guess who just made a new bookbinding tool! this is a plough, which is used for trimming edges. (here's a video of one being used so you can see what I'm talking about!) this particular plough is 3D printed using generic PLA and this pattern, with the blade being a 100mm electric kebab blade as recommended by the makers of that pattern. the blade guard is a different color so I can see if the blade is exposed at a glance, which is a safety feature because the edge is very sharp. it's very lightweight but also strong and I'm eager to get some textblocks going so I can try it out...
another bind under my belt: reset my patient violence (and other stories) by tsunderestorm! featuring dustjacket illustrations by @batkingsalem and the photography of Alfred Stieglitz.
this is a lovely, smutty GuitarPrincess fic series that was very fun to read and very fun to typeset and bind as well! I tried out a lot of new things for this bind and am happy with the end result β it's not perfect by any means, but I'm still proud of it! more about the binding style and methods used under the cut.
