                                        to say he’s surprised that there’s another him stood mere metres away is a sore understatement. of course, he doesn’t show it in any visible way- though that’s par for the course with gladion. however, he can’t help but wonder what went well for the other one that went horribly wrong for him-

                                        considering that the ‘gladion’ stood before him has the hugest damn grin on his face that gladion’s ever even seen- bigger than even hau’s when he returns home after a few days of travelling. it’s almost offputting, to see such an unfamiliar expression on a perfect mirror of his own face.

                                        a glance down to his side shows that lucario- who released himself from his pokeball, duly noted- looks downright stumped. he doubts the aura-sensing pokemon is having much fun with some alternate version of his trainer running around.

the cheerful blond had been eating a malasada and taking in the joys of such a simple and yet DELICIOUS food --- even ensuring his silvally was out of its pokeball to share such an experience with him. it may not have been much to smile over, but in his mind it was definitely worth the positivity. even if he HAD already eaten every type of the treat at least twice before.

and yet, when he heard a voice call out to him, his grin did not falter much. half a malasada still in hand he turned, and wasn’t quite expecting to see what seemed to be a clone of himself, so much so in fact, that if he didn’t appreciate it so much he would’ve dropped his food.
