desperate & a little delusional

Well, one dental emergency later ...

The problem tooth (and boy was it a big problem) has been extracted. I do not have any form of insurance, but thanks to the kindness of a good friend, I only have $23 left to pay of that bill.

The ER visit, however, is another story. Thankfully, with the help of some other wonderful friends, the prescriptions are paid for, but the visit is going to cost an extra $291 that I don't have. I am planning on asking for an itemized bill and to see if I have any options with their financing department, but this is more than I'd been previously quoted.

While I do still need $150 for my phone to be turned back on, that is not my main concern at the moment. Getting this bill taken care of is.

There I saw you standing

Awhile ago I was struck by the similarity between fire towers and lighthouses, and wanted to capture that in a painting. Both are lonely, isolated structures that people tend to work alone, sometimes in extremely dangerous if not life threatening conditions. But fire towers are about warning people to run, about putting out a light that is a threat to people's safety. Lighthouses are sort of the opposite, drawing people in and guiding them to safety by keeping a light on instead of putting it out.
