
Skype (Will be kept private to mods):Â [REDACTED]
Character you are applying for: Nepeta Leijon
Why you are choosing this character?: Nepeta has been my sweet angel child ever since I checked out the troll corresponding to my zodiac sign back in December of â12. I relate to her in every way, from being a sort of social recluse and an outcast in her friend group, to her friendly and open nature, to her fascination with love and romance but itsâ absence from her life. Iâve been rping Nepeta for abouuut three years now, and sheâs the only character in Homestuck Iâve ever seriously written for.
God or Goddess your character will represent (not gender specific; ex: Jane as âAresâ/Jake as âArtemisâ): Erato, goddess of love/lyric poetry, marriage songs, and mimic imitation.
Why do you think this deity is appropriate for your character?: I decided to stray from the obvious âferocious hunterâ type that a lot of people (including myself) tend to pin on Nepeta and explore some of her lesser known, more personal qualities. The Muses travel the world to entertain and inspire mortals and gods alike, heralding heroes and blessing scholars. Nepetaâs role in the comic is similar; she lives to keep up the spirits of her comrades and remain that constant saccharine presence in their lives. Â
The reason I chose Erato out of the nine was because of Nepetaâs adoration for all things romance, and to a lesser extent, her title itself. Lyric poetry is, by definition, a form of poetry usually written in first person and addresses the emotions and feelings of the speaker. This correlates with Nepetaâs aspect of Heart, which deals with the soul and all things relating. Erato is also characterized as âshe who charms the sightâ and Iâd imagine Nepeta would do the same, not only because of her looks but her disposition itself. She just radiates sweetness, and itâs hard not to fall in love with her.
In what ways will your character represent this deity? (Powers, mannerisms, personality): For this AU, Nepetaâs personality is altered slightly; she is more confident in herself and her abilities, and her mannerisms have a bit of a coquettish flair to them. Sheâs still very sweet, very playful and very charming, often fashioning nicknames and affectionate terms for her godly kin and following them around. No one ever grows tired of her- itâs rumored that she uses her powers over love and tenderness to endear herself to people, but this has never been proven.
Erato has an extensive understanding of emotions and relationships, able to almost instantly pick up on the feelings of others, no matter how skilled they are at hiding them. Her godly powers are a bit more straightforward than this; she can spark the fires of romance between individuals, soothe the pains of rejection, and aid those who seek her guidance in wooing their significant other. Usually, her assistance comes in the form of a sudden desire to write a good old-fashioned serenade.
As a muse, she also has the ability to inspire and uplift any being, mortal or god, infusing their souls with the type of raw, unbridled joy that the Arts can bring. Anyone who witnesses a performance by her and/or her sisters is instantly brightened and exhilarated, which is why the siblings are such a beloved presence on Olympus.
After all, who doesnât like to be happy?
How does your character fit into modern society? Do they have any modern occupations, live with humanity? What is the spin on your character to make them more modern to fit the timeline?: When not traveling/performing in the company of her sisters as an upbeat all-girl a capella group, Nepeta is a wanderer, playing matchmaker all over creation. She lingers in coffee shops and singlesâ clubs, bringing perfect matches together with a whisper in an ear here or a tap of a shoulder there. She comforts recipients of nasty breakups during late-night bar trips, guides the pencils of lovestruck poets composing odes to their sweethearts, and cures sexual frustration with just a bat of her lashes. Despite her affinity for romance, Nepeta hasnât had a steady partner in years. She prefers to devote her attention to the affairs of others, but even so, she still enjoys the occasional night on the town while in good company.
Example of your writing:
âSo, youâre some kind of marriage counselor?â The question is warped through a half-full shot glass, pushed between damaged, sneering teeth and emphasized with a teasing crook of an eyebrow. Nepeta resists the urge to cringe and takes a sip of her own drink- virgin. âIn theory.â She hums under her breath, twirls a few fingers coyly in her black curls. âReally, Iâm more of a matchmaker. Kind of like a modern day Dolly Levi!â
A wasted reference. She suppresses a wince.
âHmph.â Her âdateâ for the night ghosts his clammy fingers up her waist, and she deftly whisks them away with a practiced subtlety. âYou donât seem the type for that.â
âYou donât seem the type for feeling up strangers at gritty bars.â He looks offended for a second, but she lightens the atmosphere with a giggle and a flip of her hair. Keep it together, Erato, keep it together. âIâm kidding.â
âRight.â
Her master plan seems to be developing a few kinks. Grimacing slightly, Nepeta leads her partner towards the edge of the room where there are less sweating, drunken bodies to jostle them around. She bears some lowkey groping in order to buy herself some time to seek out the young woman sheâd chosen for her unsuspecting client. After about a minute, she finds her, updo unraveled and downing a lemon martini. Perfect.
Simpering, she gestures for her companion to come closer. He does so, bumping his nose into her cheek, and she swivels him around so sheâs behind him and her chin is resting against his shoulder.
âI think I know what youuuuu need.â Nepeta smooths out his wrinkled collar, rolls the sleeves of his shirt up to his elbows.
âAnd what is that?â
The music shifts to something slow and sultry. Cliche, but sheâs a sucker for those. âA hook-up.â
She can feel his smirk, hands maneuvering to glide up her thighs, but she deflects them, once again. âNo, no, no. Not with me! Iâm not your type.â
âWhat-â
âLike I said, Iâm a matchmaker.â Her lips purse. âAnd Iâve got just the person in mind for you.â
âAnd who is that?â
Carefully manicured acrylics dig lightly into his stubbled jaw, directing his gaze to the lonely lady at the bar. âWhy donât you go talk to her?â Nepeta purrs, the command laced with godly charm. She hears him inhale, sharply, and unwinds her arms from around his chest. âYou can thank me later.â
Nepeta gives him a nudge in the direction, and off he goes, shouldering through the crowd to approach the girl at the bar. Thereâs a spark there, the goddess can feel it as soon as she watches their eyes meet, and with a snap of her fingers behind her back, she accentuates it.
Sheâd been planning on finding this guy some action tonight, and upon noticing that the young blonde with the martini had been clearly stood up (the nail-drumming on the countertop, the compulsive phone checking, the underhanded dabbing at tears; all telltale signs), she decided on a match. Judging the amount of chemistry between these two, it appeared to be a job well done. Their conversation is sweet and bashful, a far cry from the gruff tone and handsy nature sheâd had to deal with earlier, and thatâs not even on the cause of her assistance. Two more lonely souls remedied, at least for now.
The muse exits the bar with a smile on her lips and a spring in her step.
Nepeta application: Accepted!

Athena Application
Your name/alias: Ashe Preferred pronouns: She/Her Skype (Will be kept private to mods): [ Redacted ]
Character you are applying for: Rose Why you are choosing this character?:Iâm Rose trash and I have fifty Rose blogs, and I have a Rose Lalonde addiction, please send help. In all seriousness, I just really wanted to do Rose + Greek Gods because history is my second love.
God or Goddess your character will represent (not gender specific; ex: Jane as âAresâ/Jake as âArtemisâ): Athena. Why do you think this deity is appropriate for your character?: Thereâs the obvious link up between Athenaâs wisdom and Roseâs seer power, and also the cunning/strategy portion with Rose during the majority of the comic. I think thatâs rather self-explanatory. But also because of the prideful nature of Athena. Rose is a proud woman and she does allow her ego to get to her sometimes, which is something that clearly Athena has a problem with as well (the whole Arachne stitch.) And also Athenaâs fascination with humans is what I would personally link to Roseâs fascination with troll culture and trolls.
In what ways will your character represent this deity? (Powers, mannerisms, personality):Mannerism wise, the personality of Rose and Athena flows together really well which leads to a lot of obvious overlap. Proud, wise, always acting like she has two moves above everyone else, offering words of advice when no one asks. She doesnât just knit, but also uses needles and the like to form tapestries usually to vent. Itâs something she keeps from the older days, and allows her to give her emotions an avenue of release. There are a few tricks up her sleeves that she can pull out occasionally, but the majority of the time she just has her handy Aegis shield comes in neat purse form. It looks ghastly, but thatâs kind of the point.
How does your character fit into modern society? Do they have any modern occupations, live with humanity? What is the spin on your character to make them more modern to fit the timeline?:She would definitely be interacting with the human world, she adores humans. Considering how much she values knowledge, Iâm going to put her as a librarian. But I donât want it to be a librarian as in someone who stays in one place with a lot, more as someone who goes to different countries and travels around with her services. Considering how much Athena interferes with the lives of mortals in her myths, I canât see her playing a stationary role but considering how long sheâs been around, she would also know the problems of aiding too much. Which is why she focuses on those she normally wouldnât look at, and thus the forgotten small town villages, and that sort of thing.
Example of your writing: (2+ Narrative styled paragraphs of your character in this AU)
You feel the dirt and the earth beneath your fingers, and it isnât a pleasant sensation. Youâve done much in your existence, been to places that no longer exist and seen people that have become dust and ash. Youâve seen empires crumble and heard wise men laugh at you at their own peril and weep to you in their limitless sorrow. Yet, it is the crumbling sensation of earth, the grounded feeling that has you revolted and sighing. After thousands of years with silk and jewels, some part of you has been drawn to the inexplicable cry of the fallen man.Â
After all, some wars arenât won with blades and blood, you know that better than anyone.
What youâre applying isnât the cure but a simple cover for a bleeding wound. Still, you stand, dusting off the specks of dirt from your knees, cradling the precious gateway of knowledge in your arms. Medusa Application
Your name:Â D Pronouns:Â they/them
Character you are applying for:Â Damara Megido Why you are choosing this character?:Â Because Damara is my precious cinnamon bun too good for this world, too pure.
God or Goddess your character will represent:Â Medusa Why do you think this deity is appropriate for your character?:Â Both Damara and Medusa started as innocent girls who just wanted peace with the world, but outside forces came and tormented them (Meenah for Damara, Athena and Perseus for Medusa) until they became twisted, wretched woman who hate the world and what those who inhabit it have done to them. In what ways will your character represent this deity?:Â Damara will have the stone-turning gaze that Medusa had, and sheâll keep her hair pinned up with magical hairsticks that, once she takes them out, allows the magic to fall away and her true form of snakes for hair appears. Damara will be bitter and untrusting of the world, even though she aches with loneliness and want a friend.
How does your character fit into modern society? Do they have any modern occupations, live with humanity? What is the spin on your character to make them more modern to fit the timeline?: Damara lives at the edge of a city and keeps to her tattoo and body modification shop, Eternal Tattoo, which she runs because she knows the struggles of trying to accept your body as your own, and the art of tattoos helps those who struggle to remember that they are their own person and no one can take that from them. The name âMedusaâ is too well known nowadays, so she calls herself Damara Megido, wearing sunglasses constantly to protect the innocent mortals from her gaze. She is actually nice to people who come into her shop and are nice to her first (like Damara is in the comic to the humans who donât know her history).
Example of your writing: Damara rubs the close over the glass display case housing the body jewelry she sells here. The silver and plastic glitter back at her and the transparent reflection of her face is dim in the clear glass. Dark shades, brown skin, black hair she has held back with magical hairsticks so the snakes donât scare her mortal customers. She sighs and stands up, tugging her shirt back into place where it was twisted around her body. Even now sheâs still hiding.
She remembers how it felt when Perseus severed her head from her neck, remembers the cold touch of Hephaestusâs blade as the hero watched from Athenaâs shield. She remembers watching countless battles from her place on Athenaâs aegis. frightening the goddessâs enemies. And she remembers when she was finally freed, discarded, and the agonizing centuries before she finally reformed, somehow whole again. The work of Athenaâs curse, most likely, twisting the girl so much that she canât even call herself mortal anymore. Damara bares her teeth at her reflection, still watching her. âΤιΝιίĎĎĎÎż ĎΝΏĎΟι,â she growls at herself. She speaks English well enough, but she hates it, preferring instead to stick to her native Greek. Most people just think sheâs an immigrant. Sheâs fine with that; technically, she is.
She watches the motes of dust in the sunlight coming through Eternal Tattooâs window. and she moves into the warm spot to look out of the pane. She looks out at the sky. Does Helios know she even exists? Does Apollo? The sun and the light, watching over everything in the world. Do they see her?
She puts her middle finger up, just in case they do.
