Take The Hit
After the accident that took her father’s life and left her mother sick, YN learned to survive on her own amidst endless shifts and silences that weighed too heavily. Her life seems like just another miserable routine, until JK appears just as everything starts to fall apart.
He approaches slowly, with an easy smile and too many questions, whilst hiding the real reason he entered her life: to kill her. But the more he discovers about her, the harder it becomes to pull the trigger. Because the accident that destroyed YN was never an accident, and the debt that haunts her has been stained with blood for years. Now JK will have to decide what weighs heavier: loyalty to the mafia that raised him, or the girl he should never have met.

part 4
This was heavy for you, strange, uncomfortable even.
You were surrounded by mafia men, somehow tangled in a web of mob men that was passed down through generations. You didnt even know this world existed so close to your reality.
And here you were, packing all your stuff while Namjoon and Jungkook talked lowly in the kitchen.
If your life taught you anything, is that you have to face the problems once they are in your way. There's no use of looking the other way.
You checked through your cabinets and your wardrobe, everything you needed was packed in a small pink bag, your daily clothes and skincare products all bagged.
You stared at your plushies, deciding on which one to take with you. You picked your favorite one, a white bunny Yoona gifted your from her trip to the Netherlands.
You didnt have much to your name either way, you lived a simple life. You barely made it to pay rent, but you always kept money aside for your savings.
Your life consisted in studying and working as hard as you could. Only affording what any work payed you. That left you with some money in the bank and an unfinished university degree in interior design and fine arts.
You had to give that up, only until you raised enough money to continue your learning and finally graduate university. That was what kept you going.
You dont remember your life as a little girl, only having few memories of your mother. Your father was never there. Small memories you hung onto in cold nights and lonely hours.
''Youve got everything?'' Jungkook asked from the door, his figure almost reaching the ceiling as you shook your thoughts away.
''Yeah'' you nodded, you weren't happy with this decision, with how your life did a 180 spin and left you living with a guy you only knew for a couple of days.
He cleared his voice, and slowly closed the door behind him, leaving you and him alone in your room.
''Listen I..'' He began speaking, and you took a deep breath, prepared for his speech.
You knew what he was gonna say, how he isn't happy with this either, but it is what has to happen, he probably will leave you alone in a room until everything clears out.
''I know you dont like this situation, and I understand that'' He tried to search for the right words. He know if he made a wrong move, he wont ever stand in your good side again.
''I wish we met on another circumstances, and not let this huge circus get between you and I'' he quickly corrected his words at your confused face. ''I-i mean, like your life not being totally disrupted and all that''
You nodded at his words, his big eyes staring at you as if he was waiting for any move from you.
''Since we're going to live together, and like pretend that we are together. I want to say that it will be best if we have a good relationship'' His words made you scoff.
''Listen, I know you think you're all that, but I wouldn't think twice about refusing this ordeal if it werent for Yoona and my family in this town'' He nodded at that, his expression suddenly... pained?
''I shouldnt have to be in this mob bullshit just for doing my job, and I dont think I deserve this, so save your speech and lets get this over with''
He could only nod at you, his brows furrowed, obviously not happy with your words, but as you said, nothing about this was a choice, it was a chore. So he had to play with what he was given, even if he didn't like it.
''Sure, yeah'' He cleared his throat. ''Let's get going, Namjoon is waiting'' He left the room as you picked up your things and put on your oversized jacket. You stood at the door, watching your bedroom and hoping to be able to come back as soon as possible.
''Thanks Y/N, your collaboration is gladly appreciated'' He spoke to you as if you were a senate, and you raised your brow.
''Just do your job as a big mafia guy and finish this before I lose my mind completely''
You opened the door and got out, waiting for them to follow you. Jumping on the bike behind Jungkook and hoping he didnt live in a shack in some random mountain.
You were wrong, oh so wrong.
This was nothing close of a shack, this was actually a luxury penthouse. Your eyes went big as you crossed the threshold.
Tall walls, impecable decoration, neutral colors and spot clean kitchen.
''Surprised?'' His voice rang from your back, placing the bike helmets in a big rack in the hall.
''Not really'' You lied through your teeth, your eyes couldnt move past the big windows overlooking the city, the cozy and modern fireplace, and the big ass TV hanging in front of the much bigger sofa.
''I mean, I might behave like a dumb kid from time to time, but what did you expect?'' He joked, trying to lift the mood a bit.
''A frathouse, red cups all over the place, even some condoms in the trashcan'' You shook your shoulders, completely honest to him.
''Ugh, Im not that filthy'' He shook his head and hanged his keys on the doorway.
''Can you show me my room, bellboy?'' He raised his brow at you, your expression unmoving. He couldn't decide if your attitude was pissing him off or turning him on.
''Yeah'' He nodded and sighed, his figure walking towards a broad hallway.
''This door is the bathroom, this one is my bedroom, this one is my office which you cannot enter'' Yeah right, he was going to boss you around too?
''And this is your bedroom'' He opened the door to the biggest bedroom you ever been on, huge windows beside the bed, and the same boring decoration you could see from a luxury magazine, not surprised.
''It has it's own bathroom, so no need to stress about showers and all that'' He pointed at a door in front of the bed, as you walked and set your bag on top of the covers. You nodded looking around and making up your mind that this was going to be your home for a while.
''Do you like it?'' He asked, hopeful to have a good reaction out of you.
''It's boring'' You simply said as he grew more and more exhasperated by the second.
''You're a brat you know that, right?'' You smiled at that, happy to finally having an honest review of yourself.
''Too bad you're basically trapped here, i would have moved you to the attic''
''You have an attic?'' You asked, surprised and amazed that this whole penthouse could even exist.
''See, I knew you were impressed'' He finally smiled at you, his hip resting on the bed as he crossed his arms.
''Not a bit'' You shook your head, regretting your slip.
''Sure, I'll be arranging some things in the office, have fun with your little room'' He winked at you, he had the balls to wink at you while you squinted at him and shook your head.
He walked out, and you got yourself busy arranging your clothes, and admiring the gigantic bathtub just beside your bedroom. At least you were going to have fun.
It was time for dinner, hour passed fast as you got yourself comfy. Of course you took a bath on the ridiculously big bathtub. You havent tried on of those ever. And might you say it was one of the seven wonders.
You took your time to realize how it worked, the endless knobs and buttons you realized made the water hot and cold, and move in different directions. It was really too 'rich housewife' for you if you were being honest. But you enjoyed nevertheless, playing with the bubbles and even meditating as you floated above the water.
You got out of the bath and quickly put your pajamas on, some shorts and a big oversized hoodie paired with your socks. It wasn't overly cold in here, but this place had ac and you realised he had it a bit lower than what was comfortable for you. But you weren't going to complain, the endless hot summers in your apartment with just a celing fan being hell compared to this.
You decided to leave the room for the first time since you arrived here, and carefully walked down the corridor, waiting to hear something from him.
Was it weird that you were this comfortable in the house of a mafia guy? In your defense you might say he treated you normally from the beggining, a bit annoying and rude, but normal. So you decided to treat this surreal situation as if it was normal. Maybe you were into roleplay and you didn't even know yet.
You stopped in front of the door of the room you were forbidden from entering.
You tried to listen into the office, try and notice if he was in there, but in a second the door opened, and you were sent tumbling into a big and, surprisingly hard, figure.
''Eavesdropping?'' He raised his brow as you quickly recovered from the weird forward tumble you did, you shook your head almost inmediately.
He took notice of your wet hair, your flushed cheeks and cozy clothes. But he didn't comment on it, anything we would say was completely out of line, but how could he not think about you that way?
The image in front of him was utterly domestic, cozy and cute. He couldn't stop himself from imagining running his hands through your damp hair, from your smooth legs to your beautiful waist, god he was going to lose his mind.
''D-do you want dinner?'' Your strangled voice met his ears, his mind pushing away all of his thoughts as he looked at your even more flushed face.
''You're gonna make dinner?'' He raised his brow at you, he couldnt understand you. One moment you were all rude and treating him like it was torture to be around him, and then here you were, offering dinner to him.
''I-i mean, Im a little hungry'' You nodded at your explanation, yeah, totally believable. It wasn't like you just didnt know what to say, and like his gaze was kind of making you hot all over, no, not at all.
''Sure, go make something, Im not hungry tho'' You frowned at that, a small pout forming on your lips. Fuck, you had to stop doing that.
''Cool'' You nodded, walking away from his door and making your wait to the kitchen. He wouldnt stop looking at you from the back, and running his hands through his hair he shut the door again.
If he stayed even one minute in front of you, he would have done something crazy. Confess incomprehensible feelings for you, kiss you dumb like a horny dog, even steal a couple of moans from you.
No, he couldnt do that.
This was all just pretend.
You finished your dinner alone in the kitchen, staring spaced out at the tiles in front of you. You made something simple. Some rice with chicken on the side.
You made sure everything was spotless after your cooking session, eating your meal in silence sat on the ridiculously tall stool on the kitchen island, and decided to make some tea for the evening.
Your brain couldn’t stop overthinking everything that was happening. Your future at stake, your present being weird. And Jungkook.
You knew you weren’t in a place to star thinking about cute guys, not when there was apparently some mafia behind you just to get to another mafia. But generally speaking, everything seemed almost relaxed.
You knew there was a lot of things you didn’t know, and weren’t yours to deal with. Jungkook's time on his office showed you that. But nevertheless, you couldn’t help but ponder about who you were living with.
You knew nothing about him really. You only knew he was like a muscle bunny. Neck up and he looked like a reckless teenager. Neck down and he looked like he never left the gym. Both sides different from each other, yet so utterly attractive put together.
His big eyes, paired with sharp cheeks that turned round at his smile. The cute moles on his skin and his piercings all reflecting the light when he comes inside a room. His demeanor changes from space to space, but his stance never stops his imposing figure.
Your thoughts were cut when you heard his door open, your back to the kitchen island as you sipped on your tea.
“What did you make? Smells so good I had to check it out myself” He approached you on the kitchen, his tall figure sniffing the pan you left with the food.
“Some light dinner” you shrugged as you bit your lip, faking a nonchalant image, the only way you seemed fit for how to approach this conversation.
“What’s on your mind?” He beat you to it, as you raised your brow.
“You read people too well”
“I’m in the mob since I was born, im trained to do that” he admitted as if it was something normal, but you sighed either way.
“Why are you doing this?” Your fingers gracing your mug, both of you looking at each other, one hip on the island.
He furrowed his brows and chuckled.
“Isn’t it obvious?”
“I don’t mean it like that, I mean that you barely know me, and you still let me stay with you, create this big plan for me not to be caught in between whatever war you got with those guys.”
You spoke your mind, and he couldn’t look away, appreaciting the first time you truly spoke as yourself, and not in the normal bickering you two had.
“You think I don’t know what im doing? You’re threatless Y/N”
“How do you know that? Maybe im a spy, and you’re letting all your secrets out with me” You raised your eyebrows playfully. You couln't stop your jokes whenever he was around, the dynamic between you two too funny to evade it.
He smirked at that.
“Then I might as well check for secret mics” he smiled approaching you, his hands gripping your hips, one hand attempting to lift your shirt, all in a joke manner.
“Hey I’m serious!” You shook your head. “As I said, you don’t even know me” you sighed and slurped your tea.
“That’s what you think” he said, but you couldn’t hear with the sound of your slurping.
“And also, I may be a super dirty girl, like leave things out of their way, and cook horribly, and be super crazy, like really crazy. And maybe try to kill you on your sleep or something” you surprised yourself with the nonsense you were saying, it sounded better on your mind. But you think the message got across. His supressed laugh being a clear example of that.
He nodded at all you said, his gaze not leaving you one moment, really entertained by your monologue.
“Stop overthinking, and just take this as it is. It’s a weird thing to happen I get it, but it’s what has to be done.” He shrugged as he plated some chiken and rice on a bowl. “Also you think im gonna be overpowered by a five feet delivery girl whose weapons are a plushie and can’t even get her glasses to stay put for two minutes?”
You looked at him, frowning that he found this funny, and shook your head.
“Listen, I don’t know how much in danger im in, not really. We need to talk about it”
“You sound like a girlfriend”
“You wish” you scoffed as he nodded.
“In my wildest dreams you appear as the wife of a mob member, living in the biggest mansion with the finest jewelry and two kids running around.” You couldn’t tell if he was joking or not.
“But reality is that we have to get this figured out, we can talk about marriage later” he assured you as you gasped.
“Are you out of your mind?!” You put your mug on the counter, your hands on your waist.
“Like that, that pose. That’s exactly what a Korean mob wife would do and say. You get a hold of things really easily huh?” He smiled at you, looking at your body head to toe.
“Fuck off” you took your mug and stomped to your bedroom, closing the door and calling it a night.
Who did he think he is? Marriage? Korean mob wife? You could admit you had the hots for him, but that was pushing it too far.
You sat on the, now yours, bed, exhausted mentally from all of this, everything that was going on, jungkooks personality being dumb and attractive, how could that be.
You preferred to get in bed and close your eyes before a raging migraine threw you off.
You moved slowly on the bed, your limbs sprawled on top of your head, your head moving side to side slowly as you let out a soft sigh, you moved your legs a bit, sensing something hard in between them.
Two hands found their way in your hips, gripping them slowly as s sudden feeling of pleasure shot up your spine. You sighed a bit louder, your legs separating slowly, a set of big shoulders helping you.
A hot sensation in your most sensitive region, soft caresses and hot kisses were planted on you, slow and perfect strokes on your mound making you head spin.
You couldn't see anything clearly, your mind a fuzz, the only thing you knew right now was pleasure, as the feeling couldn't stop but raise rapidly as you tried to get a hold of yourself.
''That's it pretty, move yourself for me'' A deep voice rang from below the covers, you recognized that voice, and you could mostly recognize the feeling of his piercings against your skin. You couldnt believe yourself.
You reached for the blankets, and when you shoved them away, a flushed Jungkook looked straight in your eyes, his lips and chin shining, his big hands holding your legs, a twinkling reflection in his big eyes leaving him with the hottest and most adorable expression you could have imagined him.
''What's the matter?'' he asked, a slow grin coming in his face, as you couldnt recognize anything around you. What was happening? The room started to spin, your eyes blurry.
Your agitated breathing made way into your ears, your torso suddenly up from the bed, as you woke up from your feverish dream.
You looked around, trying to get a hold of reality, and brushed your hands on your face, trying to shake off that dream from your mind.
Oral from Jungkook? Really? You were having this dreams on his apartment for god's sake.
''Y/N?'' A voice shouted from outside your door, a worried Jungkook behind your door.
''Y-yeah?'' He didn't wait a second after he heard your voice to open the door, looking everywhere in search of something, and finally approached you.
''Is everything okay? I heard you from outside'' His worried frown made you gulp at his words.
There he was, worried about your safety, while your mind made up an incredible porno for you to fall asleep to.
''Yeah! Yeah, everything great, see?'' You awkwardly as you sat up, hands up as you could notice how he grew more confused.
''But-''
''No problem at all! I tend to talk when I sleep, that was probably it'' You nodded frantically, trying to convince him and on the way, trying to convince yourself too.
''You're blushing'' He said, the puzzle on his mind still not making sense. You panicked, your brain trying to think about something.
''Super hot! Its super hot in here, dont you think?'' You nodded and walked past him, opening a window and letting the freezing air come in.
''For fuck's sake Y/N, its like three degrees outside'' He closed the window you just opened, and squinted your eyes at you.
''You're acting weird'' He mumbled.
''You are the weird one!'' You accused him.
He looked at you, analysed your face, and then looked back to the bed. His brain seemed to never stop working, and when he looked back at you, his face changed, from confused to raising brows.
''Youve got to be kidding me'' He smirked as he connected the dots. Your flushed state, your ruffled sheets, your sudden nervous monologue.
''Im hungry, arent you hungry?'' You walked fast to the kitchen, your eyes searching for the basic ingredients, some milk and some cereal, getting them on the counter.
''Oh come on, tell me!'' He laughed while he followed, he couldnt believe that's what happened.
''Do you want some cereal? Is super good for the brain and stuff'' You were spitting bullshit, you couldnt even think straight. This was an awkward situation, even more weird if it was with Jungkook.
''How was it? Good? Were you with Brad Pitt? Leonardo DiCaprio?'' He approached your form, his body too close to yours, you noticed.
''Of course not, they're not my type''
''And what is your type, huh?'' He asked, his tall figure beggining to be overwhelming against your little breakfast making station you put in a second.
''I dont have a type'' You cursed at yourself.
''You're contradicting yourself'' He smirked and approached you, his hand making you turn, your attention full on him, his eyes matching with yours.
''Wont you tell me? Pretty please?'' He mumbled seductively, and you swore if he put up this fuckboy act a few seconds more you would regret it for a long time.
Your eyes couldn't stop looking at him, his hand now braver, coming behind you and resting on your lower back. Your hands still on the counter, your breathing grew agitated at his approaching face.
His lips almost reaching yours, his cologne hypnotizing yourself in a dizzy daze, his warm and protective form turned you on like never before right now.
The doorbell rang.
''Fuck'' He closed his eyes, his hand falling as he defeatedly walked to the door. You gulped, suddenly aware that the line you two were about to cross, and straightened your back, trying to get back to your breakfast.
''I have to go, something urgent came up'' He hurriedly said, his body moving from the front door to his office, then back to the kitchen.
You only nodded at him, frowning at the sudden urgency.
''Is everything-'' You tried to ask as his phone rang, he sighed and picked up the phone, gathering his jacket on the sofa and his keys on the coffee table. He absentmindedly looked through the place as he nodded.
''Yeah, I knew about that'' He said to his phone, approaching your figure and taking some cereals from the box, munching on them.
''Yeah, I'll be there'' He assured the caller, his voice now deeper, he approached you and suddenly laid a kiss on top of your head, signaling his goodbye to you.
Your eyes went big at his action, but he seemed to not even notice what he did. You were left there, blushing like crazy and with sudden silence on the apartment.
You sighed and shook your head, letting out a small laugh at this surreal situation.

You sighed and shook your head, letting out a small laugh at this surreal situation.

fanfic writing culture isn’t “oh dang! I wanted to write about this prompt with this character but someone else already wrote it, so now I can’t”.
fanfic writing culture is always “two cakes is better than one. the more the merrier. there can ever be enough fics of this character with this prompt!”
haii, I loved the blue hour series! I was wondering will there be a part 4? It’s so good!😋
hi theeree!!!
my first ever ask lmao, here's a rose for you bb 🌹🌹
im so happy that you liked it!! I actually began that series like eight months ago, but dropped it as it got very little traction ( i forgot i turned off the option on my settings for people to see my posts, so obviously it got no notes lmao).
i actually read it recently and have a couple drafts ready for the next chapters, so yeah i'll continue it!!
i was even surprised about the incredible dynamic oc and jk have so, of course i had to continue writing for it!! stay tuned!!
and thank you very much for reading my stuff!! love you
summary: A night shift on your delivery girl job makes your life make a 180 spin, you cant believe where you got yourself involved in, will you lose everything you worked so hard for? Will Jungkook be there to catch you if you fall?
pairing: deliverygirl! fem reader x mafia! jeon jungkook
genre/warning: fluff fluff and some comedic slips lol. heavily inspired by The Sopranos, jk is in the mob heheh, tropes like forced proximity, adorable jk of course, hunged jk, wanted to make this a bit comedic, dont know if i served good laughs tho.
Jungkook is hooked, oc is kind of in denial of course, namjoon is the leader of fucking course. Biker kook! Bad boy kook, idk
''So they owe us money?'' Jimin asked incredulous.
''They do, but we cant make any move'' Namjoon's words were met with protests and groans. ''For now''
The group of men, scattered around the cold room looking confused and mad at their leader.
''What do you mean? That money is ours, we cant just turn the other cheek'' Jungkook groaned at him, his eyes searching for an answer on those of his mates.
''You're right, but we have to think this through. This is not just another group of dumb children playing bad guys, this is a rival mob, so we need to come up with a plan'' He assured the boys, nodding as he spoke, and sighed as he noticed understanding from them.
''This is bullshit'' Taehyung whispered, shaking his head and leaving the room.
''It's reality, so get your asses to somewhere else and think of something, we''ll talk later''
''Later? We should just go and kill those fuckers'' Yoongi spat out of spite and frowned his brows, followed with agreement of the others.
''You won't'' Namjoon's voice got deeper, his frown more apparent. ''You'll fuck up everything'' He raised his voice a little at those words, making Yoongi stand up and raise his eyebrows,
''I will? Then what about the dumb fuck who got hacked and gave the rivals a huge percent of what we so hard earned'' That made the leader's blood boil, his figure walking to Yoongi, his eyes defiant.
ding dong
The bell rang. Everything paused, everyone looked around, highly suspicious of the situation.
Joon raised his eyebrows at each one of them.
''I didnt order anything'' Jimin muttered as he shrug his shoulders.
Namjoon let a sigh at his comment and shook his head.
''Turn off everything''
You waited patiently, pizzas in hand, after ringing the doorbell. Your feet were killing you from working as much hours as you physically could, but costumer service was everything. Maybe they would give you a big tip for being kind, yeah.
You waited for a minute or two until ringing again, and as your fingers touched the bell the second time, the door opened, but no light came through.
''Happy Pizza, good evening'' You automatically said, you were sure it was gonna be burned on your vocabulary forever by now. You waited for something or someone to come out of the door, but nothing happened.
What the hell was going on? This was just like a horror movie. Was a herd of zombies going to get out of there running and eat your brains? Or worst, a vampire. Nah, a vampire was kind of hot even. Maybe there was a killer inside, some guy who got a horrible childhood and now was off killing delivery pizza girls.
A shiver went down your spine, and gulped as you tried to see inside the door.
''Here's your order!'' You tried again, a little more chirpy and loud, but scared as shit nonetheless.
Your hand reached out to the door, but before you could touch the wood, the door opened suddenly, and as you searched for the reason of that, you could only stare at a black sphere blocking your vision.
''Who sent you'' A deep voice said, and as your brain registered the gun pointed at you, your eyes went as big as saucers, your hands coming up at your sides, dropping the pizzas.
''Im delivering pizza'' Your voice was shaky, your eyes closed tightly waiting for the worst.
''I said who sent you'' The man kept staring at you, pointing his gun at you, and making this goddamn question over and over again.
''N-no one I swear, i-im just doing my job'' You answered in a state of panic, your eyes opening to at least try to get this man's face, and looking around if anyone could help you now.
''A job huh?'' He asked, as if he discovered America, and suddenly your back was pressed into a wall, the gun pressed right on your head as his body pushed you more and more between him and the wall.
''Please!'' Your cheeks were now wet, your eyes spilling tears in panic. What the fuck was even happening? You just were doing your job, and waiting desperately to get home, get your pajamas on and just watch your favorite show. What was world's joke for you to have this psycho treat you like you were el chapo?
''Please! I just deliver pizzas! I dont know anything'' You could hear his grunt in your ears as he pushed the gun even harder into your head.
''Jesus Taehyung let her go'' A distant voice beside you said, a big hand gripping your arm and another man pushing the beast with the gun aside. You tried to regulate your breathing, your heart going a thousand miles per hour, your cheeks red and ears ringing. You gulped as you were dragged into what looked like a kitchen, a messy one at that, and yelped as the man turned you around.
''I dont know anything I swear, I-im innocent I didnt do anything'' You tried to plead for your life, but he just looked at you with the most relaxed face on earth, you were in a foreign house, with what looked like a large group of men, and you just got a gun pointed at your head, for fuck's sake!
''I know, I know, relax'' The man said to you, his hands gripping your arms so you could stop flipping around mindlessly. Your eyes fixated on him and gulped, you frowned at his demeanor, his gaze calm and nodding at you as your breathing got a bit more even.
You decided to keep your mouth shut as the male's voices filled the next room, they were fighting about something but you couldnt make out the words right. You could only recognize the language they spoke.
The man in front of you brushed your hair out of your face and fixed your glasses, something you didnt expect for men who were seconds away from killing you. This was the strangest situation youve ever been on, and the deadliest one.
''Are you korean?'' They asked you as they were now fewer men in the place, the one who pointed the gun at you was nowhere to be seen.
You nodded at the man, his big frame sitting in front of you, his eyes never leaving your form.
''Can you speak korean?''
''Only a few words'' You responded in korean, and looked intensely at the glass of water in front of you.
''Dont worry about the water, we didnt poison it'' You eyes went big at that, as it didn't occur to you, gaining a silenced laugh from the earlier guy, the boy with black hair and tattoos all over his hands, he seemed to be the most chill one, paradoxically.
''Why are you here?'' The man asked you, his hands fixated on your uniform.
''I told you, Im delivering pizzas'' You murmured, afraid of raising your voice in case another one of them tried to kill you without any reason.
He nodded at that, his brain working non stop, his slanted eyes looking at you like he was waiting for something to happen.
''What is this address?'' He asked. What is this? A test?
''I dont know, s-somewhere between the old lake and the city center'' You responded honestly, your hands trembling on your lap, growing really agitated at the future of this. Were they going to kidnap you? Kill you? Keep you chained here for all of eternity?
''Blueberry muffin'' Another man said, completely serious as everyone looked at you, your brows frowning at what stupid nonsense he just said. You looked at everyone of them, waiting for something rational from any of them, but it didnt work. It seemed as they were waiting for your next move.
You slowly shook your head, your frown increasing as you gulped. ''We do have them in the menu'' You whispered at them, your voice rasped while you spoke. The tattoo guy let out a scoff and sat up abruptly, making you afraid of his response.
''She doesn't know anything'' He assured as he turned to the other man. ''Can we stop this nonsense now?'' He raised his brows as his feet walked to you.
''Yeah'' The leader guy nodded as he stopped deep in thought right where he sat.
''W-what?'' You murmured as the tattooed boy took your arm and sat you up from the chair. His other hand going to the glass of water that was once in front of you and drinking from it, ending with a sigh from his end and a wink to you as he finished the glass.
''Show is over, delivery girl'' He said, in the coolest demeanor ever you think you saw anyone. His hand leading you to the door as you looked around, everyone dispersed now.
The door opened as he show you out, your frame turning to him on the foot of the door.
''D-do I just... go?'' You asked, you couldnt believe what was happening now. What sense did this make, like, at all?
''Mhm'' he nodded, a little smile on his lips as his frame rested on the frame of the door, arms crossed in front of him, his tattooed stupid biceps straining the short sleeved shirt he wore.
''Like...actually go?'' You frowned even more at his relaxed posture, you almost died by the hands of a maniac and this dud was just chilling!
''Do you want dinner? To show you around the neighbourhood and eat ice cream?'' He shook his head as he joked at you, his eyes closing for a second at the dumb questions you apparently made.
''Y-you almost killed me!'' You protested, your frown apparent on you face as you tried to grip on reality.
''You shouldnt be around here'' His face turned serious in a second, his eyes tracing you from head to toe, stopping at your shirt, your glasses, and lastly your eyes.
''Its not a safe neighbourhood. Get your bike and go'' He demanded of you and a scoff got out of you before you could even register it. Did you fall on your way here and now you were hallucinating? Did you accidentally eat one of those magic brownies Yoona makes?
He looked both sides of the street before he approached you, his frame making you look up at him as his face turned deadly serious, and expression so serious you were beginning to be scared for your life all over again.
''Are you deaf?'' He raised his brow, his head signaling to your bike as his eyes never left yours.
You gulped and shook your head, your eyes looking up at him as your gaze roamed around his enviably clear skin and shiny eyes he sported like a cute deer.
''You sure act like it. This is your last warning'' His voice took a big deep tone that made you shiver and nod, forcing yourself out of the trance and almost running to your bike. The pizzas you threw earlier now out of the way, thankfully. The last thing you needed now was to slip on one of those and fall like a bugs bunny character in front of what you felt like the most attractive and dangerous man you ever encountered.
The frame of your glasses wobbled a little as you put your helmet on, your eyes never leaving his as his didnt move from yours either. Only when you pedalled from the sketchy apartment complex, he looked away.
''Already here?'' Yoona, sprawled on the sofa, asked as you passed the threshold.
''Yep'' You sighed and took off your jacket and shoes.
''Mhm, bad night?'' She popped one popcorn on her mouth and turned down the TV.
''Some psycho tried to kill me'' You explained as you walked to the kitchen, you needed something to eat for the storytime.
''Excuse me?'' Her high pitch voice rang through the living room, her feet padding into the kitchen.
''Yeah'' You giggled as you put some bread on the toaster.
''I need you to tell me everything'' She laughed, but before you could say anything she suddenly turned serious. ''Wait, you are okay right? No hurt for my girl?'' She took you from your arms and turned sideways a couple of times.
You smiled at that and shook your head.
''Im okay, no worries'' You grabbed a handful of popcorn as you started spilling everything that happened to her. Her big eyes fixed on you as she leaned on the kitchen island, listening carefully.
''He just pointed a gun at you, and then they all acted like nothing happened?'' She asked, frowning.
''Yeah, I mean, it was really scary. But ultimately they didnt do anything to me'' You finished your toasted sandwich and took a big bite out of it.
''And you knew them?'' You shook your head.
''No, not at all. I can only recall two of them. One big buffy guy, and the other one also buffy, but with tattoos and black hair, and a couple piercings, and like big black eyes.'' Yoona smiled at you and nodded.
''That's hot'' She laughed with you.
''Yeah, hot, but like i said, scary as fuck'' You shook your head and continued eating.
''Maybe you need a break Y/N'' She whispered caringly at you, a soft expression on her face.
''Im fine'' You shook your head. ''At least I get the memory of a hot tattoed man for my dreams tonight'' You joked as she laughed, and you both got to do your thing. She got back to watching her favorite drama, as you took a shower and prepared everything to go to sleep.
You moaned in comfort as your back hit the bed, your hair sprawled on your pillow as you drapped your duvet over you. The sound of something falling startled you, so you went to look for the object in question, a thick paper.
You frowned as you got back up, your hands picking the paper up and reading carefully what it said.

Your mind kept replaying the date you had with him. Your spontaneous trip to the beach, how you felt with him just standing there. The soft breeze around you and his hands on your body.
It felt like something out of a fairytale. You felt a connection, a sudden feeling warming your heart whenever you looked at him. His big smile and bunny teeth greeting you whenever you made a silly joke.
His gentle presence and the confidence radiating off of him. That warm sensation on your chest slowly growing bigger this past week. Each time you mind wondered to him without notice, his presence a little ray of light, a little capsule of hope and happiness you could only imagine when you watched those dramas with your mom.
But almost everytime, a dreading feeling appeared just after. Your thoughts replaying his reaction at the end of the date.
You were just about to kiss him when reality downed on both of you, on him. He saw your reality, not an act you were used to pull.
You didn't -purposely- kept it a secret, but it was much easier to just pretend your routine didn't exist whenever you met new people. It was easier that way. You didnt have to put up with uncomfortable questions, sad eyes and fleeting comments taking pity on you.
It happened countless of times. When you finally let the sadness and tiredness that came from being you show, it was either a relationship built on pity, or the sudden and slow disappearence of the other person.
Before now, it only happened with people you were ready to consider friends, and this was the first time it happened with someone you hoped you could build a connection with.
It was devastating, watching everything vanish from your hands, and the worst of all, making yourself forget the memories you made with that person, everything that once was something you looked forward to.
You are aware you only knew him for two weeks, but the moments you shared were being treasured on your heart. His presence growing on you. Making you wait for him unconsciously while you checked people out on the counter. Your eyes moving, almost unconsciously, to the door. Hoping for him to appear out of nowhere, buy something just for an excuse to make you laugh with a ridiculous joke, and make your routine a bit more bearable.
You let Jihyo convince you, not that this was her fault, but you felt as if everytime you tried to expand your circle, your life ruined it for you.
You let the positivity of her words get way in your head. Your mind replaying her words
« I deserve this, a chance for another life, for another perspective »
Bullshit.
You loved her inmensely, you weren't mad at her, you were mad at yourself, mad at whoever came up with the fake positivism.
How did you let this happen again.
You felt like a fool, like you let him in for nothing. A kind of disappointment settled deeply on your bones. Even if you felt a little harsh to feel like that towards him, you could't deny it. Disappointed at the universe to put him in your way just to get rid of him on such short notice. Disappointed in him for not sticking around a bit more.
Its not like you chose this life - you always tell yourself- you're only doing my best with what you have. But lately, oh, how you wish you were just another careless girl raised between cushions and wealthy families. It would have made everything easier.
A life where you could do whatever you wanted, where you could spend all the money in the world, where a sudden raise on your electricity bill didnt make you feel like you were about to colapse. A life where you're a frat girl, with tons of friends and cute clothes.
Fuck, you would be on top of the world if that was you, a dream like reality where-
“Hey girl! Did you fuck him yet?” The brute words of your friend greeting you when you stepped on the shop shook you out of your trance. Her words, which would have made you laugh on any other day, made you look up at her with tired eyes. How you wish it was that simple “Oh-”
She frowned at you, that same pity look you recognized in anyone now on her face. Even if it was the same expression, you didn't hate it coming from her. She knew everything about you, you shared almost all of your life together, best friends since you were kids. You let yourself be confident that she wouldn't disappear one day, you granted yourself that little hope.
“Are you okay baby? Did he do-” Before she could continue talking, you closed your eyes and raised a hand.
“Time out” You softly said, a small smile on your face as you pecked her cheek and walked straight to where your work vest waited for you in the back room. Your mind was already too fed up, too angry, too sad. Everything all at once. You preferred to talk about it later, you knew you wouldn't handle the conversation as you wanted. You would vomit all of your worries to her, and she didn't deserve that.
You two were used to talk about everything and anything. Sharing countless secrets, struggles and problems. But when time out was said, everything stopped.
You two came up with that code the day you lost your father. Her worried body, high on adrenaline and a need to fix everything, she couldnt help but keep talking, hugging you, giving you food. Taking care of you in an excessive manner. It was inmensely important to you to have her in your life, but some times, it was all too much.
That was how you two agreed on that word. When you both knew that it was just a little too much to handle in the moment, and would talk later, you said those two words.
She understood inmediately, a small smile on her face and a short nod as she let you have space. Even if she was worried too. Head filled with rampant thoughts about what could have possibly happened that got you so sad, when all you have been these past two weeks was a bubble of light.
She noticed your giddy presence at work, whenever your eyes lingered on the door. She heard your giggles at the back of the shop when Jeongguk appeared, making you laugh and blush extremely. She sometimes caught herself staring, a small smile on her face at your excited form. Looking up at him with ease, and ultimately happy. That was a rare sight too see from you.
She knew about your story, and even if you carried all with responsability to the outside world, she knew that it would take little to nothing to see you crumble. You've been handling everything on your own for almost two years now. And you changed, of course you did.
Little glimpses of the old Y/N where rare to find, but still there. It was like if your real persona got buried in countless of bills, hours of work, and psychological worry.
But Jihyo made you a promise long ago, back when you were kids, to never part ways. Even if adult life was biting your ass every time you looked back.
The shift seemed to never end, the minutes feeling like hours passed. You busied yourself with doing your job, restocking, greeting customers, preparing orders. You two didnt talk at all that evening. Reserving your speech for another moment.
When the both of you finished, you met her at the back room, a little more relaxed and much more tired. You two hang your vests side by side.
“Want a beer?” She smiled soflty at you as you cracked a soft smile, nodding at her and walking out together. The other workmates replacing you on their shift.
The two of you bought a small bottle each. The two of you finding that patch of grass beside the river, where you spent countless of days on your early teenage years, talking and talking. About how your life was back then, about high school gossip. Things that in the past seemed really important, both of your grades, the latest news about some classmates, who they were dating, all of those significant moments now seemed insignificant.
Jihyo never pressured you on talking, she knew you. She would wait until you wanted to say something. She never initiated the conversation. It was easier for you to just spit your brains out.
“He met my mother” Those words sounded softly on the open space. The both of you sat on the grass, bottle in hand as you looked at the river flowing steadily.
She nodded at you, a signal that she was listening, even if you didnt need it. You knew she was there when you needed her, and viceversa.
“It was awkward, to say the least” you sighed and took a swing.
“It just began pouring down and, i didnt think, we just ran to take cover. It was going all so well” You smiled lightly.
“It's not like anything big happened, he just knows now” you nodded, scared you were exaggerating the situation.
“How did he react?”
“We-” you bit your lip and regained the breath you felt out when you remembered. “We were about to kiss” you suppressed a laugh at that, looking at her surprised face as you giggles.
“Really?” She waited for your response, waiting to live through your love life.
“Yeah” you laughed, your hands playing with the grass below your legs.
“And then my mom called for me” You shrugged your shoulders as she sighed.
“That cockblocker”
“Hey!” You laughed, her joke making you forget your troubles for a second. As the silent established itself again between the two of you, you resumed explaining.
“He just saw everything you know? I didnt even mention anything before, you know me”
“Of course” she nodded, drinking her beer.
“And we were like soaked, so i ran to get some towels. Bad decision, because i realized later that they were left alone. I dont even know what they talked about. And then, he insisted that everything was okay, that i didnt have to apologize. I felt like i had to explain to him, so i just told him about the accident.”
It wasnt easy for you to talk about that day, but you were willing to explain to him everything he needed to know, just for him not to disappear in a blink of an eye.
“And even if he kept reassuring me, i could just see it, like always, his absent mind as he looked everywhere but me, the short answers.” You sighed as you took another swing of your drink.
Her eyes scanned your profile, taking a breath in careful of what she was about to say.
“I think that's your problem” Her sudden words made you stop your inner monologue, a sudden shock on your body as you looked at her.
“What do you mean?” You whispered, afraid of her words. You felt like she was about to scold you, to even insult your character.
“I mean that- You have your life, your troubles. You need to own them” You frowned at her.
“It's hard, your life. Really hard. And I know it first hand. But hear me out on this, and dont get mad. No one will understand you the way you understand yourself. No matter how many times you explain it, nobody wont.” You gulped at her words, your brain trying to make sense of her words as you played with the little unpasted paper on your bottle.
“So own it, this is what it is. Youve been through hell to actually accept it, and you were even brave enough to move forward. That's nothing compared to someone that only has to understand” You bit your lip, her relaxed expression trying to get you to understand what she was saying.
“If a guy runs away or gets scared for something that isnt even his own life, then that's his problem”
Her words echoed in your head, her blunt words made you frown, trying to understand where she was coming from.
“I mean, it isnt easy to get involved in something like-”
“Y/N, its hard for you, not for someone that only has to understand and support you” She sighed and caressed your back slowly as you became a bit entranced at her words.
Your brain working overtime to analyze everything again. Maybe she was right, and maybe she was wrong too.
You got was she was saying, but you couldn't deny that the rawness of your reality may seem a bit heavy for anyone else. You barely have time, you're always tired. You're always on demand from your mother, and most importantly, your brain never rests. The state of panic never actually leaving.
“You're stronger than you know” She whispered as she looked absentmindedly at the river in front of you.
You took breath in, and sighed it out, your head nodding at her words as you kept on drinking your beer.
You two talked, and talked, about the state of your mother, of your debt, of your wellbeing. And you asked about her exams, the psychology major she was studying. You were proud of her.
Jihyo didnt come from a family of money either, and she worked hard to be able to pay her university major. She worked at the shop, and also has had saving since high school. You admire her attitude, hardworking and ever so hopeful. You wanted to be like her, looking up at her and trying everyday just to be a bit more like her.
After you two were done with your beers, and with your catch up conversation, you both rose up and walked slowly to your neighbourhood.
“You work tonight?” You nodded, checking the watch. 12:30 pm.
“Yeah, I'll just check up on mom and get going” She nodded as her eyes didnt leave you when you stopped talking. She went through your face, your nose, your lips, your big eyes. Your soft hair and the scar on your neck, the traits that made you who you were, and the ones she loved the most.
A sudden stop on your walk made you look at her, a small pout on her face as she hugged you hard against her making you chuckle.
“I love you so much” You laughed at her words and hugged her back.
“You get so emotional when you drink” You stroked her back, the sudden hug making your inside melt, and your brain stop for just some seconds, focusing on her arms around you.
“How can I not? Im so proud of you” She whispered close to your ear, her words making your eyeline water just for a second as you gulped down the lump on your throat.
“You're so sappy” You joked, the both of you separating as she sighed, continued walking.
She walked you to your home, saying goodbye with another big hug and a kiss on your head.
You smiled at her, your body a lot more relaxed after hanging out with her. You missed those moments with her, where time stopped and you could talk about everything going on both of your heads. You were to each other a piece that couldnt miss, and you treasured her presence in your life the most.
By the time you got home, your mother was sound asleep, a little note from your aunt on the kitchen assuring you she gaver her her meals and meds.
You felt a pressure lift from your chest, reading those words and appreciating her help. You were the youngest on the family, and since that damn day, it felt like you had the world on your shoulders. If you looked back, most of your memories were summed up in hospitals, home chores and work.
Your distant family did what they could, helping you taking care of mom when you were away, checking in on you, and having warm meals waiting for you if you ever went to their home. But nevertheless, you were the one aware of all of her appointments, her meds carefully arranged every start of the week, you kept track of the grocery shopping and made sure everything was as spotless as it could be.
It was a pity they couldn't make everything disappear like magic, even if you hoped every night for it. To wake up one morning and still have your father around, to never had been involved in this dark underworld. Have the freedom you felt you deserved, and not be running from a hungry lion that chased you constantly.
You used to have resentment, hatred for the world, for what put you through. Mad at destiny, for giving you such a unstable and unbereable outcome. You used to be mad at everyone, at your mom, at your friends, at your dad even. Every decision they made until now made you be where you are now. They didn't realize at that time that every misstep they took would affect directly onto their daughter in the future.
But as months passed, as you took in your surroundings, and as you realized what your life has became, you realized the only way out is through. You could only handle it as best as you could, and make sure you didnt lose yourself along the way.
You took a fast shower, your record time being two minutes and thirty seconds. It wasn't a comfort shower, one that you took after a long day ready to put on your pajamas for a relaxing evening. It was just a mere transaction to not smell like cardboard and ramen all night.
You took the late night bus to the biggest and more corrupt club in your city. Its big foundations and dark aura greeting you almost every night.
You were used to the internal codes, the words that the man shared, the people you saw coming in and out from these walls. It used to scare you, and confuse you. But you got used to it, even if you didnt imagine yourself in this place ever.
You had a late shift, a 5 hour long one that made sure it left you exhausted when you saw the sunrise. But it paid good, the triple amount you would get in a regular job. So it was something you couldn't deny.
“You can use that money to pay what you owe, whore” That's what Ggeum said to you when he assigned you to the cleaning staff of the club. He prided himself on giving you a job to do in his, what he called, empire. And he somehow, enjoyed the way you were below him, cleaning his mess after him and his employees.
You had to laugh at that, in your mind of course. The only thing that could be called an empire between these walls was the resilience and hope of the woman that danced in the poles.
He was a big and old guy that craved attention and validation, doing the most to keep his status intact, even if he was the loose screw on this underground world. Not everyone respected him, and some would even hate him. His ways were disgusting, how he treated women an insult to the so called traditional laws in the mob.
But he didnt care. He wanted power, money and reputation. And troubling him with moral matters only slowed the process.
You got in through the back door, your employee card beeping on the little electronic device just beside it. You already knew these walls, the secret corridors, the nasty bedrooms on the far left of the buildings. So your walk to the small cleaning room was familiar. A small room filled with big shelves storing all types of cleaning supplies, mops and some big boxes.
“Nice to see you babe” A tall and volumptuous girl said as she walked outside the room, not stopping to greet you but making sure she had your gaze when she slowed down her pace on the door.
“Good night Lia” You smiled softly at her and kept going through the cleaning supplies you needed. She was the first one you met when you started working here. She was a nice girl, not quite young as the others. She was presented to you by Ggeum, he always had one of the girls by his side. A complement, a prize.
The first thing she saw when you two met was a small, scrawny girl. You eyes sad, your energy grey. You were way too thin when she met you, way too fragile for this world. She saw herself in you, projecting a reflection she saw in the mirror a few years ago.
But you didnt have a choice, so she took it upon herself to explain to you everything that you needed to know. The secrets only one who was inside knew. How the girls worked, how Ggeum was, what you should and shouldn't do. She was your lighthouse, a strong woman that seeked to help you the only way she knew how.
You occupied your mind getting your cleaning supplies on the small cart you used. You had everything you needed to clean spilled drinks, drugs of the counter, vomit on the floor. Everything.
You also were assigned to clean the girl's 'bedrooms', where they worked. It surely was a shock, the way the sheets were always scrambled, drugs on the small bedside table, unnamed liquids you had to wipe. It disgusted you in ways you couldnt put into words, but you did what you did best, not think about it.
You made sure you had a few changing sheets on the far end of your cart, when a deep male voice made you turn around towards the door.
“Hey cutie, getting ready?” A tall man, with a big beard and slicked back hair greeted you. He wore a white suit, he worked here. His position? You didn't know. Probably one of the stakeholders of the business. They always came and went, only a few were the offical owners that controlled this place.
His big body walked slowly through the door, stealing all the light that came from the lightbulbs outside as he covered that much space. Like a demon dimming all of the lights in his passing.
“Y-yeah Im-” You werent able to finish your sentence, as your eyes saw his hands closing the door, his gaze turning darker as he locked it and approached you slowly. You felt like a prey, and he was the one to cause damage.
“Yeah, you better leave this place fucking spotless” He smiled sickly at you, a shiver running down your spine, your brain too overcrowded with panic to say anything back. Your hands gripped strongly on the rough blankets on your hands.
“Cat got your tongue?” He laughed at his own joke, and as soon as you opened your mouth to reply, his hands gripped your arms and banged your body to the wall behind you.
You felt the sharp pain on your back and the back of your head. It wasnt enough to do real damage, but his presence and brute force was making your body go in a state of panic you weren't sure how to handle.
You could feel his ragged breath, the alcohol and smoke smell coming from his mouth a disgusting odor that invaded the room. The pure disgust on his face as his left hand went from your arm to your neck in a swift move, his palm and fingers tightening strongly on your neck and nape. Your eyes opened widely at the sudden force and vulnerable position he has you in, a scared expression took hold of you on your face.
Your body began to shake, fearing the worst. You tried to breath through your nose as the air slowly left your lungs, his restriction making it impossible for you to breathe properly. Your two hands pasted on the wall, too scared to move. Ironically, waiting for a even more solid threat before fighting back. There was too much on the line.
“You disgust me, you know? Everytime you come around I have to spit on the ground, I can taste the venom on you” He said, his words impacting at your face as he made sure he talked loudly in this close distance, as if you were deaf.
You couldn't say anything, out of breath, out of words. This was it. Since you began working here, you were waitinig for the moment any of these bastards would abuse their position, beat you up, extort you, or something far worse.
“Answer me!” He shouted at you, his hand crashing your cheeks in between his thumb and his left four fingers, gripping you with a strength you were sure was going to leave a mark. The blankets you carried falling with a thud on the ground.
“You have little time left, Y/N, and the clock is ticking” His voice turned low suddenly, his grip lessening on your body as you breathed heavily looking at him, unmoving. His hand stayed on your neck, but no strength was put on your airways. Now, a small caress on the scar that went from ear to you lower neck.
“Tick tack, tick tack, tick tack” He laughed taking a step back from you, his eyes racking your body from head to toe, his dirty eyes scanning every part of you as he kept walking back. You noticed how his eyes stayed at your scar, at your hands, and of course, at your breasts.
He opened the door at last, spitting to the ground as he looked at you one last time, and getting out laughing like a maniac. And when you finally watched him leave, your body collapsed inward. Your hands on your knees as you tried to regain your breath, your cheeks flushed from the restriction of air from his grip on your neck.
You tried to calm your racing heart, your hands trembling as you closed your eyes. You tried to control your breathing, in and out, in and out. The sudden diziness on your head making you squat on the ground. Your back and head to the wall as you ran your hands through your face. Your eyes fixated on the open door and the corridor that let anyone see inside.
You felt your heart going too fast and too slow at the same time. You felt it through your back, on your chest, on your head. Your hands trembled intensely, holding them together to regain a bit of your lost composure. Your eyes going from the ground to the opened door when you heard those sharp heels clicking on the floor.
It was Lia, she walked again in front of the room, looking at you as you managed to nod at her. She, again, never once stopped her slow walk. In another circumstance, she would have ran to you, defended you with that man, coddled you and made sure you were okay. But she couldnt, she was risking herself to something way worse than what just happened to you.
So you nodded at her, a signal to let her know that you were okay, as she resumed her walk.
You shook your head and stood up. This was a warning, a threat. You knew you were slowly running out of time, but you felt hopeless. How much money could you gain and lose at the same time, paying a too far high debt for something you didn't even do.
Were you doomed to die here? For them to kill you a random evening? What would your mother do? Would she get so depressed to the point of no return? Would your debt go to your family? Would they finish them too?
You ran to the bathroom, hand on your mouth as you dropped all of your meals in the toilet. Your hands on the walls on your sides as you tried to get this sudden nausea over with. Your thoughts way too dark, your mind making up gore pictures of you loved ones. Your panic state making you reject everything on your stomach, reminding you of past times, when everything was too much to handle. Too much to not hurt yourself, to make sure this wasn't a dream.
Or better said, a nightmare.
“No fucking way”
All of them looked at each other, waiting for an answer to this situation. Anything that could make this make sense.
“Sorry but, who is Kang Soo?” Jimin asked, his eyes on each one fo the members, not getting what suddenly happened.
“He was a member” Jin murmured, his head hanged low as his brain working overtime to remember the story of that man.
“An ex member, he tried to leave” Namjoon explained, looking at his men with a frown, he too, tried to understand everything unfolding.
“So she's not a random person” Jeongguk stated, a mix of a hopeful and stressed look in his eyes.
“He- He died in a car accident yes, but, I dont remember everything that happened, very little was known of it” Namjoon once again returned to his desk, searching for something to give him information on the accident.
“He belonged to the south, he was a gang member” Jin explained, answering the confused stare Jimin had on his face. “He worked with Hyungso, my brother, we could talk to him”
Jimin relaxed a little, knowing Jin’s brother was familiar with your father was a bit more reassuring. A environmennt they controlled. Even if Jin dreaded the moment he had to call his brother for any help.
They didn’t have the best relationship, mostly on Jin’s part than in Hyungso. He was much older than Jin, her mother being barely 17 when she had him. That fact alone told a lot about his upbringing, and he only did what he could to help his family. Get in the sketchiest but fastest money making mob in the city.
Jin was in it too, he didn’t do admirable things to get where he was now. His brother got him in it, teaching him about guns, money, and death since he was sixteen. That was how he showed brotherhood. Bringing his younger brother into the underworld, surround him with greedy man and dirty money.
On the bright side he could see, that thanks to his involvement he could meet Namjoon. And in consequence, the rest of the gang. At least he had them.
Jeongguk couldnt believe it. He didnt know what to feel. Your father being a gang member was a surprising piece of information he didnt expect.
“She uses her mother surname, that's why we didnt notice” Jin recalled the letters on the envelope, your details.
“But-”
“Yoongi, call Hoseok, we need all the information we can get” The serious tone of his leader made everyone stand straight. Yoongi took his phone and searched for the number of the man.
Jeongguk didn't know what to do with himself. They should have investigated more, they should have noticed something was wrong. They should have connected the dots early on.
But maybe, if they rejected the envelope in an instant, you would have been dead by now. The deal handled by another gang.
His heart did a sommersault at that thought. His brain conjuring images of your body, lying lifeless on a ditch. Your face on a corpse, unmoving.
A shiver ran through his body at the thought, his throat closing, making it hard for him to breathe correctly, a heavy pressure on his chest.
At least his mates knew this wasn't something random. And for now, they've forgotten about the hit. About what he had to do with you.
And he couldn't help but think, that this could be your ticket to set you free.
Or the reason that could get you far down, six feet underground.
Meanwhile, on the other room, Yoongi paced slowly. His brain trying to understand what happened, who you were, and what was going to happen now that there were far too much connections to your case that they thought.
He arranged a meeting with his father tomorrow morning, as soon as they could before this got out of hand.
“Yoongi?”
“Hey Hoseok, it's me. We need info, could you come by?”
heeeeeeey, oc is kinda dramatic?? maybe hehe but I tried my best to give this the edge it needs before the big thing happens lmao.

masterlist
“How did it go?” The deep voice of the leader made both of them look up.
“It was good” The younger said, his hands playing with the papers in front of him.
A stack of files ready for him to go through them. They contained a wide range of information. Mostly contracts with another mob members and gangs, dirty money and selling agreements.
“It went great Joon-ah, he has her so love struck” Jimin giggled as he fixed his shoes. He felt confident in this one. There was no doubt that Jeongguk was good at what he did. He was able to shift his appearance, from innocent to intimidating.
It was one of his best abilities, ho he was able to almost shape shift depending in the context and lead the situation wherever he liked. That was the main trait he carried on the group.
Jin and Namjoon knew each other for a long time, you could say they started their own gang, shaping it as time passed. Developing different strategies, getting to know the business in a deeper sense, and ultimetely decide to keep it growing. Back then, Yoongi got involved when he was found by Jin. He was an outsider, he worked in his own, making minor deals, selling drugs and guns to the upper gangs.
He liked living like that, with no strings attached. He was free, as one can be in the mob, his deals clear and his bills payed. His calm but sharp demeanor made his name a lot more respectable on the field. He wasn't afraid of anything, or anyone, doing what he had to do, and enjoying it while at that. He had to make it work one way or the other, and that's how Jin was able to convince him.
They assured him he had nothing to lose, but a lot to gain. A back up plan of sorts. He would be able to make more deals, and with that more money. He had them, two people that could make greater deals, bigger opportunities working in group than alone. If they were a team, they could handle bigger cases that involved backup safety plans, they could distribute roles and be more prolific.
Once he was in, they quickly got used to their way of working. Working together and separately. He made a deal about drugs and guns, he was the expert of that, and the one assigned to deal with different organizations around asia and eastern europe, and that's how he met the youngest ones.
He found it funny, how he couldnt see eye to eye with them. The deal being impossible to close as the two of them kept haggling Yoongi. Offering more and more, palying with the price and quantity as they seemed fit.
He couldnt believe the two shameless teenagers, that just like him had nothing to lose, their smart negotiation ended with them in the gang too.
Namjoon was the leader, he exceeded all of them in patience and expertise, he gathered all of their traits and bottled them in him. He grew fond of all of them, a sort of camaraderie feeling between them that would take a lot to break. The gang had been active for a very long time, and they knew each other for a bit longer than ten years. So it would be impossible to even think of betraying any of them.
They worked perfectly together, balancing each other out, understanding and sincere. And that's much more of what you could expect with the man in the mob.
“It will take shorter than we expected so,”
The tall leader nodded, fixing the glasses on his nose as he scanned the room, taking in consideration both of their demeanor. He had that habit, to make sure that nothing was out of his hands, that he understood everything with one look, even if sometimes that was impossible.
He could sense something was off, the usual easiness Jeongguk carried now vanished. His usual untroubled persona was nowhere to be seen, insted a troubled expression took over him.
Namjoon kept his mouth shut as he listened to Jimin's words, all the information they gathered while he met you. His monologue of information making Jeongguk uncomfortable, his body shifting on the wooden chair.
But Namjoon wanted to get to the root of his issue.
He couldn’t figure out what was going through his head. Jeongguk didn’t one day show up in this world, he built a name, a reputation. He had a lot of experience under his arm.
Countless of street fights, dumb car racing on the outskirts of the city and underworld deals made him who he was. Made him be one of them.
His thoughts cut off as the younger spoke.
“She even gave me her number, dumb dumb girl” The younger laughed suddenly, his posture a bit more relaxed as he slumped back his seat. “She doesn't suspect anythin, we're clear”
Namjoons eyes shifted between the two of them, trying to decipher the situation. Long gone was the trouble on Jeongguk's eyes, now replaced with a playful smile, his hands fiddling with his phone.
Jeon's internal thoughts: it was easier this way. No feelings involved. It was something obvious in this way of life, the distance he created between the people he treated with, and something he never did. Not once breaking the rule of no thinking twice on his deals.
He couldnt understand why it was being so hard to get through his head. Why now. Why with you.
And also, his weird feelings didn’t even make sense. He only worked on this for a couple of weeks, he reasoned. Only met you in fleeting moments. You were a nice girl, but he couldn’t get hung up on something that only existed in his head and in a lie. There was too much to lose.
“As I said, he’s got it controlled” Jimin smiled proudly at his mate’s cooperation, his lidded eyes scanning his friends.
“Okay, how about we make a move?” Namjoon inquired calmly, if you were that trusting of him, then why not get this over with already?
“Already?” Jimin stole Jeongguk’s words in a heartbeat.
Namjoon wanted a reaction out of him, but the only thing he could gather was a sudden stiff on the younger one’s shoulders, quickly shaken off.
It seems like Jeongguk decided to have his mind in this, not his dick.
“Yeah, take her out and make sure to finish this off”
The leaders words were simple, his directions already clear as he nodded at them and left the room, his steps clicking in the wooden floor as he walked down the corridor.
Jeongguk got again caught on his thoughts. He was supossed to take away your life on a random evening. A murder of an inocent person. One could argue he was used to random violence, but not with an innocent girl like you.
He killed, of course he did.
A young man, a scammer guilty of ruining countless of families lives and savings.
A middle age bastard, trafficking young girls from poor areas of Seoul to work for him selling their bodies.
An abuser, one that made sure his wife didnt leave home, ever. One that abused and punched her until she expected to die. That's when she requested their services.
His job of commiting atrocious acts, covered in a 'hero' title. There were always people benefiting from his acts, postive benifits.
But this was just throwing his moral compass around with no direction.
He looked around, his eyes scanning the small room where jimin and him normally worked in. The dark walls, the light on top of his head, flickering unusually.
He got to be a part of something, no longer the trouble homeless kid, begging for food and housing to anyone he might know. No longer living with Jimin in a shithole, putting up with humidities and cold showers.
He was privileged now, a roof over his head, a luxurious one, workmates that passed that cold title long ago, now more like family.
He worked hard to get this, to be able to accomplish anything he wanted. To save up, and be able to live comfortably around some of the best people he got to meet.
He had to do it.
There wasn't much more to think about.
Looking into perspective, he didn't even know you, and you were a mere random person in a sea of people that crowded the city.
So he shut his thought off, his decision was clear.
As more time passed, you saw each other a lot more. His impromptu visits on the shop never failed to surprise you. His presence, without notice, made you look forward to your shifts.
You two could only talk for so long, sometimes the shop got so busy he just paid his things and went his way, chatting shortly about your day. But the surprise of finding him there, watching his frame walk to you with confidence and sparking a easy conversation with you made your heart flutter a bit more each time. Jihyo was just as excited for you as you were with this hit of luck.
She grew eager to know eveything, what did you talk about, at what time he usually came over, how cute and flustered you looked at every encounter.
Those visits led to texting you a bit more often. Your conversations going from simple ‘how are you doings’ to silly videos you liked on instagram.
He called you one evening, his mask on once again.
He planned for a date close to your home, in hopes that you, on some random thought, invited him over. He didn't even expect sex or anything, not at all, just a chance to get this over with.
The date was simple, just an encounter where he could flirt with you, and get the objective cleared, step foot on your home, and never see you again.
You two met before your shift at four pm, a lunch you both devoured on a random bench on the street. The conversation running freely again, and he took the chance to enjoy a bit of your company even if he would dim the light of your eyes in a matter of two hours.
You two took a walk after you were done with eating, leading you to the small beach area on your neighbourhood.
The sun was shining, a nice temperature around you, and a feeling of joy you almost forgot existed running through your body.
“Should we dip our toes in?” You laughed as you turned to him, an unforgettable smile on your lips as your hair swayed freely with the light wind. Your image rendered him speechless for a second.
His eyes couldn't believe what he was seeing. The light of the sun making your skin look beautiful, shining even. Your eyes closing as you smiled, your soft and long hair caressing parts of your frame he may had caught himself fantasizing about a couple of times.
You waited for his response, your eyes on his frame. He looked even more handsome today than when you had coffee. Or maybe was the daylight that made you appreciate him even more.
His eyes were shining again, the way they did that night. His soft hair, parted in the middle, grazing his forehead. His big arms covered in a soft long sleeved shirt that made you want to steal it from him and never give it back. The wind making his cologne run to you, a big wave of musky and masculine smell that left you dazed.
“Sure, yeah” He smiled brightly as you nodded, walking with you to the shore. Your frame wobbling as you walked, the sand making your walk more than unstable. And he took the opportunity to slip his hand on your waist, assisting you and making your face go ten times redder.
“It looks like the water's freezing” You laughed as you dropped your bag on the sand, your hands untying your shoe laces, getting ready for the soft feeling in your toes. He didn't reply, his eyes on your hands as they worked swiftly in your shoes and working to the low parts of your pants.
“Let me help” he mumbled as he suddenly kneeled in front of you, his hands gathering up the fabric on your ankles until they were in a suitable height above your knees.
Your eyes widened at his actions, your throat suddenly caught up on itself as you tried not to react. His big hands on your pants and impossibly close to your legs, making images appear on your head at incredible speed. He looked beatiful kneeling before you. Your view of his wide shoulders and back bent over your knees as he rolled up your jeans. His veiny hands getting closer and closer to your thighs.
And he couldnt take his eyes off of you. His gaze roaming the soft skin on your legs, the beautiful shape of them suddenly on show just for him. Your smooth skin almost reflecting the sun, your delicate scent making his way to you, intoxicating.
You smelled like vanilla mixed with fabric softener, a smooth fragrance he noticed everytime he was around you.
The rough fabric now out of the way for his eyes to admire the soft reflections on your skin, and he couldnt help but add a slight caress to them, eager to just feel it for a second.
Without much thought after, the too of you were standing at the shore, the feeling of the waves crashing at your feet as you giggled your way through your screams at the cold temperature.
“It isn't that bad” He joked as he couldn't hold the expression of discomfort on his face. His eyebrows frowning and his mouth bunched up as you laughed at him. The sudden cold water running a chill through his body, making every hot sensation from his thoughts earlier now disappear..
He couldn't decide if it was because of the water, or the way your bright laugh echoed through the empty beach, but his heart sat lighter on his chest. An easy sensation he didn't feel on a long time.
He was entranced in the moment, for a second forgetting what he was here for, admiring your big smile and the way you couldn't stay still for a second.
As you grew accostumed to it, the two of you stood there, looking at the waves crashing on your toes and smiling softly, a comfortable silence around you.
“Look at how many fishes there are!” You exclaimed as you noticed the small languid bodies of small fishes circling both of your feet. The waves of water they created rubbing your feet making you notice them.
“Be careful, they bite”
“Do they? Ah-”
You screamed at the sudden tickles he pressed on your sides, your hands coming to hold his, trying to get him away from you, even if your laugh couldn't stop from coming out.
He smiled brightly as he didn't stop his ministrations, his frame approaching you constantly as you stayed retreating back.
“Stop!” You screamed through a laugh, your hands now strongly gripping his fore arms. And as both of your laughs seemed to keep from a sound to interfere, a big strendenous 'bang!' loomed over the two of you, making you startle.
His fingers stopped, but his hands stayed on your waist. Both of you looking up at the sky, realizing the heavy cloud on top of you. A big, dark and cloudy body of water waiting to pour down on both of you.
Your heads moved in sync, once looking up to the cloud now looking at each other. You two laughed histerically, the sudden appearence of the rain made it feel like a script of a cheap romance movie. But he couldn't care less, holding your hand as both of you took off sprinting, getting your shoes on in record time as the small droplets of water started dripping on top of you.
“We got to get out of here” You loudly said as you tied your shoelaces, his boots slidin easily on his feet as he took his socks and your bag.
“Come on!” He laughed as he once again took your hand, running through the sand to the concrete pathway on the other side of the beach. The droplets increasing as you both ran somewhere to take cover.
“Where are we going?” He shouted at you as the two of you ran through people opening their umbrellas and taking cover of the sudden summer storm that took over the city in a matter of seconds.
“Just come with me” You laughed at the situation. The two of you running through the city, hand in hand. A buzz of adrenaline took over you, an emotion of pure joy and laughter on your body that seemed to stay there through the minutes you spent with him.
You rapidly took the bag from him, taking out your keys and opened the small metal gate that led to your small garden. Your incesant running leading you to your house.
Both of your laughes didn't stop even when the two of you took cover on the little threshold above the main door of your home.
You looked at each other, the two of you were soaked from head to toe. The water got to the two of you even if you tried to run as fast as you could.
“God that was awesome” You smiled and giggled shortly trying to regain your breath. Your hands fiddled with the keys on your hand as you looked at him.
He was a sight to behold. His shirt now clinging to his frame, his wet hair strands on his skin as he tried to shake off the water on them. Leaving him with a spiky hair look straight out of a perfume ad.
“We should get inside” You smiled as you opened your front door, the thunder crowding your ears as the pitter patter of the water impacted on the floor.
He breathed in deeply, the realization of his objective now being complete bringing him back to reality.
Your home was warm, decorated with small cute trinkets and cozy blankets. A big family frame hanged on the corridor that led to your kitchen and living room.
“Im soaked” You laughed as you took off your shoes and left your bag on the small table in your entry way. He kept smiling, even if his head was in a milliion of subjects.
He scanned the place, noticing the single blanket on the couch, only your shoes on the entryway, the silence inside your house. Evidence that you did, in fact, live alone.
Even if the sight of the happy old portrait hanging on the wall made his mind spiral for a second. It hanged there like a statement, a sick reminder that, even if you lived alone, your story still remained. Your family, your friends, your passions. He stopped to admire the big frame, a cute picture of when you were little.
Your mother standing behind you making a funny face. Your father kneeling beside you, his hand hugging you as he made a roaring face. And you, dressed up on a cute lion costume, in the center of the picture. Your small hands and cute face making a lion like expression. A cute silly roar you imitated. Both hands covered with fuzzy gloves resembling lion's paws, and a big onesie covering your body.
He shook his head, forgetting about the picture as fast as he could. He had to make it happen, now. Before all of this lie got to his head. Before he thought twice about it.
His frame followed you, his head making a mental note of the soft and big pillow on the sofa.
“Sit here, i'll bring you a towel in a second” You assured him, both of you standing just in front of your couch. He bit his lip as you fastly arranged the sofa for him to sit down on.
He had to think fast, this was the moment.
He smiled at you as he held your hand, stopping your frantic actions to make your house look tydied up. His body now close to yours.
You turned slowly, his tall frame making you look up at him. His hand left your hand to take home on your waist. His half lidded eyes looking down at your shy face as he ran his left hand through your hair, stopping at the side of your face.
His thumb stroking lightly at your cheek as you tried to regain composure, cheeks blushing, brain going thousand miles per hour as you noticed the warmth coming out of him. His chest on yours as his face got closer and closer to you.
You could feel him as close as ever, smell his perfume, and feel the big frame of his over yours, making your eyes shine brighter.
You swallowed, your lips opening slightly, letting your raggered breath come in and out steadily. Your eyes traced his face slowly. The slump of his nose, his humid cheeks and soft lips now getting closer and closer.
You let it take over you, the sudden heavy atmosphere. His big hand on your waist, his thumbs caressing slowly without stop.
You felt his breath on your lips, his head tilting a bit as his hair grazed your skin. His hand brught you to him in a hard movement, your stomach completely close to his abs.
Your eyes closed slowly, waiting for the moment he would actually vanish the space between you, for the second you could feel his lips on yours.
As he got closer and closer to you, a voice cut the moment abruptly.
A soft call of your name reaching both of you as you widened your eyes instantly. Your hands separating his body from yours as if an electric shock had control of your body.
He frowned, not mad, but confused. The hand on your face slowly coming to his side as he saw your big gulp and nervousness, your hands on his chest, pushing him away.
“Fuck” Was the only thing you said as you took some steps back, coming back to reality. You were about to make out with a greek god out of a commercial while your mom was on the other room.
You had to get a hold of yourself.
“I-im sorry” You told him as you nervousness buzzed through you. “One second”
You excused yourself, clearing your throat as you walked to your mother's bedroom.
“Hey mom” You smiled softly at her, the blush on your skin never thinking about leaving as you tried to regulate your heavy breathing.
Mom? Didn't she live alone? Jeongguk thought.
His brain now concentrated in listening the conversation happening a couple of meters away.
“You're soaked baby” She looked worried at your wet clothes and hair. “You should dry yourself, you're going to catch a cold” You nodded at her worried words as your eyes searched for a towel on the bedroom.
Maybe her mom visited for the day, maybe she came to give her company or clean the house while she was away. Something that caring moms do, he had no idea. He suddenly panicked. If her mother was here, it was impossible to carry out the plan.
That meant he had to see you again, he had to take you out again and spend torturous hours with you.
Not torturous because he didn't enjoy them, but because every second that he spent with you reminded him of what his true motives were with you. How he was playing with you, giving you hopes. How he was expected to cold bloodingly kill you.
“Did someone come with you? I heard footsteps” She said softly as you remembered the tall boy on your own living room.
“O-oh yeah! I came with a friend” You smiled nervously at her, afraid of the awkward ecounter you were about to have. You didn't even think about it as you took cover instinctively in your home.
“Jihyo?” She raised her brows, her calm expression waiting for an answer coming from her daughter. You shook your head, dreading your split second decision you took of bringing him here. Couldn't you go to a café or somewhere warm with no troubled home matters? God you needed to think better.
“N-no, it's-”
“Good evening ma'am” The same boy you were stressing over, now walking carefully through your mom's bedroom door. A big lump on your throat as you tried to treat this with a normal demeanor.
“Hey there” She smiled ear to ear, her eyes dancing from you to him, her eyes appreciating the cute boy on her home.
This couldnt be true, he thought, as his eyes took the situation in front of him, even if it was the hardest connection eye to brain he had to do in his life.
A bed on the center of the room and countless of medical equipment on top of the furniture. A big white bag with a red cross stamped on it, and cute little plastic boxes filled with medicine greeting his eyes.
“Im Jeongguk, nice to meet you” He bowed at your smiling mom laying on bed, your nervous frame just beside him, taking everything in before you went crazy.
“You're so handsome- oh, be careful, you're leaving a trail of water” She pointed out worriedly as the subtle puddles of water formed below both of you.
“The towels” You said as an eureka moment, leaving the room to retreat clean towels for both of you.
“Thank you” He responded late to the older woman's compliment as his gaze went to the floor, his head tilting down a bit in a thankful manner.
“She's nervous because she's embarassed, but I’m used to it” She said warmly, his eyes smiling slowly as she looked at the room door, wide open, and at the boy on her room.
“You look like a good man, treat her nicely” A fucking bullet through his brain would hurt less, he thought.
He nodded at her words, reassuring the worried mother on the bed, an unmoving figure assuring him of the most disgusting lie he heard.
'you look like a good man'
“Here you have” You appeared on the room in a second, a soft red towel on your hands as you gave it to him. Your eyes looking at your mom as she looked at you with raised eyebrows. Jeongguk busying himself with drying his clothes. He preferred that rather than taking in what was in front of him.
You gathered an excuse to get him to sit back on the living room’s couch as you two dried yourselves, your embarassed face looking at him from second to second.
You could see how he seemed uncomfortable, his shoulders locked and his actions a bit more small than they were before.
“I-im sorry for-, i-”
“No need to apologize” He shook his head as a small smile appeared on his face, his words reassuring, but you could see just right past it, his worried expression never left his face.
“You dont have to explain anything to me” His sharp tone of voice made you freeze for a second, you heart stopping for a fleeting moment as you looked at his side profile. His eyes stayed looking ahead, his eyes on the old TV and clean shelves full of old pictures and little figurines.
You were oblivious to the obvious turmoil on his head. His brain trying to understand everything, trying to make short timed decisions. Sort all the types of troubles on his mind. Trying to convince himself that he wasn't as bad as he now conceived himself.
You, on the other hand, were worried he took pity on you, treating you like a broken matter instead of a normal girl, a big contrast to what he saw you as just before this happened. You worried he wouldn't want to see you ever again, the burden of your situation too big on his shoulders. Your life too complicated to even stand to be beside you.
He wasn't taking pity on you though, he was taking pity on himself.
How could he carry out all of this on his own? How could he commit such horrible act in a situation like this. How could he kill a girl that had to put up with this life.
He kept thinking over and over what was the right decision now, the correct path, and what would he say to his mates when he got back.
The 'date' wrapped up fast after you two dried yourselves. You changed to your work clothes as he walked you to the supermarket just around the corner where your shift was just about to begin.
You tried to explain to him, and he kept reassuring, trying to stop you from telling more of your story. He shouldnt know it. And even less he should care about it, or let it get in the way of his job.
But you grew eager to be transparent with him, to make him listen to your story, even if you only explained a quarter of it. Maybe this time he would stay. A dumb hope that it was better for him to know everything, to get this thing off a sincere start.
He just listened, not opening his mouth as you kept going, your blabbering short and concise. But you grew nervous when he didn't talk, maybe making a few jokes that didn't even land, his face straight looking ahead.
He listened to everything though, cursing himself internally as your story kept growing sadder and more complicated. He fought inside to not let anything show, no emotion, no words.
If he did, this could get even more complicated, on a business level and on a personal one. He couldn't afford to accept this and move on with his duty. He couldn't stand being the one to kill you.
The evening finished with a small smile on both of your ends, a small reassuring 'i understand' from his part. A quick goodbye as cold as the sea water on your feet from earlier.
You felt the anxiety growing on your body by the second. His tall frame walking away from the shop as you closed your eyes for a second. Gaining the courage to do your job at least decently, hearing the cheery 'hello' the damn door of the shop made as you walked in.
“She's paralyzed”
His troubled body pacing back and forth on the big room where all his mates were listening to him.
They could see the unease just as he entered the flat that same evening, a little later than he should have.
They all sat in front of him, distributed in the desks and sofas, listening to how the mission went. They were surprised to see him this worried. They expected a normal meeting for today, not an urgent matter now in front of them.
“Her mother is fucking paralyzed, like, from head to toe” He paced, hands on his head. A nagging feeling blooming in his chest, he now couldn't conceal anything about the reality of his emotions.
“She lives with her, she wasn’t alone” All of their attention was on him. The one most worried about Jeongguk's state of nerves, Jimin. He sat with his elbows on his knees, his fingers on his lips as he frowned at what his mate explained.
“I-i was going to do it but, fuck-” He tried to gain his breathing again, closing his eyes as he ran his hand through his hair.
“First of all, calm down” The leader walked to him noticing his growing panic, his hand now pressuring his shoulders to get his attention on him.
“Take a breath and sit down, here” He sat the younger one down, passing him a glass of water. He downed it in one go, his leg bouncing up and down as his brain didn't stop running, taking the opportunity to spit everything now.
But his scared feeling didn't go away. Would they understand him? See where he was coming from and do something to stop this? Or would they get mad at him for not doing his job? Shout at him and kick him out. Left again to get by however he could.
Fuck, this was getting to him more than he thought.
“So, if i understood this correctly” Yoongi talked soflty, his eyes on the table in front of him.
“You two had your little date or whatever, and you went to her house. You were about to do it but her mom shouted at her. You walked into the room and she was on bed, paralyzed?” Yoongi frowned at the story.
He wanted to believe, to understand. But the way Jeongguk came through the door and spit everything with no coherent sense made it even more difficult to follow him.
“Yeah, she told me. Y/N explained everything to me.” He took a big breath as he recalled everything that happened.
“I acted like nothing was wrong, but i was freaking out. The first thing I saw on her house was a big fuckass frame with a family picture. She told me that was the picture his father loved the most.” Everyone nodded at that.
Jin, sat on a desk, writing everything down, trying to make sense of this.
“She told me her father died like a year ago, some car accident. She and her mom were with him, on the car. The mother became paralyzed for breaking a vertebra and she, Y/N survived, that's why she has a fucking scar on her neck.” He clasped and unclasped his hands on his lap, his leg never stopped bouncing.
Namjoon frowned at the story, the words repeating on his brain as he quickly walked to his desk. This sounded familiar.
He took out the envelope, sprawled on the surface as he searched and searched for a designated folder. Rummaging through them on the big shelves behind him.
“Fuck” Jimin whispered as he closed his eyes, his hand running through his hair as he imagined what Jeongguk had to go through just three hours before.
“I get that it's a heartbreaking story but-” Jin started, he understood how this might affect the youngest, but since when did they have any say on what was right and wrong?
“It fucking is, i was just about to suffocate a girl to death with her paralyzed mother in the other room, are you kidding me?” Jeongguk raised his voice, his panic even more apparent, leaving everyone in the room surprised.
Jimin put his hands on his shoulders, hugging the youngest as he tried to calm him down.
Yoongi looked at Jin, his eyes troubled as he searched for the correct words in his brain. The only noise on the room was Jeongguk incessant talking and the soft thuds and rustling of papers Namjoon made.
“I get that I was supposed to do it but-”
“Dont worry about that now, we get it” Jimin softly said, his hand caressign the younger one's back as he tried to get him at least a bit more relaxed. “It's not easy to do it if you get that involved, and on top of that there's not even a crime on her. So we get it.”
Those words settled on Jeongguk's mind. Jimin was able to put in words everything he was feeling in just a second.
“They had a car accident, her father passed in the accident, her mom's paralyzed and she survived” Namjoon said almost robotically as they nodded, affirming the story once again.
“A car accident in her neighbourhood” He stayed talking, the leader's mind racing through papers as his hands never stopped searching for something, even folding some papers carelessly in the process.
“She was so fucking ashamed, she thought i was judging her for her situation but- i was just fucking ashamed of myself” Jeongguk kept going through the day in his mind, his throughts spat onto the air as he tried to focus on his mate's words.
“I don't think i can-”
“Y/N Y/S/N” Namjoon cut him off abruptly, a document on his hand as he read it out loud.
Everyone on the room looked at him, waiting for what he was looking for all this time.
“Y/N Y/S/N, 22, car accident” his words didnt even make sense as he read through the paper. The document showed details of the hospital records, the insurance information on the crash, the debt you carried from the hospital bills, your family's information.
Jeongguk looked nervously at his leader, praying for something that could make this fucking deal disappear, act like it never happened. Make him get away from this case as soon as possible.
“Her father was Kang Soo”
The room was left speechless. The silence a sudden heavy weight on their shoulders as they stared at their leader. No movement was made, they all went still at that name.
“No fucking way”

After the accident that took her father’s life and left her mother sick, YN learned to survive on her own amidst endless shifts and silences that weighed too heavily. Her life seems like just another miserable routine, until JK appears just as everything starts to fall apart.
He approaches slowly, with an easy smile and too many questions, whilst hiding the real reason he entered her life: to kill her. But the more he discovers about her, the harder it becomes to pull the trigger. Because the accident that destroyed YN was never an accident, and the debt that haunts her has been stained with blood for years. Now JK will have to decide what weighs heavier: loyalty to the mafia that raised him, or the girl he should never have met.
genre: dark romance — mafia au — thriller — slow burn — angst — smut — fluff
warnings: death, violence, manipulation, trauma, morally grey characters & unhealthy dynamics. theyre very cute tho. ot7 ofcourse, the characters will be added slowly hehe

masterlist
The club was crowded, as always, the soft rythm of the background music and clatter of cups the ever lasting sounds in the place.
Not everybody was welcome here, each client thoroughly recognized, ogling at almost naked woman roaming freely between seats and couches.
Smoking wasn’t allowed inside, but he couldn’t care less. His veiny hands taking out a red small box from the inside pocket of his jacket, a long and thick nicotine filled stick in between his fingers.
He loved the taste of it.
He waited a bit to light it up, appreaciating the circular shape on his lips, the taste a mix of paper and leaves. His eyes hadn’t stayed one minute on the same subject, no nervousness on his body was noticed, but he scanned every corner of the room.
He wasn’t nervous, he scanned every inch of the club, the red neon lights, the girls dancing at the pole, and the chubby man in front of him.
“We got a hit request” the small hands of the man passed Jeongguk a beige envelope, grazing the crystal table that separated them. “You know what to do”
The younger man sighed as he took the envelope, opening to see how much he was gonna get paid. Long gone where the days when he just accepted almost anything for some money to get by. His skills now higher, it’s only nature for his salary to go up too.
“Not enough for you?” The red faced man in front of him sipped on his drink, two of his men beside him now watching the interaction, focused.
“Of course it isn’t” That gained a scoff from the old man. “Triple it”
“You didn’t even read what it was for” The man shook his head, his smile slowly coming down to a frown. “This ain’t no important guy, this is a random child of god”
Jeongguk raised his eyebrow at that, what the fuck was he going about?
Ggeum had a weird personality, and an obsession with god. He was like the korean version of The Sopranos.
The man sighed and shook his head. “You’ll get what I mean when you open that damn envelope” he took a sip of his drink and sighed.
Jeongguk nodded and shrugged.
“Our rate is our rate” His expression didn’t falter, not once, seriousness with a bit of cockiness in his small smirk.
The old man flexed his jaw and nodded.
“Agreed, now get the fuck out of here” he stated madly, the younger male getting up and smiling at him.
“It’s always great to make deals with you” his hands swiftly saved the envelope on his jacket.
“You’ve got a month” He fixed his eyes on his watch, his leg tapping the flooor in an anxious rythm.
The younger man nodded, his legs carrying him to the back exit towards his car. He was used to these deals.
Sometimes they occurred on this very brothel, sometimes on the strip club on the other side of the city. No matter the place, he was mostly the one to receive them, the youngest one of the gang.
“Don’t you want a little dance baby?” One of the dancers approached him, her hand on his shoulders and fake innocent eyes batting eyelashes at him.
His gaze remained on her eyes.
“Have a good night sweetheart” he didn’t stop for her, his steps closer and closer to the slick black car parked on the far end of the parking lot.
His walk confident, the cigarette on his lips finally light up. Once he got inside, he searched for his phone and quickly sent the message.
Gangnam, 2:43 am.
“How are the deals going?” Namjoon asked, getting through the door of the big office. A couple of couches beside the walls, two small coffee crystal tables in front of each one, and two big desks on the far end, closer to the windows.
He perked his side on the desk, looking at his men sitting on the couches, their drinks and documents at hand. A general check was needed.
His gaze roamed between them, the usual relaxed expression of Yoongi, the small frown on Jin’s eyebrows, and the small tilt on the head of Jimin.
“Everything’s already dealt with, no problem at all” Jin assured the leader, his crossed arms making his biceps buffer.
“The deal with south side?” Everyone nodded at that.
“Yoongi and I made the delivery, same as always, two million in cash, just like we talked about.” Jimin said with a smirk on his face.
That’s how they worked, thoroughly and professionally, no space for fuck ups.
“Then everything’s good, why did JK want us to meet?” He raised his eyebrow, and as if he was waiting for the call, he made his way through the door and saluted each one of them.
“We got a hit” he said surely, passing the envelope to the leader and sitting close to Jimin on the small couch.
“Was it fucking Ggeum again?” Jeongguk nodded at his words, the rude but calm manner of Yoongi’s speech one of his signature moves.
Namjoon nodded and proceeded to flip the envelope before he opened it.
All the details they should know before ending a life in the palm of his hands.
Name: Y/N Y/S/N, 22.
Address: 5th Avenue, Gongdam District
Details: 22 year old girl, no parents, lives alone. Short stature, no resistance. Black hair and brown eyes. Mole under left eye, scar on the side of her neck. Employed at 7/11 on 10th street in the afternoons.
Method: Unnoticeable death, suicide.
He sighed at what his eyes read, and quickly moved on to the attached pictures.
Pictures of you, taking the bus, waiting on the sidewalk, getting home, chatting with another girl.
All of them were taken at a safe distance. It showed your relaxed demeanor, your wide eyes and long hair were what gained his attention instantly.
“Does anyone know a Y/N Y/S/N?” Each one of his men shook their heads.
“It looks just like a random girl” he mumbled as he looked through the photos again, trying to find something he didn’t notice at first.
He scanned your surroundings, your clothes, any firegun on your pockets, any trace that you were some kind of mean capo.
But no, these were just candid day to day pictures of a normal girl, nothin noticeable.
“She must have been in something she shouldn’t have been” Jin explained calmly, his wide shoulders a contrast with Yoongis relaxed frame
“Wrong place wrong time” Jimin sickly joked at his play of words. His arm coming behind the youngest on the headrest.
The younger one frowned at that.
All of their works have been obvious. Killing a mafia capo, a lonely man who didn’t pay his debt, people like that. Not some random normal girl who apparently lived a normal life.
“I don’t get it” he shook his head shuffling through the pics, Jimins chin on his shoulder as they both looked through them.
“It is what it is. We don’t ask questions, we just do the job” Yoongi wasn’t amazed by it at all. And he was right.
They took care of business, never questioned it. Everything had a reason, and even if it wasn’t good enough, a request for a client, specially at their price, was what would raise their rank.
Ever since Jeongguk worked through this type of life, he has seen it all. There’s nothing extraordinary about this, about you, just some action needed to be done. A task needed to be complete.
“It’s not about that, I mean, are we sure we want to take this hit? We’re not exactly in need of the money” Jimin tried to talk some sense in this, but all he got from his hyungs were serious faces.
“We are not, but we already accepted, rules are rules” Namjoon commanded, all the attention on him, ready for his orders.
“This is someone unsuspecting, not even envolved in something sketchy for all we know. If a homeless man dies, nobody cares. If a mafia member dies, is expected. But this random girl? If the suicide doesn’t add up they will look further into the case”
Everyone nodded at that, obeying the weird moral compass of their leader.
“We’ll take it, but we need a plan”
They split for this one. Namjoon the one in charge of assigning the actions of each member. It was clear they needed something a bit more elaborate to get this going.
Death by suicide was one of the hardest to imitate, as no sign of resistance or brute force should be on the victim.
The place was also a big factor. It should be in a familiar environment for the victim. No one would suspect of anything more than an unexpected suicide if no traces were left.
Jimin and Jungkook were the assigned members for the task. The youngest ones and the less busy these days.
It was nice for them two to take on something together after so long. It was clear that they worked good together.
They shared a big connection, aware of each other’s signs and ways of working around. With their skills and charming attitudes, they were only left carrying the plan.
The drizzling of water on top of you brought you back to life. Your tired eyes finally coming to their true place, opening at the cold sensation of the shower. The cold droplets running from your shoulders to your lower back, granting a minute of pure bliss unlocking your tight muscles.
You took your time getting ready this morning, you didn’t want to rush it. The reason, an unexpected uneasiness you usually feel at the back of your brain now a bit more present. You were used to that lump just above you. A black cloud looming your changing emotions as you went through your days.
It sometimes went away for a bit when you watched your favorite shows, when you shared meals with your coworkers, when you took the time to make an appetizing and fulfilling breakfast.
You haven’t done that in a while, you thought, you craved the sweet taste of strawberries, or maybe a toast with marmalade.
You preferred to focus on the wide variety of breakfasts the world could give you instead of overthinking your whole life and self worth a Wednesday morning. A detachment tactic that normally worked.
Stepping out of the shower, cold tiles greeted you as you cleaned the fog out of the mirror. An usual reflection meeting you again.
Your fingers dragged through damp strands absentmindedly while your gaze wandered across your reflection without settling anywhere for long. Eyes, mouth, the faint shadows beneath them. You looked familiar, but strangely distant this morning, as if you were examining somebody else pretending to be you.
You decided to focus your mind on what you wanted to make for breakfast. Settling on a big cup of coffee with milk and some toasts with cherry marmalade.
“Good morning ma” you smiled as you walked through the bedroom door, masking all of the rumination done a few minutes ago on the adjacent bathroom. Your eyes going instantly to the woman in bed.
“Hi Angel” she smiled as she looked through the tray, a beautiful breakfast ready to be eaten. “Toasts? Fancy” she joked as you laughed at the comment.
The tray finding a spot on the bedside table as you helped your mom sit up.
“How was your night?” You didn’t refer to how she slept, rather about how she felt.
“Just like any other night” she smiled reaching for the steaming mug of coffee. You nodded and opened the courtains on her left side of the room, and pulled out your chair from the nearby corner and sat to eat with her.
You spent the morning with her, eating breakfast, talking about random matters, and watching with her the latest Chinese drama she was obsessed with.
“I don’t get it” you frowned at a sudden change of direction on the episode.
“They can’t be together, so they escape!” Your mom explained to you, a sympathetic look on her face as she watched TV. You could swore she felt it as she was right there.
“But where to? I mean they’re the soon to be kings, they will get caught”
“It doesn’t matter Y/N, the thing is that they chose each other, not power! God they’re so adorable” you smiled at her and shook your head.
It always amazed you how could she get so engrossed in a fantasy, but you appreciated her lightness this morning above anything else.
The sudden alarm of your phone went off, startling both of you.
“You start earlier today?” She looked at the watch on the wall.
“I need to make some copies of your medical papers, so I’ll just leave a bit earlier so I can get them” she nodded and resumed watching her drama.
You took it upon yourself to clean everything and leave everything spotless, a habit you developed in your early years. An obsession to get everything as clean as possible, not ocd spotless, but a nice shine on the kitchen counter never hurt nobody.
You put on your backpack and hugged the big solid folder of papers, blowing a kiss goodbye to your mom and heading towards the center.
“I look ridiculous” Jeongguk sighed as he looked at himself on the mirror.
“It’s called fashion gguk” Jimin smiled at his friend, slowing down the car as they got closer to your neighborhood.
“I look like a fuckboy from those YouTube shorts” Jimin actually laughed at that and shook his head, his eyes fixated on the red light on the road.
“It’s just a big sweater with some pants, what’s the issue?”
“They’re too tight” He complained.
“Come on, you’re just used to wear the most oversized pants on earth”
Jeongguk shook his head and closed the mirror above his head on the ceiling of the car.
“Okay, she should be leaving now” Jimin checked the clock. “You follow her walking, I’ll keep an eye on you in the car”
The youngest nodded and pressed in place the little skin coloured earpiece. He shared looks with Jimin, a “hear me good?” read on his face as the blonde one nodded.
He turned his face to look through the window. His eyes searching for the girl he saw on this printed photos. He couldn’t help the nervous feeling buzzing his skin, he was used to unnamed violence.
A sudden act with not much thinking, not much preparation, but this? pretending to be a random boy to kill an equally random girl. This was unknown territory, and much to his dismay, his nervousness couldn’t be shown, he had to act, and act good.
As his eyes saw the short girl walking through the black gated door shown in some of your pictures, his body reacted instantly, getting out of the car and putting a professional mask on.
They should give him a fucking Oscar after all of this.
You walked on the sidewalk, a cute shirt and baggy pants the outfit for today. He walked behind you, and took the privilege of scanning your figure.
Just for research.
He could see how the shirt hugged your sides in an excellent manner, your waist accentuated by the narrow waistband of your pants, that flew down on a lump of oversized fabric leaving nothing else to see than your white shoes.
“Keep your head straight JK, I can hear your thoughts from here”
His mind instead, at the sound of those words, came back to the envelope. Who you were, and the way you were to die. He wasn’t surprised by the method. Since his early teenage years he was faced with the reality of the business. What he had to do and endure just to get by and survive. His brain now too damaged for it to have any remorse.
Even now, he thought about what could you have done for someone to pay all of this money for your death and disappearence. What grudge could anyone have with a, seemingly innocent, 7/11 worker.
He scanned the street for something to interfere your walk, how he wished for some crazy biker to somehow put you in danger like they did in those bad romance movies.
And for him, the hero of this surreal story, to save you and make this much easier.
“She's got a folder, make her drop it” He heard Jimin's low voice on his ear, suggesting the scene for his act.
He bit his lip and passed your figure at a faster speed whilst walking, turning on his left and counting the seconds on his head for you to appear.
And soon, your folder was sprawled on the floor, all the papers scrambled and taking flight though the ground.
“Oof-” Your body collided with a rock hard surface that appeared from thin air, the grip on your folder slipping as you tried not to fall. You looked to the floor surprised, all of your organized papers suddenly made a mess.
“Shit! Im so sorry”
He cringed at how his voice sounded, the character he had to play sort of like a humiliation ritual for his prideful personality.
Both of you were kneeling on the ground, taking the papers fast before the wind could take them away.
You sighed while putting all the documents on your hand, a frown on your face as you cursed internally at whoever made such a mess.
“Look where you are going” You were mad, of course you were. Some dumb weirdo just decided to throw away all the time you spent trying to get all of your copies together and assembled.
“Im really sorry, I should have been more careful” Jeongguk kept taking papers, and once he gathered them, all he extended his hand, passing them to you as your frown slowly disappeared from your face.
A slow change of expression that made him smile internally.
“I-it's okay” You laughed pathetically. God, you havent seen a face so handsome in your life. Your small hands putting all your papers back where they were, not even caring about an order now.
He smiled softly, he took mental note of the countless medical records on your hands, the little hospital logo in each one of the paper's documents.
“No, really, it must be such a fuss trying to get that back in order” He laughed lightly as you both stood again on your feet, your face tilting back a little at the sudden height difference.
“Yeah it will but- it was just an accident” You nodded at your words, your eyes suddenly too shy to look back at him as you busied yourself playing with the corner of the folder, hugging it to your chest once again.
“Yeah, sorry again stranger” He smiled charmly at your sudden red cheeks, were you blushing? “See you around” he smirked at you when you looked up after his sudden goodbye, your head nodding as your eyes followed his figure.
“Y-yeah bye” You whispered softly, your eyes going from the wide of his back to his small waist, your eyes in a sudden trance you quickly got rid of. Your head shaking as you tried to get your mind right.
It's just a handsome stranger Y/N, for god's sake, get your mind right. You resumed your walking, replaying all the moment's of his presence in your mind. His tattooed hands, his scent, the piercings on his face.
You felt your chest skip a few beats as you laughed at yourself for thinking that way, he's probably one of those popular jocks with hundreds of girls on his circle.
You couldnt blame them tho, if a handsome guy like him ever showed interest in you you would fold in a second.
No, Y/N, you cant do that, have some self respect.
God, the battle unfolding on your mind just from a twenty second interaction making you think youre truly out of your mind.
“Ready for stage 2?”
“And he picked the papers up?” Jihyo smiled at your story, her wide eyes staring lovingly at you as you explained your 'accident' with the hot guy on the street.
You nodded, putting the stack of ramen on the correct shelf, the blush on your cheeks still present.
“I would have melted right there and then, like- guys these days dont even look at your face, or even like treat you with an ounce of respect. And now you're telling me a hot tattooed man helped cleaning something he caused? Y/N you have to fuck him”
Your eyes went wide at her words, your cheeks going redder by the minute as you hit her arm softly. Your heart making that little jump when you heard the words leaving her mouth.
“Do you mind keeping it quiet?” You frowned, but the small smile appearing on both of your faces a great indicator of how this conversation was fun enough for the both of you.
She bit back a laugh as she passed you another box of ramen.
“Come on Y/N, you're explaining something out of a drama and you expect me to just let it pass?” You shook your head and smiled at her antics. Your head replaying over and over that minute.
“Jihyo, love your enthusiasm, but I dont stand a chance” You bit your lip and rested your hands on your waist, facing her completely.
“How do you know that?” Her eyebrows rose at you, a know it all look on her face you recognized instantly.
She did this multiple times, you even feel bad at her tries of lifting your self love up. You get what she says, really, but in the moment you find yourself right now, its very difficult for you to look past all of your issues.
“Exactly, you dont know” She giggled as you kept silent.
You sighed at her and shook your head, the idea of even looking at his eyes again making a shiver run down your spine.
“I dont have his number or anything, i dont even know his name!” You tried to get your friend back to planet earth, and at her loss of answer, you giggled and shook your head.
You walked to your place behind the counter, a customer waiting for someone to check him out.
You could hear her footsteps behind you, trying to give you multiple reasons of the universe's way, how god intended this to happen. Some blabbering you couldnt hear anymore as your eyes, big as saucers, looked at the customer right in front of you, your body frozen.
“Its not like things just happen like that, you know, there's multiple books that talk about- holy shit!” Her rise of voice shook you out of your trance, the tattooed man from earlier now standing in front of both of you, a small smile on his lips.
“Books? I love books” He replied simply, his eyes going from Jihyo to you slowly. Your friend stood looking up at him, an amazed look in her face as you resorted to the only thing you could muster to do right now. Check his items out.
“Hey costumer!” Your friend tried to save the situation at your sudden mutism, a big smile on her face, eyes forming crescent moons as she watched him.
“You like iced coffee? We have a new one on the store! Y/N would you show him? Its super nice” Your eyes went big again, a nervous look shot at him, his expression easy and relaxed. Compared to you, your nervous system could implode right now and you wouldnt be surprised.
His eyes looked at you, waiting for an answer behind your lips, and you nodded slowly at what your friend said, a bit of delay on your response.
You gulped “ Sure, yeah”
Normal, this has to be normal. No blush on your cheeks, no heart beating a thousand miles per hour. This was a boy, a random man, you had to get your brain right.
You walked rather fast to the little fridges where you kept the new iced americanos, your anxiety thanking you for the cold surface of the fridge on the palm of your hand.
“I-its a new brand we have, it's iced americano as you can see. It comes in various sizes, it has a little lid on it and even a spoon. It's really good i really like it, it even has protein isn't that crazy? It could help a lot to you” You laughed at your words, trying to show a smiley and easygoing showcase of the coffee while you tried to regain your breath in front of such guy.
He raised a brow at you at your last remark, what did you mean it could help him a lot?
“T-the protein, in the coffee, for your muscles and like” You gulped, surprised at what you said, a low giggle coming where your friend watched the scene from the cashier station.
“It's just like, really healthy” You nodded at him, your hands holding the cup of coffee, showcasing it to himas if you were on some cheap TV commercial.
“I don't really like coffee like this” You gulped at his words, a sudden embarassed feeling running through your body. A cold shock, as if someone poured a bucket of cold water over you.
“No? Oh, then it's okay, totally okay” You laughed trying to make the situation a bit more lighter.
“I prefer coffees in company, you know?” He smirked at you, a charming expression on his face you began to question if it was even possible for a man to have this much power over you.
Your eyes, confused by his words, searched for your friend, her excited smile showing on your vision as she mouthed 'he's flirting, say yes', her head nodding rapidly and a thumbs up on both of her hands.
You looked back up at him, your eyes going straight to his lips, to the small smole just below his lower one, then finally his eyes.
“Yes” you stated, nothing more, nothing less.
A funny expression on his face making his smile wider, his eyes creasing, creating the most boyish smile you have seen.
“Okay” he nodded as he giggled lowly. “When do you finish your shift?” He knew about it already, of course he did. The coffee excuse a little weird considering you got out at 11pm, but he just went with it.
“K-kind of late, like eleven pm” You smiled lightly at him, your hand coming up to scratch at your head nervously.
“Great, i'll be here” He laughed and left you standing there, again, as he checked out with Jihyo and finally made his way out of the shop.
“Coffee at eleven pm?” You asked your friend, getting closer to her, the only question your head could produce right now was the odd hour to meet a guy.
“He doesnt care he 's trying to get that cookie” She sang as her happiness made you laugh at her and shush her.
“That was sooo cute JK” Jimin couldnt stop himself once the younger one got in the car again.
“Oh shut up” He huffed, his hands playing with the soft white sweater they threw him on. He needed something to do with his hands.
Was his acting good? Yeah, probably good enough for you to be so damn adorable in front of him.
“You have her wrapped around you finger Jeon” He continued his teasing. “It only took you like one evening”
“It is what it is” He smiled at the sudden praise from his mate. The bullshit he pulled off today, one he would never forget.
“This is going to be easy” A low smile planted on the blonde's face, his whole body reeked contempt.
And Jeongguk, he just went with it.
You finished your shift just in time, your mind couldnt forget what happened today. Did suddenly cupid decide to shot you with his arrow now?
This whole thing seemed like it came from a romantic movie out of Netflix. And even if this was kind of unbelievable for you, Jihyo was the most happy for you.
Your thoughts ran freely for the evening, ranging from happiness to sadness, to irritation. How did it all happen? Why you? Has he seen you before or was it all just faith's play?
And the most important one, why you?
You tried to keep your thoughts positive, Jihyo's presence making it all a lot more easier, and the long list of tasks as a clerk making it easier to just focus on your job. Something you knew to do really well.
You were used to your brain's questions and self deprecating thoughts, nothing new. You couldn't remember the time when you werent aware of this negative voice on your head speaking to you all day and night.
Some days were easier, others more difficult. The obvious was, it never completely left.
All of life's faith and positivity couldnt make you shake it out of you, not even the best of the psychologists could cure a pain so profound, a growing pitch dark pool on your heart.
You were aware that you had to keep getting better, make it disappear in some way. It would make evrything easier, but doesnt everyone have this issue. You shouldnt think so special of yourself, everyone went through rough patches, and this was yours.
“Earth to Y/N” Jihyo laughed at your spaced out eyes as you blinked back to reality, a smile on your face whenever she was around you. And now, you couldnt help but smile at her excited expression.
“Ready for the late night date?” She moved her eyebrows up and down as she removed the green vest you wore for work, you followed her movements, taking yours off too.
“Yeah” You nodded slowly and smiled lightly. Your friend looked at you suspiciously, noticing your spiraling thoughts right away.
“Listen to me” She placed her hands on your shoulders and made you look at her. You did so, obediently.
“You suffered a lot, I know more than anyone. But this is a chance for change, a new connection, a friend or lover call it whatever you want” You nodded at his words, her piercing eyes leaving you no other option but to accept her words. “You are a great person and I love you so damn much” That made you laugh at her words and nodded.
“I know I overthink too much” You smiled as she giggled and took your cheeks on her hands, her expression suddenly serious. “Oh no dont do it-”
“Repeat after me” You laughed at her words. She used to do this, very few times, but somehow this little mantra could make you change perspective. You nodded at her.
“Im great”
“Im great”
“I deserve this”
“I deserve this”
“Im beautiful”
“Im beautiful”
“And I have a wonderful ass” You laughed loudly at her sudden ocurrence, and repeated those nonetheless.
“I have a wonderful ass” She looked proud and triumphant, smiling at your relaxed expression.
“Mr ice americano is waiting for you” She flicked her head at the front door of the shop and you nodded eagerly, breathing in and out .
“Go get him tiger” She gave you your backpack and you put it on, hugging her as a goodbye earning a soft pat on your butt as a goodbye.
“You really do have a great ass girl pass the routine” You laughed loudly at that and separated yourself from her.
Your steps taking you closer and closer to him, his back to you as he looked at his phone under the bright white lights of the shop.
His head looked up as soon as he heard the robotic 'goodbye' voice the door detector automatically said as someone passed the treshold.
“Hey there” You smiled at him, your body and mind more relaxed after your little mantra session with your best friend. You looked at him again, his outfit the same, but now two iced americanos were sitting on a little cardboard bag on his hand.
“Hi, how was the shift?” You blushed at his words as you shrugged your shoulders.
“As always”
“I got the coffee, so you choose the place” He smiled at you. “Being at night with someone you dont know can be a bit uncomfortable so, lets just go wherever you want to” You raised your brows as his words, a little laugh coming out of you.
You were thankful for his thoughtfulness. You also thought about that on your little thought marathon you had on your shift. But luckily, the weather is good, and children are on vacation. So even if it was late, the street was livelly.
“There's a cool park right here, we can go there” He turned to see where you were signaling with your finger and nodded. You both started to walk alongside, your eyes searching for a free bench where you two could talk.
“How come you dont mind the hour?” You curiously asked.
Of course, the first thing you said was hinting at his possible discomfort.
“It's okay, I work odd hours too” He smiled brighter at that, his joke, only understood by him, making it funnier.
“What do you do for work?” You asked curiously, both of you reaching the brown bench just below a big tree, overlooking a big patch of grass where families and couples were having dinner picnics.
The view, a crash of bright city lights and green lightness, chatter and laughs as the background, a little mumble of music too.
“I work at an IT company” He nodded, remembering perfectly what he agreed upon with Jimin about his background. “Im the one who takes calls, tries to fix everyone's pc's problems, all of that boring stuff”
You laughed at that, shaking your head and sitting at the bench, your feet below your right knee, a habit you couldnt shake off, always seating with one leg over the other.
“No it's not, you... help people” You found a philosophical way to lift his spirits up, something he found rather adorable, his laugh ringing on your ears.
“You help people too” He shrugged his shoulders and bit his lip looking at your questioning expression.
“How so?”
“You help with cravings” He smiled and gave you your coffee, again winning a laugh from you.
You sipped at your drink, the coldness giving you a refreshing feeling inside, the cold beverage running through you as if you hadnt drank something so refreshing in years.
His mission was clear tonight: know more about you, weaknesses, strengths, and addition information he could use on your case. But as the night went by, he somehow didnt ask you a single question about anything he wanted to know.
How could he? You two got along incredibly well, not with his character, but with him. The conversation flowed easily, jumping from topic to topic.
From the americano coffee you drank to the music playing on the background. Your conversation about singers, about favorite songs and movies. About childhood memories he enjoyed listening to, but honestly gave no valuable information.
He only realized it as you got up to throw the empty plastic glasses to a nearby bin. His eyes following your walk, your subtle movements, the way your hips swayed lightly, how your hair flowed down your back, and how your hands never stopped playing with the ring you wore on your index finger.
“Thank you for the coffee” You smiled at him softly, your hair casting shadows as he looked up at you from where he was sitting.
You took your time to notice, the way his piercings shined dimly from the subtle light from the street light, how his eyes looked like they held galaxies in them. A thousand stars dancing in his big eyes, a mesmerising sight you were privileged enough to see.
“Right, it's late” He shook himself off of the trance, seating up and giving you your bag from the bench. You laughed at his sudden urgency and put you bag on.
“Let me walk you home” He suggested and you nodded at him, the two of you walking slowly to where the black and old gate of your small house waited for the two of you.
“I had a great time..” He started and your eyes went big for the tenth time tonight.
“We didnt even say our names” You laughed at the realization, his laugh following swiftly behind yours.
“Im Y/N” You smiled brightly at him, your big eyes lookin up at him, reminding him of the vague and ridiculous description on that damned envelope.
“Im Jeongguk” he pulled off his sly smirk, making you blush even when you spent almost two hours talking about everything and anything with him.
“I had a great time Jeongguk” His breath cut softly when he heard you say his name, his brain shortcircuiting for a small second as he smiled.
“I would-, I mean if you want to-, should we-” He took out his phone, and you caught onto what he meant right away, a soft smile on your lips as you nodded at him.
Your fingers grabbing his phone and putting your contact info in. It wasnt his personal phone, it was a burner one, the one he used for these situations.
“I dont have Instagram so, a phone numer will have to make do” You replied a little embarassed. It wasnt common for someone your age to not have socials, but he took it anyway.
“Of course it will” He smiled and nodded, biting his lip as he put his phone back onto the back pocket of his jeans.
“Good night Jeongguk” You nodded at him and opened your front door. The last thing you saw of him, his tall frame smiling at you from the outside as he bid his good night.
As soon as he walked back to the black car parked a few meters away, he let out the biggest sigh from the inside of his chest. Jimin looked at his profile, a simple nod as he turned on the car.
“Good job” He reminded the youngest, and a silence that took over the car shortly after that.

Now JK will have to decide what weighs heavier: loyalty to the mafia that raised him, or the girl he should never have met.
genre: dark romance — mafia au — thriller — slow burn — angst — smut — fluff warnings: death, violence, manipulation, trauma, morally grey characters & unhealthy dynamics. theyre very cute tho. mentions of depression and bulimia. ot7 ofcourse, the characters will be added slowly hehe
“Yeah, take her out and make sure to finish this off”
The leaders word were simple, his directions already clear as he nodded at them and left the room, his steps sounding as he walked down the corridor.
Jeongguk got again caught on his thoughts. He was supossed to take away your life on a random evening. A killing of an inocent person. One could argue he was used to random violence, but not with an innocent girl like you.
He killed, of course he did. His head going through his acts he committed in his life.
He was privileged now, a roof over his head, workmates that passed that title long ago, now more like family.
He worked hard to get this, to be able to accomplish anything he wanted. To save up, and be able to live comfortably around some of the best people he got to meet.
He had to do it.
There was not much more to think about.
Looking into perspective, he didnt even know you, and you were a mere random person in a sea of people that crowded the city.
So he shut his thought off, his decision was clear.
AAAAA new fic guys hehehehhe
this a little teaser cuz ive been writing nonstop about it, first chapter in two days!!! hehehheh love you!!!
