They aren’t really “houses” in the traditional sense. And there aren’t that many “stereotypes” that I can think of.

College is the oldest boarding house and the 70 King’s Scholars are housed there. College is seen as the academic elite and is populated by brainy boys and they are generally less sporty. The black gowns and tugs that they wear probably don’t help the stereotype. They are also separated from the rest of the school.

The boarding system at Eton has created a “mimic-republic” in a way. Politics at Eton is like a microcosm of Westminster.
