It’s a little surprising to the boy that they’ve never done this before. Jon was excited about the whole idea — and carving them later together. Everything seemed to be going wrong lately so this was the best distraction. He looks over at where his father was looking, bending down as well to inspect it. “I think it’s perfect! We can figure it out together, dad!” He says as he picks out another one — having two to carve would be even more fun!

Clark couldn't help but smile. The world was not very good at that time and it had been that way for a while. But he was going to try his best to keep that happiness in his son intact. What was the use of being Superman if he couldn't keep the most important person for him, safe? "Those two look perfect." He said while holding one, giving Jon space to return walking where they had entered. "We can give candy to children who walk our street, even. Unless you have plans for the night."

This was the first time they did this: father and son looking for pumpkins to decorate their house. It was very simple and yet, it was until now that they experienced it. Clark thought it was a good idea, that maybe it was going to help cheer up his boy. "How about this one?" He bent down to take one of the pumpkins, which seemed to be in perfect condition. "I must admit, I don't know how to do that of the faces and so on."

Clark knew he had made a good decision as soon as he saw Rachel smile more than once in the same hour. He had a great love for the Titans, the kids who, for X or Y reason, had to grow too fast. "I was thinking of bringing one to each of the Titans. Do you think it's a good idea?”

Clark opened the door and the person who was waiting on the other side didn't surprise him at all. Damian was his son's best friend, so he was really looking forward to seeing him soon. What never changed was the strange feeling of seeing a smaller version of his own best friend. The boy really looked like his dad, but mostly because of his presence. There was something all of Bruce’s kids shared and he still could not point out what exactly that was. "Jon hasn't arrived, he’s possibly going to be here in an hour or so. But you can come in and wait for him, if you want."

"It's not too late. Not yet." It was not very difficult to perceive that the world was not right. His world. The one he had promised to protect. Things were wrong before Clark decided to leave the planet and accompany Conner in his mission, but now it was worse. As if the air felt heavier. "I think we came back at the right time." His cape was moving with the wind, directly to the side where Superboy was standing. His relationship with the boy was not the best yet, but after the time shared off-world and fighting together against a common threat, the feeling that it would change was strong. Maybe this was his chance to repair his mistakes.
