time passes quickly and yet i find the days never ending. how is it that i’m running out of time and running away from it at the same time? i’m unsure of a lot of things. of course, the answers elude me. it would be too easy if we knew the answers.

my mind is a train station. thoughts come and go quickly, sometimes multiple at once, and it seems like they never stop. i think all the time. i wish i could turn my brain off sometimes, but only if your memory remains.

sleep is the reprieve i need. i don't even dream anymore. instead, i close my eyes to darkness and open them to your voice.

the alarm i've set wakes me by filling the room with the sound of music. your music. piano notes come in shyly, and then i'm met by the voice that pulls at my eyelids and scrapes the walls of my heart.

i'll be there.

that's what you say, and i want to believe you. i want to be selfish. i want to see you, i want to hear you, i want to talk to you...

nowadays, i find the words i miss you a burden. they all say it all the time. does it matter if i add my words to the flurry of declarations of love? i've stopped trying to prove my feelings.

i think of you, and every inch of me recognizes it.

i think of you, and i feel hope. i feel love, and i feel at home. today, i'll pray for your health and happiness, just as i always do. God must be tired of hearing your name...
