Have you played DALLAS : The Television Rolepalying Game
By James Dunnigan
Playing through scenarios, mostly as a character from Dallas. Seduction is an actual stat (along with Coersion, Persuasion, and Investigation, as well as Power and Luck)
Have you played ?
Yes I have played it
No but I've read it
No but I've heard of it
Never heard of it
This dumb thing has always been a personal favourite of mine. It was the second tabletop roleplaying game ever to be based on a popular media license (the first, of course, being Star Trek), and features a number of notable game-mechanical innovations for its era, including the earliest known example of a formal "social combat" framework, as well as a rudimentary form of troupe play, in which each player takes on the roles of multiple characters drawn from a common pool.
(Unfortunately, the Venn diagram of prime-time soap opera fans and tabletop RPG players in 1980 had effectively zero overlap. Eighty thousand copies of the game were produced, of which only a few hundred were ever sold; the publisher subsequently went bankrupt.)

✨Dragon Poll!🐉
What was the media that first introduced you to dragons?
Inheritance Cycle (Eragon series) (Christopher Paolini)
Flight Rising
His Majesty’s Dragon (Temeraire series) (Naomi Novik)
Game of Thrones (George R. R. Martin)
House of the Dragon
The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader (C.S. Lewis)
The Never-Ending Story
The Hobbit (J.R.R. Tolkien)
Wings of Fire series (Tui T. Sutherland)
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
For the purposes of this poll, “Harry Potter” does NOT COUNT as a valid answer. If it is the media that introduced dragons into your life, ignore it and please enter the next media with dragons that came into your life after HP.
IF you first heard of dragons somewhere else, please SPECIFY the name of that media IN THE NOTES. I was going to add an “Other (please specify in notes/tags)” but I have apparently run out of available answers. Also it seems I’m only able to run the poll for a week maximum, so that’s how long it’ll run. I hope to have fun with your answers :)
How to train your dragon Books my beloved
Anne McCaffrey’s Pern books
E. Nesbit’s The Book of Dragons
I knew what dragons were before I ever read THE HOBBIT or THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER. So...maybe one of Andrew Lang's books of fairy tales, or a book of Norse mythology with Nidhogg or Fafnir or the Midgard Serpent in it.
Our family's first apartment was a rented place with extremely widely stoked bookshelves in the "kids' room". Some of books for children lacked covers or half of the pages. There were fable collections from Western Ukraine and Middle East (I'm still obsessed by some specifically Persian tropes). I've constantly attempted some Russian Classic cause the books was there just staring at me from a shelf (mostly failed). I'm seriously not sure if that translation of "Gargantua et Pantagruel" is real and exists. I've read an English phrasebook for fun. All of that in a span of five-ish years?
Where have I learned about dragons? Can't say for sure but from somewhere in a literal hoard.
