Aerith: Zack got sent the wrong size but then we wanted to see if we could all fit…

Tifa: …and now you’re stuck.

Cloud: That would be correct.

‘ have a nice nap? ’

‘ you have sleepy stuff in your eyes. ’ 

‘ sorry for waking you, baby. go back to sleep. ’ 

‘ you’re exhausted, honey. ’ 

‘ time for bed, sleepyhead. come on, i’ve got you. ’

‘ was that a yawn? ’ 

‘ honey, that’s not how you make the bed. ’

‘ you slept for a long time. ’

‘ time to wake up, sweetie. it’s a new day. ’ 

‘ you’re finally awake. ’

‘ you stayed up past your bedtime again, didn’t you? ’   

‘ i thought you were going to sleep forever. ’ 

‘ why don’t we take a nap together? we can be nap buddies. ’

‘ goodnight, baby. sweet dreams. ’ 

‘ you don’t get enough sleep. ’

        it’s quite a thing for cloud to say that someone caught him by surprise. he’d argue that he had a pretty good grasp on what was expected from tifa, but, truthfully, he hadn’t expected this as she’d shuffled into their room midway through the day. knowing her, she’d been up from a little before dawn, entertaining denzel for a morning practice while cloud enjoyed sleeping in for the first time in a little while. the only downside is that her side of the bed had been left bare — before it was occupied by hati, that is, but she left after some time, too.

        he’d figured it was due time that he’d started his day and help tifa set up for later. really, as difficult as it was to make him get out of bed on time, she shouldn’t have been so patient with him. yet, it seemed that wasn’t going to happen, for just as cloud began to free himself from the covers and push off the side of the bed, tifa draped herself over him.

        “ teefs ? ” he murmured, arms immediately wrapping around her for support. a hand to the back of her head and the other to her waist, a habitual hold. she didn’t need to say a thing, he could already tell what it was she wanted. so cloud heaves the both of them back under the covers, never once letting go of the woman in his arms. lips soon found her crown.

It was indeed rare for her to take a break -- especially one so early in her day. But, between her morning sparring session with Denzel, the deep cleaning she’d done in the bar; there was an abnormal fatigue and ache in her bones. Even Denzel was off being unusually lazy, the bar wasn’t opening for hours, what was the harm in indulging for a little bit?

That, and Cloud even hadn’t gotten out of bed yet either -- another big deciding factor in her decision. 

So, back up the stairs she went, immediately received by him.
