This piece of work I really enjoyed creating. Digging into the rubbish (wearing gloves) and selecting things I thought would fit well into the shape of a seahorse. It was fun to visually create something in my mind and try and to recreate it out of plastic rubbish I found on a beach!
Here is the beach waste I collected from a beach in Dorset and a beach in Rhoose in South Wales. The idea was to collect the beach waste and to up-cycle it into something sea related to resemble plastic and sea pollution.
My prints for Materialisation project from being on the drying rack to being framed and hung. I chose a different colour frame for each print to make the colour in each image stand out individually. I'm happy with how it looks.
Digital Art and Media
As part of our digital art and media project we had to work in a group and create a short film. We decided to film some of our favourite places around Portsmouth and put it together like a journey through these places in a day.

Some of the prints I created today. With messy painted backgrounds I experimented with new styles of screen printing inspired by Andy Warhol. I'm quite pleased as the top prints look so much more funky than the bottom prints ! Well worth taking a whole day of just experimenting. Success :)

Experimenting with Photoshop, trying to prepare images for screen printing.

These pieces of work are for my project Marine Pollution. They are so different against each other. The first is almost 'classical beach', just with less sand. Beautiful different shapes and sizes of shells, and you've got a discarded net chucked over it, ruining it. And that's exactly what's it's like at the beach most of the time.
The second is a bit different. Lots of artificial colours from the plastic bottle tops almost gives the work a pop art effect. Lots of plastic and rubbish at the seafront can make it difficult to see the beauty of the seaside. (hence why there is only one seashell).
I am hoping to further this plastic section of my work, I wonder what i'll create next for plastic pollution.
The rest of the experimental prints based on Marine Pollution.

Here, my theme is Marine Pollution. I'm really enjoying researching into this subject. I first started looking into plastic pollution, and this is where I am now. I am quite pleased with how these prints turned out. I'm also pleased with how my experimental backgrounds worked out too, scraping paint mixed with different colours to create an uneven messy look. It does give off the impression that it's polluted. So i'm pleased so far.
New and improved short film with music. (experimentation)
