He toddled toward his older brother, who was calling his name, and when he finally reached him, his brother hugged him tight. The baby burst into that bright, carefree laughter that only babies seem to have.

At that moment, the song “Melody” by Koji Tamaki was playing from my phone, and I found myself thinking, “Every time I hear this song from now on, I’ll remember this moment.”

Even though it was happening right in front of me, the scene instantly became nostalgic.

When I designed this Indian elephant character, I was drawing inspiration from Indian elephants, belly dance aesthetics, and a fuller, curvier body type. While belly dance itself influenced the design, I wasn't creating her with Middle Eastern people or ethnic stereotypes in mind.

When I design female furry characters, I tend to lean more toward retro and vintage-inspired aesthetics rather than modern styles. I also often incorporate impressions associated with the animal’s place of origin, along with elements of folklore and cultural atmosphere, as part of my design process.

That said, I want to strongly emphasize that none of my characters are created with discriminatory intentions. My goal has always been to portray female bodies in a positive way and create designs that feel beautiful, cute, and inspired by a retro atmosphere.

Your comment also made me realize that people can interpret visual elements in ways I hadn’t considered before, so I appreciate you sharing your perspective.
