“No, there’s not a cash price I - I don’t have cash.” Nick expressed for what felt like the millionth time since he began putting up posters in search of Oliver. Something felt wrong, and if Aiden wasn’t going to listen about it then Nick would be the one doing something. Even if Oli was fine then, well, at least he would know to reply to at least one text. Despite that small string of hope, Nick couldn’t help but feel deep in his chest there was truly something WRONG here. “I’m just looking for my brother and please– if you happen to see him anywhere just shoot a text, please. I’m really worried about him.”

Isaac’s heart sank the second that he saw the poster in Nick’s hand. He had been forced to tell a lot of people about Oliver’s death in the recent weeks but the one person that he had been avoiding telling was the one that wanted to find him the most. Isaac had intentionally kept his distance, not wanting to see the look on Nick’s face when he got the news. Keeping the truth from him felt just as cruel, though, and Isaac knew what he had to do. “Nicky...” he started, sad smile on his lips. “C’mon. Come with me. Let’s go get a coffee and have a talk, alright?” 

She was going to tell him, tell him everything. Kayleigh figure she would start off with the Mayor’s untimely death and then follow it up with Kadir – or perhaps do it the other way around. Say that she was leaving but she had been able to give him his freedom. That he and Scarlett could now actually get married and live happily ever after. It would soften the blow. The redheaded had been practicing the entire day on how to break it, how to say things and how to be okay in case Isaac did get upset. It was going to be okay. That was what she kept repeating in her head as she made her way into the woods to locate her person. Nothing could’ve prepared her for the scene that was waiting for her. His order made her freeze in her step, knowing that whatever had happened must have been grave. Isaac was not one to lash out on her – even more he wouldn’t lash out without accessing the entire situation. “What is wrong?” She asked, staying where she had froze out of respect and concern for her best friend. Even as she stood there she knew that whatever it was – it was going to change everything. Putting a pin on her news. Again, 

2012 –This had been such a pivotal year for her. For everyone if she was being honest. As she saw the person in front of her she knew she had been dropped down smacked at the worst time. Ollie was dead, which meant she had just killed the mayor. Meant that she was still living a double life and not completely honest with Isaac. Also meant that Greyson had just left, leaving the redheaded all by herself for the first time. God, she needed to locate herself to give herself a damn pep talk because it wasn’t going to get any better. The only reason she had survived this year was cause of Kadir, thankfully keeping him like a dirty secret was finally coming to an end. It wouldn’t be the smoothest transition but she would turn out to be ok. “Hey –” God what was she supposed to say? What words had she said? Younger her had handle this moment with such grace. She took steps forward and wrapped her arms around her best friend, her person. So much had to be left unsaid, so much that she couldn’t disclose because it wasn’t her place. The woman knew that Isaac was going to fight her, “I am so sorry,” she mumbled, wishing she could’ve prevented this moment in history. Wishing that she could’ve done more for their entire family. 

Though the original was not a part of the crescent pack (or even a wolf), she had a general idea of who they were. She had seen and met a handful of them the night Hayley had freed them of the curse Marcel had put on them long ago. One would think with the way she was scorned by Oliver, she would grow cold towards the pack. Fall into the stereotypical nature of werewolf versus vampire, but Rebekah liked to stay out of that. Witch, werewolf, vampire or human - she didn’t care what you were, it wouldn’t change how she acted towards another. To her, it was who you were. Not to mention, the crescent pack would forever be tied to the Mikaelson family through Hope. It was also because of that, that Rebekah would lay down her life to protect the other side of Hope’s family, even when she was used, tricked and a snack to a pack of wolves via a crescent. Though she’s been a vampire several lifetimes over, she had managed to stay close to her humanity, it was the one thing that separated her from her brothers. His tone lashed out hard, yet it didn’t faze the blonde. She had a knack for seeing past rage and seeing what it truly was, even when not spoken aloud. It was clear as day he didn’t want to talk about whatever was bothering him and Rebekah wasn’t going to force it out of him. She went to speak again, stalling for a moment before she decided against it. Normally, she wasn’t one to follow orders, especially at the tone she was given. But he was hurting, and it was because of that that she didn’t bother to correct him. So, there Rebekah stood - unable to find the words to say that would make him feel better. It was hard to work with nothing. A few moments of silence pass between the two, Rebekah - still searching for something to say. “Who do I have to kill?” She wasn’t at all surprised by the words that came, she was protective and god only knows the crescents have been through enough. 

Isaac had mixed feelings about Rebekah Mikaelson. On one hand, she was a vampire and he hated most of those on the very basic principle that he found their way of life absolutely reprehensible. On the other, Isaac hadn’t forgotten the role that Rebekah had played in helping Hayley break their curse. Not to mention, Oliver was fond of the blonde. Sure, he had a shit way of showing it with the whole ambush thing and all but there was no denying that they’d had a certain chemistry the first few hours of the night. He was glad that she didn’t ask what had him upset and instead focused on a solution. Isaac didn’t know her well, or at all really, but he knew that he liked her style. The question that she posed, however, was nearly impossible for him to answer. He had nowhere to direct her ire and fury because he had yet to confirm that culprit in his brother’s murder. He had several suspects; any member of the North Atlantic pack, the mayor of New Orleans whom Isaac had managed to royally piss off, the Mikaelsons themselves. There were too many possibilities and no way to narrow them down. A hand ran through his raven locks and he shook his head at her query. “If I knew the answer to that, I’d be in a much more put together state.” He just wanted someone to blame, someone to hate, someone to tear limb from limb. Was that really too much to ask? 

A brow lifts at the way he spoke to her, she could see that he wasn’t okay so for now she’d let that slide. The woman was at a crossroads here, she was great at comforting people ( shocker, right? ) but she was also good at giving people the space they craved until they were ready to talk about whatever it was that was bothering them. The sound of rustling behind her made her turn, seeing a couple of others walk up - just some college kids looking to see what was going on. It only took a shake of her head for them to turn the opposite way and leave it be. Hues turned back to Isaac then before she decided to appease both sides of her, she took a seat on the ground - not giving a shit about getting her jeans dirty. Forearms resting on her knees, she stayed silent for a moment before finally - she spoke up. “Whenever you wanna talk or hit something - I’m pretty durable.” She could hold her own, and if it was what he needed, she was here. 

Nova was someone that Isaac had connected with immediately. It wasn’t electric the way that it was with Scarlett, it was more of a slow burning fire; constant and steady, reliable. They were cut from the same cloth. That much was evident just in their interests. Neither one of them wanted to be tied down at the moment, they sought thrills and danger, they didn’t apologize for much. The second that he saw her motorcycle helmet at Thanksgiving dinner, Isaac knew this girl was going to be important to him. All of that familiarity didn’t change his current predicament, though. If he sat down next to her and opened up, allowed himself to feel more than just the anger and rage that coursed through him? Well, he’d have to feel his grief and sorrow and Isaac was absolutely not ready for that. So on his feet he remained, arms crossed over his chest and shoulders wound tight. “If I say it, it’s real and it can’t be real. If it’s real, it means that I’m a failure and I’m alone. It means that I am the biggest ass on the planet. It means that I have very little to live for other than revenge.” 

It was clear to just about anyone that this guy was just not… having a great time. The way he held himself, the way he barked out an order as if he was his alpha, the anger coming off of him in waves. All signs to just back off but Carson had tunnel vision of sorts. He hasn’t seen Aiden around; the town was small and Aiden was pretty noticeable - at least to Carson he was. Finding a crescent came easy, finding them already irritated and he hadn’t even done anything - better. “Hate to ruin your main character moment here,” Not really, but he’d hold off on that, “Have you seen Aiden ‘round?” 

The second that his accent hit Isaac’s ears, he saw red. He had his suspicions about who had killed his brother and the man in front of him was at the top of that list. There was no love lost between the Crescents and the North Atlantic pack; they had been natural rivals as soon as both packs entered the area. Carson’s interest in Aiden only confirmed the theory Isaac had and he acted as both judge and jury to find the man guilty. A strong hand wrapped around the rival wolf’s throat without warning, his eyes wild with fury and grief. “Why? Is he next on your hit list? Wasn’t enough to kill my brother, you gotta kill his best friend too?”

She knew things were going to go back to the way they were before, Christmas was a one-night thing and as much as she dreaded the morning to come, she knew it would. Something just wasn’t… feeling right. Had it ever upon coming to McKinley? No. But this, this was different. She couldn’t pinpoint what it was but there was a large part of her screaming that it had a lot to do with Isaac. Even when she didn’t want to be, she and her wolf were just… in tune with him. She expected some kind of bite, she was used to it at this point. But the intensity of this bite was something she wasn’t used to, this was… rage, burning hot and ready to tumble over; her first clue to just go. Before she could get a chance to speak, he’s cutting her off and that small flare of anger strikes through her being but a larger part of her is telling her something is wrong and she just… wanted to be there, for whatever it was. She should have walked away, truthfully. But she couldn’t. Hues stay on his back, teeth sinking into the flesh of her cheek before she tries again. “What happened?” 

Scarlett was simultaneously the only and the last person that he wanted to see right now. She was the person that knew him best, the one that could him like a book and yet he held so much resentment for her in this moment. If he hadn’t allowed himself to be happy, to be distracted by her...would Oliver still be here? If he had spent Christmas with his brother and just made up with him instead of allowing himself to sink into the comfort of Scarlett’s embrace, would Ollie still be breathing? It was a question that would haunt him for the rest of his life, he was positive. “Not now, Scar,” he hissed, trying his best to hold his anger back. She didn’t deserve it and he knew that. Every part of him knew it and yet it threatened to boil over at any moment. “I can’t talk about it. I...I can’t, okay?” Wouldn’t was the more accurate turn of phrase, but Isaac was fairly certain the words would catch in his throat if he tried to actually say them. If he spoke it out loud, heard himself say that his brother was gone, there was no taking it back. This couldn’t be shoved off as a nightmare, it would be real.

          Well, it was finally time. Nearly four months since her arrival into this day and age, and she quickly high-tailed it out of there, and straight to Paris. Her destination of choice, when it came to hiding out, something she was positive she’d picked up on from her mother. But alas, there was only so much pretending that could be done, whilst the rest of her seventy-five siblings were running around. Perhaps, a slight exaggeration, but nonetheless, she was from a rather large family, to say the least. So, she was positive her disappearance was barely a blip on the radar. Her belongings were thrown into the first B&B she managed to locate, which would ultimately do for now, as she finally vacated the building, heading into the main street. "You look like a local,” she commented, not fully paying attention, but noticing their comfortable pace, implying they knew where they were going, “where’s the best place to get a margarita? Girl needs a pick-me-up.”

Isaac had been enough vampires to smell them at this point, but he still wasn’t used to the way that hybrids smelled. It was odd when you could sense both in one person. He had no idea how they dealt with it; Isaac was in touch with his wolf, it was his favorite part of himself. The idea of having another side of him that was completely opposite of his primal instincts made him uncomfortable to even consider. It was easy to hate vampires for what they had done to him, but he forced himself to be civil since getting to McKinley. These weren’t New Orleans vampires, they didn’t hurt his pack the way that Marcel and the Mikaelsons had. “Not hardly,” he answered the brunette with a laugh, shaking his head. “For any drink, I’d suggest this little hole in the wall on the outskirts of town. College bar is too crowded for my taste.”
