Lifescouts: Driving Badge

I have always loved being in a car and since I got my driving licence I love driving as well. My parents have even told me that when I was a baby, if I wouldn't calm down they would put me in the car and drive around the neighborhood and then I would be all calm again. I just love driving, listing to music or the radio, having fun or insightful conversations on long car rides. I remember that when I was young I would always want to go with my parents anywhere they were going just because we were going to drive. 

I got my drivers licence back in May of 2009 (in Denmark you have to be 18 to take your driving test). I had never tried driving before, I was kinda scared of it, and the first day I had to drive with my teacher I almost screamed because I thought I was going to hit a bunch a birds that was on the road, but of cause I didn't ;). It was also very difficult for me to speed up, I was just not comfortable with driving that fast, but of cause when we had to get on the high way I had to, so my teacher was "yelling at me" saying Come on Lea, go go go, You can do it!! And I was screaming. I took my driverstest with my best friend back then, and I actually have so many fun memories from back then, because we were our teachers first "driving-team" it was only the two of us on his team, so we got our teacher to bring cake and soda when we had lesson for our theory test. It was a great time, but unfortunately I didn't pass my test at the first try. It actually took me three tries to pass it, my teacher told me he suspected that it was because I had my test right around the time when they (the teachers) were in some sort of protest against the policemen who had to pass us. Oh well, its all well in the past but none the less a part of this story, and after I failed a lot of people I knew came out with their own story of how they fail, which I had no idea of. So right there and then I decided that I was not going to keep it a secret or forget to tell that part, because it is also a story of how I didn't give up just because I didn't pass the first time. Fall down 2 times, stand up the third (in this case).

The picture is me on the day I passed infront of the school I went to and my teachers car (I still kinda miss that car, weird right?), my teacher insisted on taking it and sending it to me, I thought it was kinda weird back then, now I'm happy he did! :)

I'm a huge Sex and The City fan, and of cause I have also seen the movies. Waaaaaaay back in 2010 when the second Sex and the City movie came out I fell in love with the gemstone necklace Carrie wore. The other day I saw a picture of it again and thought that maybe I could make something like that but with Hama beads. So here is my DIY of the Solange Azagury-Partridge gemstone necklace:

I used this picture as a bead pattern:

- Hama Beads.

- Elastic thread

Lifescouts: Drive-In Movie Badge

In 07/08 I lived in America, I went to high school and lived with a hostfamily. In the last part of my stay in America I lived with one of my best friends Paige and her family. They were just the nicest family and I had a lot of fun times with them even though I only lived with them the last 3 month of my stay. My friend quickly became my sister and till this day we will still call each other sister. I miss her and all my friend and family from over there so very very much. 

This was my first time to America and first time out of europe so I loved experiencing all the different things in America, if it was going to Chicago to shop for prom dresses with Paige or just a trip to Wall-Mart late at night when we would get bored, I loved it all and I think sometimes my friends thought I was a little weird for being so excited about everything ;) But I also think and hope they kinda loved showing me their world. So when Paige suggested that we should go to the drive-in theater I was over the moon excited. I had head of this and see it in soooo many movies and I have always wanted to try it. We went and saw Indiana Jones and College Road Trip and if it wasn't for the pictures I would not have remembered what movie we saw, because it isn't really the movies that are stuck in my mind but the fun we had together. We had bought blankets, pillows and food and we had so much fun laying in the back of Paige's car. (I don't have many pictures from that night and they are not the best quality, sorry). For many people this would properly just be another memory or something they used to do a lot, but for me this was a great memory and one I still hold very close to my heart.

Lifescouts: Tree-Planting Badge

Now I wish I could say that I plant a tree every month, or just every year, because even though I sometimes have an ongoing disagreement with nature, I do think we all need to think about preserving it. But I did plant a tree once, with thirteen other 6-7 year olds. It was all the way back in the 97, when I was just a little kid who started 1. grade. This school I went to was not peticulary the greatest school on earth, but they did at this point in time make an awesome "tradition", the first day of school the new 1. grade class would plant a tree on the school ground. I remember thinking this was pretty cool that we got to plant a tree and see it grow. And now when I get to think back on this memory, way back to the time when I wanted to wear my sailor dress on the first day of school, I can't believe that all school don't do this, or maybe it would just be something you did as a family. Planting a tree on the first day of school and talking to the children about how this tree will grow just like your knowledge will when you are in school. This tree will grow, just like you will grow and become a big tree filled with apples or pears or what ever tree you plant. I just think its such a cool idea and it would help the environment too ;) 

My parents did something a little like this, they planet a plum tree the day I was born. I loved that I had my own tree and I loved the plums, I even think I sometimes would talk to my tree when I was little, yes I was a pretty weird child, but let not get into that now, at least I didn't give it a name ;). Sadly this tree did not last as long as I did, last summer 2012, my dad had to cut it down because it was sick, but then this Christmas I used the wood to make gift tags so everyone in the family would get one and I also made a few to use as tree ornements.

I hope that everyone who has never planted a tree will do this, giving something back to nature you know? Plus trees are just so cool to look at, the way they grow and their branches, I really love taking pictures of branches. Maybe there will be a branche/tree post with pictures I took soon :)

Lifescouts: Empire State Building Badge

Back in Oct. 2009 I and a group of students and teachers from my school went to America for about 2 weeks. Now this was not my first time in America, about a year before I had gotten home from a year of living there, but I was so excited to go back. The last week was going to be spend with a hostfamily in Baltimore, but the first week was going to be spend in New York. I had so many expectations and dreams about how New York was going to be, ever since I can remember I have wanted to go to New York. When I was just a little kid I used to watch Friends with my older siblings (since I was the youngest out of five you didn't really get to decide what to watch on tv), and even though I had no idea what they where saying and mostly watched my siblings so I would laugh at the right moments, I got very facinated of the whole thing and this city they where living in. 

Now any idiot would think that I got deeply disappointed with those high expectations when I finally got there, but I did not. I love the city in all its loudness. We where there for about a week, and we got to see a lot of different things, lot of the tourist things, but we also had quit a lot of time on our own, and this was something I really valued and got the most out of. I'm not much of a tourist when I visit places. I love to see there things don't get me wrong, but highest on my parity list when traveling is getting to observe the culture, the people, talk to them, feel where they live and not just the tourist side of things. So this was what I did with my time, oh and of cause shopping ;) 

This is properly one of the best trips I have ever been on (I don't like to say its the best, its like picking which one of your "kids" are the best), I fell more and more in love with the city every day we where there. I love how there are people everywhere and how it REALLY never does sleep, how loud it is and the fact that there is always something happening somewhere and a fun fact: I have never sleept that well in my life, even though we would be hearing car horns and people all night. To me it all felt so safe and just right. One of my big dreams is to one day go back to New York for good, to live there, its a long way a head, but I hope that someday I will be able to!

Hi everyone, I know its been a while since I have shown any life on here, sickness and the fact that there just haven't been much activity on the photography loving side of my life right now, has left this blog a little in the unknown. But know I'm back, and with a little new thing. In one of the few time in which I found myself wondering around the land of YouTube, I found this very interesting new thing called Lifescout, it is kinda like Scouts, but with life experiences, as explained in this video by the "founder" of Lifescout. They have made a website with badges, and then you share the badge along side a story about that experience. I think this is just such a cool idea and so naturally I want to be a part of it. So on here gonna share my badges, stories and pictures (if applicable). It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas ....

 I just love Christmas and this month, its my favorite time of the year and I want to enjoy and do all the thing that involves Christmas! To day I made Christmas candy with my mother and sister-in-law, it was just so much fun and something I enjoy doing every year. After that my mother and I went for a little walk in the woods, because here in Denmark the snow has been falling since 1. of Dec, its just so beautiful and amazing. 

Other wise I have been busy making different things, donuts, snowflakes, decorating the house with mother and also the threes outside, been making name tags for Christmas presents and packed the first gift. I have found my Rudolf socks and been wearing my new "Christmas" cardigan and every morning I wake up with a new Christmas song on my lips. It is just the most wonderful time of the year! 

I was also so blessed to get another nephew just before December started, on the 29 of November my youngest-older sister Julie (who I took pictures of when she was pregnant, see them here and here) gave birth to her son Conrad, he is just so tiny and cute. I feel so blessed to be the aunt of 2 niece and 4 nephews, they just bring light and fun into my life. :) 

15. Movember

Today I made these and put them up at our local grocery store, feel free to use then yourself and hang them around your town. I cut between every moustache and then wrote please support Movember on the back of each. :) Happy about half Movember.
