So, I've been struggling with how to write this here on tumblr - I've announced it IRL to friends and family and social media abroad, am grieving in person with immediate friends and family, but since my other blogs were termed on the same day this happened, with a lot of mutuals still in the wind, I wasn't even sure I should post it here. Especially since I'm still devastated and grieving and floundering existentially.

On June 7th, I lost my best friend, a part of my soul, my hockey buddy, one of the loves of my life; my son. He was just 32 years old.

I had, and am still, contemplating the illogic of even having a tumblr blog anymore, since it seems like such a meaningless timesuck anymore- my priorities are shifting. However I realize that, in some part, tumblr still helps quiet my mind, and brings me some level of joy. Also, I had to consider his presence here on Tumblr.

Connor also had a longtime blog @ohdeerdinerr , and I wanted to let his 1,500 followers know that he had passed. It was after a brief but intense illness. His last post here was on June 2nd, 5 days before his death. His blog was a perfect curation of his interests and opinions.

Théoden had it right; no parent should have to bury their child.
