jade : well i’m a dumb fashion design major now so that’s a good thing. science SUX  jade : growing up is the enemy. literally :(( but ig it’s a part of life  jade : pLSSS do omg ! they look so fun but i don’t even know where to begin really jade : i think you can do it! i believe in u !! just practice & you’ll get there and WIN!! jade : IM PRAYING YOU DONT OMG !  jade : cedarburg, wi is home. idk if u know it cause its small n stuff but that’s the place jade : wbu?? 

“at least not intentionally, anyways,” jane looks back at the students who had jumped out of remi’s way who looked like they were less than pleased and tried to hide her amused smile. “that’ll be fun,” she responds at the mention of remi visiting her parents, “i mean, it could be fun.. seeing family again and all.” jane was lucky to have a good relationship with her dad and brothers but knew that wasn’t the case with everyone. she shifts her weight on her feet and gives a small shrug of her shoulders. “i’ve been the usual,” her hand goes to tuck her hair again, “just really looking forward to summer. campus just feels too stuffy, you know?” 

     remi’s eyes follow jane’s to the students shooting daggers her way, she’s already shrugging her shoulders and waving them off, “ it’s not like i actually ran into them, they had to move two feet ... boohoo , “ she rolled her eyes at them before turning fully back to jane. “ yeah, fun isn’t exactly the word i use for my family ... but ya know moonie is excited so i guess we’ll see how it goes ... “ she shrugs her shoulders once, she knew everybody’s family wasn’t quite as complicated as her own. “ usual ? usual is good ? “ she trails off raising a questioning eyebrow, “ or ... usual is bad .... ? “

“ 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲, 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐢 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐧 a bottle of wine, i’ll pass it to you. i’m not really a wine guy. more of a guy who stresses himself out to the point of hospitalization and then chugs beer when he finally rids himself of all of his responsibilities. “ nice. he narrows his eyes at her, cocking his head. “ hey, now that’s not good for you ! at least stand up while you play your video games so it’s a little bit healthier. i have to stand and walk around when i’m studying so that i can close the rings on my watch. ”

     “ stresses out to the point of hospitalization ? god addison that doesn’t sounds healthy ... not healthy at all , “ genuine concern is laced in her words as she playfully punches his side, “ have you tried like meditation or shit like that ? i hear that is suppose to help with stress ... i’m not sure i just play a first person shooter when i’m feeling particularly stressed ... “ she kicks at the ground beneath her, “ i sometimes convulse and angrily throw things if they don’t go my way ... can we count that ? not sure if an apple watch would but, i do ... “

           the hug was something he instantly melted into, giving her a quick squeeze in return. he had originally been nervous to do it, that was obvious with the way she had teased him afterwards, but now he was absolutely beating himself about the whole situation. she went to school here and he had no idea? here he was thinking they lived on opposite sides of the country. “no, you’re not that tiny, i’m messing with you.” justice grinned, nudging her with his arm. still smaller than he thought, but not the smallest person around. would he ever stop teasing her about it? probably not. “wow.. that’s crazy. you better remember me when you’re making all these big movies. hot shot over here.” there’s a beat before he speaks up again, the happy look disappearing. “i can’t believe you’ve been here this whole time and i had no idea… you probably saw me with my grey hair and said nothing!!” he laughed, hands moving to his dirty blonde hair. 

      it still felt a bit like a whirlwind, finding out justice was here in front of her and not states away. but if the way he squeezed her in return of her hug was any indication any awkwardness that might have been between them was gone. “ i am a PERFECTLY average height, i’ll have you know , “ she boasted with a prideful grin crossing her arms across her chest to excentuate her words. “ big movies ? ... oh come on i’ll be lucky if i end up a PA on a low budget rom com or something equally embarrassing , “ she looks away almost embarrassed by his gushing words, “ i’ve only been here a year now and as you know ... i don’t really ... get out much , “ a red flush colors her cheeks, “ so chances are i didn’t see so you’ll have to show me a picture asap ! “

「    𝘴𝘩𝘦  𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘴  𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘦  than  she’s  pretending  to  be ,  though  he’s  not  in  the  position  to  judge  when  his  bones  feel  like  jelly  and  he  can  barely  concentrate  long  enough  to  form  one  sentence ,  let  alone  hold  an  important  conversation  like  this .    he  leans  clumsily  back  against  a  table ,  ignoring  the  griping  of  the  worker  behind  him  as  glassy  eyes  move  back  to  remi .    “  i  don’t  love  her .  ”    eyebrows  furrow  as  if  that’s  not  what  he  was  expecting  to  say ,  closing  his  eyes  and  taking  in  a  deep  breath  before  trying  again .    “  we’re  not  dating .    not  really .  ”

     even if the words are exactly what her stubborn self wants to hear from she can’t help but feel knocked off kilter by them. “ you don’t ... love her ? “ she repeats slowly eyes narrowing at him momentarily, “ and you’re not really dating ... ? “ as if repeating the words will help them make more sense, “ what the hell does that even mean chase ? “ her head but can’t help but shake her head with a short puff of hair. she really didn’t even have a right to be interrogating her ex like this, not after they had been long broken up, that didn’t mean drunk remi understood that. 

        shit. it was her. it was really her. “w-what.. what are you doing here?!” he was beaming, taking another step forward and extending his arms as if he wanted a hug. though as soon as he realised what he was doing, his arms quickly dropped by his sides, lips curled in slight embarrassment. it was like seeing an old friend, he honestly couldn’t help himself. all justice felt was pure, pure joy. she was someone who made his day because she simply tolerated him, that was something he’d always be thankful for. “you know.. you’re still tiny.” he couldn’t help the small jab at her, a playful smirk appearing. the more he noticed how comfortable she was, and noted the friends behind her, his eyebrows slowly raised, realization hitting him. “–don’t tell me you go to school here.. don’t tell me that.”

     “ here as in at a party ? here as in in wiconsin ? here as in earth ? “ maybe it’s the alcohol in her system or the fact that it’s justice, the one she had spent hours and hours online with, really here in front of her that she finds herself falling into an easy teasing tone. she can’t help but snort a laugh at his actions watching as his arms fall to his side. in a second she finds herself flinging herself up wrapping her arms around the other in a tight hug, “ see that’s how you give a proper hug , “ she muses softly as she pulls away a goofy grin pulling wide on her lips. she wasn’t sure how it happened and how exactly it was possible that he was standing here in front of her. “ i’m NOT that tiny , “ she huffs with a stomp of her foot, finishing with a pout for good measure. “ i could not tell you that but ... it’d be a lie , i started this year , film major , “ she answers grin staying on her lips.

「    𝘩𝘪𝘴  𝘮𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘩  𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘴  a  gentle  ‘o’ ,    nervously  swallowing  as  her  harsh  gaze  finds  him .    he  can’t  help  but  reach  his  hands  out  when  she  pushes  away  from  him ,  afraid  she’s  going  to  fall ,  before  embarrassingly  falling  back  down  to  his  sides  when  she  stands  straighter  than  before .     “  remi  —-  i …  it’s  not  what  you  think .  ”

     her eyes followed the outreach of his hands watching as they fall down to his side as she purses her lips forward. a short harsh laugh come from her chest at his words, arms moving to cross tightly across her chest, “ what does that even mean , chase ? from where i’m standing it seems to sounds very clear , “ she tries to keep herself looking sober and from swaying side to side.

jade : no omg ur good ! i spent like my whole life studying for anatomy freshman yr and i guess it payed off cause jade : i still remember it lmao jade : oh the whole summer most def but ig i gotta do things this summer too :’( jade : playing the games for a job sounds ICONIC but i also suck at them. like real bad. like i don’t now what buttons to push bad lmao jade  : hey, that’s not a bad job!!!!!!!! they’ll tip well hopefully  jade : i don’t think i am :// i miss my mom a lot so im ready to get home as soon as possible  

𝐡𝐞'𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐫 call him charming, it’s over & addison can’t even attempt to suppress his smile. he’d gotten extremely comfortable with remi the past few weeks, even to the point where he found himself missing her. she didn’t hang around him to be considered his knight in shining armor whenever he started melting down. she genuinely liked him, & that was refreshing. “ i’m just kiddin’. i wish i had the ability to buy and keep that much wine. i’ve still got a good year and some change until i’m legal to buy, though. unfortunately. “ it didn’t mean that he didn’t have a fake, though. sneaky boy. “you ? skipping classes ? i thought i taught you better than that, rem. “

     much to remi’s surprise and delight she found herself spending more and more time around addison. if she thought spending more time with the other would help falter her crush, she would be dead wrong. it seemed her heartbeat got louder and the butterflies in her stomach got quicker with each second she spends with him. why did he have to be so dang charming ? “ i was going to say if you’re that rich , you should share the wealth with us less fortunate and low on wine , “ she laughs softly, “ only a little bit more time then your legal though, less then me, “ she shrugs her shoulders. she clutches her free hand to her chest dramatically turning away from him, “ i try, it’s just so hard to get out of bed sometimes .... it’s so comfy ... i try i swear , “ her eyes glint mischievously at him. 

       it was a voice that had his face screwed up, brows furrowed, nose scrunched up and gaze stuck on one person. did he just have one beer too many?? or was he hearing who he thought he was hearing?? but it couldn’t be – there was no way in hell that this was his friend who most of the time, always beat his score in video games.. there was no way that this was one of the few people he enjoyed spending time with whenever he had a free chance to relax and actually do something fun. even despite his tall stature, he was still trying to peak over the many bodies in front of him, gently brushing past them once he heard the girl laugh. again, it was insanely familiar. naturally his heart was telling him to go for it — he had no idea where she lived anyway, so this didn’t seem like something that was completely out of the ordinary when he actually thought about it. and well his head? his head was telling him that even if it wasn’t who he thought it was, he had nothing to be embarrassed over.. he was graduating and leaving after all. “excuse me…” he mumbled to a few more figures as he brushed past them, softly calling out the girl’s name once he got within a reasonable distance. “remi ??“   @ofremis

     it was rare that remi went to parties in general, it was even rare that should found herself surrounded by a group at a party that she even felt slightly comfortable around. but, somehow she had found her way to be surrounded by a group of others from her classes and few others she frequently games way. she’s comfortable even giggling and laughing along with them when she hear’s her name being called out from behind her. the voice is familiar in a way she just can’t put her finger on as she whips her head around searching for a source. it doesn’t take long for her eyes to focus on the tall boy that stands in front of her. for a moment she’s 100% sure she’s seeing things, somebody must have put something in her drink, the face and voice is too familiar. it couldn’t be justice , right ? he couldn’t be here in wisconsin, let alone at a west bridge party. “ j - justice ? “ she finds the name falling out of her lips in surprise as she steps away from her group of friends and towards him, “ no way, justice ? “ she repeats a grin growing slowly on larger and larger onto her lips. 

𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐫, 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐠𝐮𝐧𝐬, as soon as she says the word ‘cowboy’. it wasn’t often that addison got teased for being from the south, but there was something about alcohol that brought out his natural accent, deep & absolutely charming to everyone else. “ hey, don’t say that like i’m an alcoholic or something ! i just have a glass of wine every night to help me go to bed, y’know ? nothing excessive or anything. “ he rolls his eyes at her summer plans, taking a moment to choose his next words carefully. “ it sounds like the same thing that you’re doin’ right now, just with a few different variables. are you sure it’s gonna be a good summer if you do that ? “

     maybe it’s the alcohol running through her system but suddenly remi feels like her might just explode from his short cheesy movements. “ a charming gentlemen cowboy at that , “ she muses tipping a pretend hat at him. “ a glass of wine every night ? “ she gives him an amused look a raise of both of her eyebrows, “ totally not excessive, can you go to bed without it ? “ she brings the cup to her lips and she tips her head back finishing it. her face scrunches at his words before she is quickly shaking her head at him, “ nooooo ! i won’t be worrying about the papers i have to write or classes i’m skipping, it’s totally different and will totally be a goo- well ok summer ! “

“ 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐡, 𝐡𝐞𝐲, 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 — 𝐦𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐞 𝐢 𝐚𝐦 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 little something something— “ & by that, he means that he pregamed even before the bonfire & copped the first drink that he saw once he arrived. “ give me a break, yeah ? it’s been a crazy fuckin’ semester. don’t look at me all disappointed like that. i’m fine. it’s gonna be fine. “ give him a shot of something clear, however, & that statement may no longer have any legs to hold itself up. “ enough about me. how’ve you been ?  what are your summer plans ? "

     remi gave addison a scrutinizing look, amused yet still scrutinizing that is, as she nursed the red solo cup in her hand. “ whatever you say cowboy , whatever you say ... “ she hums with a soft laugh as she brings her own cup up hesitantly to her lips. she hadn’t planned to come to the party if she was being honest but know all her friends, and addison, would be at the bonefire could she really pass it up ? “ it’s not disappointment i swear ! just because i’m not up to your level yet doesn’t mean i’m not feeling it , “ she giggles holding her cup as if for emphasis, “ my summer plans ? stay in town, play video games, bother moonie and maybe get a summer job .... exciting things right ? “

jade: it’s super weird wtf like???? have i become addicted to the cortisol???? jade: oh you def should. hibernation is SOOOO a necessity for the first part of summer  jade: playing games sounds fun but work??? absolutely not jade: but i need one to :((( i need some extra money for next semester jade: have you thought about any potential jobs yet?
