or perhaps it was the shadow of the cloud hanging over his head
the basics;
Name: Oliver Albert Hamilton D.O.B: 18.12.08 Blood Status: Muggleborn Sexuality: Heterosexual Ethnicity: British Personality: INTJ
the story so far;
Oliver was never one for the outdoors. It didn’t matter to him that every other boy and girl in the whole entire town liked to spend their time in the playground, he would always stay inside with his books. The only reason he would be under the sun would be because his parents told him he needed some fresh air, and even then, he’d always be carrying books with him. Amazing, right? With a heart of gold, Oliver has not once passed the opportunity to help someone in any way that he could. Quiet to the point that he managed to spend a whole week at school without opening his mouth, Oliver unintentionally managed to set himself up to be bullied.
His hopes to stay in the shadows unnoticed were shattered as the physical abuse of his peers started to become a daily ritual. There were only two reasons as to why Oliver kept going to school once this started, and it was to keep his parents from worrying and to learn new things. But over time the bullying started to take a toll on the ten year old, when he decided to pick up his first blade. Receiving his letter a year later and doubtfully travelling to Hogwarts, Oliver found the same routine from his old school picking up again, only the wizard bullies were more strategic in their harming, as he himself became more skilful with his blade.
It was only three years into the wizarding world when Oliver’s mother passed away. A rare and contagious disease that the Nurse Hamilton had been treating beforehand, it was thought that she herself had contracted the same illness, although Oliver has his doubts seeing as the hospital never looked too deeply into it, and her records mysteriously disappeared. The year after his mother’s death, Oliver would return home on the holidays to find a mess of an empty house, and his father always gone at God ghastly hours. Now, that is no longer a problem, but he still makes an effort to take great care during the small time that he’s at home.
While the time that Oliver spends with books seems almost unhealthy, there is more to it than just pure pleasure and an excitement for learning. For the little of what he remembers of his mother, literature was the most prominent memory of her. During the -extremely large- amount of time that Oliver spends in the library, he’s managed to meet a handful of people that he can call his friends; and despite him still having an immense amount of trouble opening up to those he considers close, he appreciates every second they spend with him.
the magic;
Oliver experienced weird occurrences at home somewhat frequently the year leading up to his eleventh birthday. He tried to ignore it, but he once woke up to find his bed levitating. The bullies at school slowly started to retreat from him after a few times when magic was involved, one of them being when the bruise that should have appeared on Oliver gave the bully a black eye instead.
the future;
Oliver plans to keep himself more involved in the wizarding world than the muggle one. He’s considered becoming an Auror, but at point he finds the thought rather daunting. His poems and stories sit in his diary yearning to be published, but he doesn’t hear their calls. -Yet-, so there’s a possibility he could become an author of sorts. He’s also considered becoming a Healer or even a Doctor in the muggle world to somewhat follow the paths of his parents, and possibly make his mother proud.
