I got to the venue around 6pm just in time before the first band started playing and there were 4 bands before DIIV went on the stage at 10pm. I was so glad I got the barricade because I have been listening to them religiously for more than 5 years and to just see them up close was really a dream comes true. To be honest, I couldn’t have dreamt of seeing them playing in Thailand, like ever, let alone meeting them. So, anyway, the show was amazing! They played all the songs I’ve been wanting to hear live for so long perfectly and some unexpected ones, too.

Because I wasn’t sure if i was gonna get to meet them, I asked the staff I knew if she could take the album covers that I brought and get the band to sign them and she said yes. After the show, the band were just there hanging out all over the places like they were in no rush to go anywhere and there’s a lot of people who either want their stuffs signed or a photo and I was one of them.

(There’s gonna be a lot of photos from this point on including all my dark and terrible photos with them lmfao)

So, the staff brought both of my records back to me but only Cole and Devin signed the Is The Is Are album. Cole even wrote the little ( Hi ) for me adfgdhsfdjhg so fucking cute. There was no one around Devin so i just went to him. He was sitting, chatting with their manager (I think?) and so i asked if he could sign my records and he has this water bottle in his hand so he asked me to hold it for him lmao then he saw that he’s already signed it but i was like yeah but not on Oshin! So, he laughed and then carefully drew it for me without his name. Then, I asked if i could have a photo with him and he’s like “of course!” We took two :)

Then, when I said thank you to him I started to walk away but he said “hey!” and I was like what? and he said he didn’t sign his name yet so he did and I told him tysm and he’s like “you’re very welcome ;)”. To be so awfully honest, he was a lot nicer and funnier than i expected him to be lmao sorry.

Then I went to Tom who came to play the drums for the band because Ben couldn’t make it. Tom who?

This Tom! fucking Thomas Gardner of Beach Fossils jesus christ! I didn’t get a chance to go see them when they were here because i was an idiot and i still regret it to this very day. Anyway, because I had nothing else with me, I asked him to sign the Is The Is Are album and the conversation went like this

Tom: I’m not a part of this album.

Me: I know but you’re here so it’s ok.

Tom: I didn’t make this.

me: I know.

Tom: I had no contribution whatsoever on this record

Me: I KNOW!

Then, he laughed and said “just so you know.” and signed it for me lmfaoooooo.

I took pictures with him then said thanks then went to Colin next. Colin immediately said “Weren’t you in front of me when we were playing?” and i was like yeah then he smiled and signed the album for me “NICE EYEBROWS - COLIN” lmao then we took photos.

and he said “see? nice eyebrows.” lmaooooooo what a man.

Then, I went to Mr. DIIV himself holy shit i was so nervous that i didn’t even see that there was a line of people waiting to take photos with him so i unintentionally cut them and asked him to sign the Oshin album that he hasn’t signed yet. He did that then i realized what I just did so i apologized to all the people there and they were cool about it.

Because there was a lot of people in line, I went to Andrew who has been wearing this ridiculous red hat all day lol. He signed Oshin first then when he saw Is The Is Are he looked back at Oshin and he was like “WOW! you’ve got some good ones from Devin!”

and I was like I knowwwwww and he was like “now i feel pressured (laughs)” lmaooooo he was so nice like really really nice and then i asked him for a pic.

Then, I went back to see Cole because there’s not a lot of people now and he took 3 photos with me omfg

I thanked him and walked away to check the photos but they turned out all dark and blurry because he wouldn’t stop moving like he changed the pose a lot lmfao so I went to him and said “my photos are bad because I suck” and he laughed like a little kid jsfabhjdgkklj he’s so adorbs oh my goD then we took one more selfie.

Because i wasn’t sure if it’s gonna come out all right, I asked my friend to take one for me, too. Cole was like “let’s act like we’re girlfriends” lmfao

Then, I asked him for a hug and he’s like “that’s the first time someone’s asked me today :(” and i got nervous then he hugged me and said “maybe because i’m so sweaty.” and i said “yeah you are.” then he laughed oh my sweet lord and he squeezed me i was going to kms dfkjaghkgk

This was taken after he let go of me. I looked like shit but also very happy and he’s very cute so i’m in love with this one.

My friend and I went to take one last photo then I said goodbyes to all the people i knew there then went home.

All in all, I am very very happy. You guys have no idea how much I love DIIV and Zachary Cole Smith himself. I know he’s made some very bad choices in the past but hey who hasn’t? Seeing this band in Thailand was a dream come true just like I said but seeing Cole’s face lit up when he saw the crowd when he first got up on the stage and he said “Wow i didn’t expect a lot of people would come see us. Thank you.” made me way happier than what I’ve been feeling these past few months and maybe the happiest I have felt in a very long time.

It’s fair to say that this was one of the best day of my life and I got everything I never expected to get and more from the guys I have never imagined seeing in real life nor having the chance to talk to.

I haven’t been able to stop smiling yet and I hope i remember this feeling forever.
