â and you did a good job snookums, i can honestly say i never got so much joy over watching my uncle get frustrated.â he smirked. there was reason enough for them not to be friends, in name alone. but theo found he liked the closeness he found with the others âkidsâ from the future. there was a history there feelings that they all shared in one way or another. he didnât fault brett for his but he was glad they could call each other friend. â please nothing about you is tiny brett and nothing you ask for is tiny either.â laughing he pushed his plate to the side. â just tell me what you need and iâll tell you if its doable.âÂ
âWell, Iâm glad that someone appreciated my antics. You know, it really is just so hard to get respect for the amount of effort I put into causing that chaos. Fairly certain that my short time there was the cause of at least half of Damonâs gray hair.â There was a note of pride in his voice as he spoke, self-satisfied grin splitting his face. Theo was the only person that he could really be himself with and he was glad that that fact hadnât changed even with their jaunt back into the past. The journey had brought a lot of Brettâs resentment and anger back and he really needed to find a way to keep a handle on it. âOoh, a bit forward there, arenât you?â Brett teased before quickly moving on. âIf I wrote something out, think you could get a message to Lizzie for me? I need something from her stepdad and I donât think I left it on the best terms with her.âÂ

âThe Grill was a shit hole.â And the words flew from his mouth without any regard for his own safe. Which was common for JD as a person, not caring about the consequences is what led him into so many fucked up circumstances of his own making. The very most fucked up of them all sitting casually at a diner, and JD should have turned tail and headed out the moment he saw him. Instead he spoke, instead he approached, instead he chased the high instead of running from it. It appeared to be his way. âThough you might be familiar with those, cause I have to imagine thatâs where youâve been all this time instead of here. Hiding in a shitty hole like I donât know, a rabbit? A groundhog? Fuck.â Perhaps he needed to know about some animals more before making a reference.Â
âSure, but even the greasiest of greasy spoon diners can make a decent breakfast,â he answered with an amused smile. It was obvious that the Salvatore man was angry with him, so upset that he wasnât as quick with the witty comeback as usual. He understood it. In all honesty, JD had every reason to dislike Brett. For one, Brett was actively looking for ways to destroy the family that had raised and cared for the younger man and would stop at absolutely nothing until he got his revenge. For two, Brett was absolutely the reason that the girl that JD fancied deep down was part vampire now. And finally? Well, JD cared about Brett and while the Mikaelson man felt the same, he was a lot better at keeping it buried. âIs someone cross with me? No one else out here hold your interest the way I do?âÂ

âAnything like you?â Well, if her sense were anything to go by, she knew exactly what he was. âNo, I wouldnât say that.â The brunette challenged, hardly putting werewolves on anywhere near the same platform as a vampire, who seemed far more interested in destruction and the slaughtering of human life, than much else, at least, with her own experiences of the species. âTotally different species, for that matter.â But, she understood his sentiment nonetheless. âFor the sake of understanding your point though, sure, letâs pretend weâre in the same league.â Despite being far from it. âAh, let me guess,â his word choice was making this all fairly obvious now, especially given her own recent dealings with those not from this âcurrent settingâ, âyouâre our very own Marty McFly?â Or, rather, one of many Marty McFlyâs. âWell, Marty, as long as youâre not about to tell me youâre my kid, I wonât bite your head off today.â Heâd oddly enough picked an interesting time to strike a conversation with her, considering her very obvious distaste towards his species. But, right now, she was far too lonely, and far too pissed off at other people, to care about anyone else on her radar. There was too much going on in the life of Caitrin Silva, and frankly, he should be thankful for that.
The amount of vitriol that she had in her voice when she said different species made him smirk. Brett was used to people thinking that vampires were the scourge of the supernatural community, and the thought certainly didnât bother him anymore. No, now this whole conversation became just a bit more of a challenge and Brett wasnât one to back down. âSo judgey, love. Hardly seems fair when you donât even know me.â He grinned at the Back to the Future reference, giving a nod of approval at being compared to the time traveler. âIâve certainly been called worse.â His nose wrinkles at her question, shaking his head vigorously. âI resent the implication that Iâd reveal that information on the first conversation, but to sate your curiosity, weâre not related. And thank god, as fit as you fuckinâ are.â God, his life was weird. Having to reassure a woman that they werenât kin wasnât something heâd thought heâd ever have to do. âSo which one of us freaked you out with the kid reveal? Thereâs just so many options.â

there was a part of priscilla that worried being in mckinley was an accident waiting to happen, very close to where she had lived and died. though when receiving her first charge in the area it wasnât like she could avoid it. so here she was, in place where her face could be recognized, she could bump into a person or two that she knew, and she would have to think on her feet. the woman was no stranger to a challenge, she was sure she could handle it. as the other replied, priscilla leaned a hip and arm against the empty booth opposite him, making herself comfortable. â i love lucy, huh ? favorite episode ? â she wonders with a grin, a fan herself. at the ask of her name the whitelighter hesitated, was it a smart choice to give her real one ? should she lie ? â monroe, â she replies, not entirely a lie nor the truth. it was her middle name and her motherâs maiden name, something that priscilla hadnât regularly given to folks when she was alive. â and yours ? â
Monroe. So, not Priscilla. Had his birth mother had a twin that he had managed to remain unaware of for the last five decades, or had she unknowingly been a doppelganger? There was no other explanation for the woman in front of him. It takes him absolutely no time to think of the episode that he liked the most, grin coming over him just remembering the first time that heâd seen it. âDefinitely the one where Lucy tries to hide the fact that she bought furniture from Ricky. Everything about that episode was chaos, you canât help but let yourself get sucked in.â He thought for a second before continuing. âI like classics a lot more than I like anything current, though. Give me a bottle of jack, a pizza, and Casablanca and Iâm set for the evening.â He holds out his hand for her to take, seeing no reason not to be polite even if this woman wasnât his mother. âNice to meet you, Monroe. Iâm Brett.âÂ

Gray watched the male and frowned a little as the male replied. Gray never understood the males tendancy to avoid or be aggravated by the salvatores - but then he might have been in the dark about something making him feel that way. âYou may not have asked but you made a statement about this place⌠I figured it was open to friendly debate⌠but guess I was wrong.âÂ
Brett raised an eyebrow at the sentiment, shaking his head. There was a sinister little smile on his face as he kept his seat but his glare settled on Gray. âNot quite sure how youâd get that idea, Salvatore. See, in order to have a friendly debate, you usually have to be friends first. And you and me? Well, letâs just say Iâd rather kill ya than kiss ya.â

She didnât expect for her life to get so crazy once she handed over Hope to Nik, though she did have to give them brownie points for at least waiting until she was no longer in the presence of an innocent child. That would have ended in a blood bath that sheâd like to keep AWAY from her precious niece. A chime of the door is rang out as the blonde steps into the diner, being met with the warmth of the kitchen and aroma of the food being cooked. She could really go for a bite - and not the kind she usually went for, she dealt with that before she returned. âI do have a soft spot for this place.â She was inclined to agree.Â
Fuck, Aunt Bex was a sight for sore eyes. The second that she stepped in the door, Brett felt himself go cold all over, hair standing on end. He was nervous to be in front of her. For him, it was the first time in twenty years since theyâd laid eyes on each other, at least while she was conscious and for her? Well, he was a stranger. The thought made him sick to his stomach but he persevered, tiny smile on his lips as she agreed. âOh yeah?â he asked, motioning for her to join him and hoping that sheâd take the offer. âWhatâs your favorite thing here?â

âIt is,â she said flatly, knowing damn well that caffeine and coffee were only going to make what she was going through worse but she wanted to feel happy - to enjoy something as if it would be taken away from her if she looked away for a moment. âBut after the past few weeks Iâve had I need it and donât give a damnâ
Brett wasnât going to act like he and Lamai had been best friends in their version of home, but the Bennetts were a far cry better than most of the families that heâd been trapped with. âAnd what the hell happened to you the past few weeks?â he asked, an eyebrow raised in question. Heâd minded his own business since theyâd gone back in time, but apparently some of the other kids had been through quite the ordeal.Â

Itâd been a long few days, and ultimately, Cait was avoiding anywhere where she thought her apparent âbestieâ was going to be. The man far too wrapped up in himself, so right now, she figured Dannyâs Diner would do, hardly the Lockwood vibe. The woman tucking into a half-eaten plate of chicken wings, hot sauce on the side, as she was otherwise taken aback by the conversation thrown her way. âCanât confirm, nor deny.â Sheâd never been to Mystic Falls. That was Hayleyâs job, evidently. Much like getting into Tylerâs pants, but hey-ho. âNever been. Donât care to either.â A shrug followed, seeing no urge to visit Mystic Falls, not only because of this barrier sheâd heard was up. âDonât tell me youâre another Falls native?â God, they were really breeding like rabbits over there. âHonestly, is there anyone left over there?â
Brettâs willingness to talk to strangers waned with the day and his mood. Back in 2063, he hadnât been anything of a social butterfly. No, that was a role that he preferred to leave to the Forbesâ of the world. Brett minded his business, biding his time, searching for ways to take down the families that had dared to take his mother from him when he was only a few months old. However, when someone was fit as her walked in the door? Well, even Brett was going to take notice of that. âIf youâre anything like me, you kind of canât right now. Better than when I lived there, though. Back then, we couldnât get out. And not in the fun metaphorical way, but the literal trapped like rats way.â He smirks at her question, shaking his head. âDunno whoâs there now. Ainât exactly familiar with the area in itâs current setting.âÂ
rxgclityâ:
âI donât know, have you had the mozzarella sticks because they give The Grill a run for their money,â she said as she stole a fry off of their plate and popped it in her mouth. She knew she was probably in the minority but she wished to stay here, having found a home and a relatively fun place to be herself. The part that she found hardest was having to explain that to her family if the time ever came to go back
âEh, if Iâm gonna eat cheese, I really prefer it to be on top of my carb of choice rather than stuffed inside of it. Iâm an elitist like that,â Brett answered. Pizza was the superior way to eat cheese and there would be no convincing him otherwise. Brett hadnât done a whole lot of catching up with his family since theyâd gone back in time, but he was happy to see that Isabella seemed happy. âYou doing alright, Iz?â
becomingfracturedâ:
it was taking everything in her to not scour the entire earth for her tiny son, but she had to be smart about it. start with her charges and buy herself some time and a cover. so here she was in mckinley, ready to start her new life.  â well, diner food is undeniably better than any other kind of food and thatâs just science, â she quips matter-of-factly as she was walking by the otherâs table, her to-go bag containing a hefty pancake and omelette plate. as her eyes landed on the owner of the voice that had pulled her focus, a feeling of familiarity spread through her chest. priscilla was new being a whitelighter and being back from the dead. there were gaps and holes in her memory, the elders told her it was a side effect of the whole dead thing. but this face, there was something about it, something about him, she couldnât place it. â someone try to argue that with ya ? â she asks, trying to keep the conversation going. did she know him before ? only one way to find out.Â
This had to be a joke. Someone was messing with his mind, someone had drugged him, he was hallucinating. That was the only explanation to how the hell the woman in front of him was actually sitting there. Brett had been disappointed, after all, to find out what year theyâd been sent back to when it happened because even in this time his mother was dead. And yet...fuck, here she was right in front of him. Either that or someone was well and truly a fucked up individual and thought that messing with him like this was funny. If that was the case, heâd have no problem ripping their throat out with his teeth. He tried to play it cool just in case, unwilling to get his hopes up. âIâm inclined to agree with you. Only thing better than a stack of pancakes is an I Love Lucy marathon.â He shakes his head at the question, smiling in a gentle way that was so not Brett. âNah, no arguing. Um, whatâs your name?â Well, that was tactful.Â
gilbertslytheriinâ:
â you would say that, werenât you the one cooking the food at one pointâ theo smirked taking a fork full of hash browns in his mouth. there was a little bit of homesickness. good memories that unfortunately for theo were often drowned out by bad. the grill had been one of those good memories; going with his family for dinner. it was a quiet reminder of a time before things went to shit. â their breakfast food beats the girlls hands down tho.â he mused throwing his arm back over the booth. full from the meal heâd have to work off later. âdonât tell me you brought me out just to stuff me with food and reminisce . iâve got a kickboxing class in a few hours in which iâll be useless in.â
While Brett hated nearly every Salvatore, Gilbert or Donovan to walk the earth, every rule had exceptions and Theo was his. Well, Theo and JD. The situation with JD was complicated and messy but Theo was easy. Brett enjoyed his company and he didnât enjoy much ever since heâd found out the truth about his parentage, so this wasnât a relationship he was willing to give up. âFairly certain that I only worked at the Grill in my attempt to bring the reputation of the joint down during Damonâs tenure as owner, in my defense,â he joked. Every joke was laced with truth, and there was more than a hint of honesty in the statement. âMm, I brought you out here because I need a little, eensy, tiny favor.â

âYou might be right.â Otto admitted with a small chuckle. âBut Iâm a little high and anything would work for me.â He said with a shrug. While he was close with his parents, he wasnât either a witch or a human. He loved them of course, geeking out with Dorian but things changed when they were asleep. So it hardened Otto and he became the man he was today. âI do want to go the Grill though.â He said with a sad smile. âBut I guess Iâll have to wait.â He looked at the otherâs fries. âAre you going to eat that?â He asked.Â
âAlright, O, didnât ask for the whole damn life story. Though, I guess Iâll be a little less cross with you than I regularly would since youâre at least agreeing with me.â Brett appreciated the need to stay close to the other future kids (the ones that he could stand, at least) but he was still him. A little crass, a little sassy, a little bit of an asshole depending on the day. Kol Mikaelson had raised him, after all, what did anyone expect? âNah, you can have it. I was hoping itâd hit the spot but Iâm a bit hungrier for the human stuff than usual.âÂ
ofxcuredxsalvatoresâ:
Gray chuckled. He had been a strong supported of the Grill- perhaps as a sentimental reason since his uncle was supposed to love it quite a bit⌠along with his dad. He had admitted Dannyâs had some great stuff too though. âI dunno, I kinda love the grillâŚbut this place does some pretty impressive stuff.â He admitted.
Brett didnât like the Salvatores. It was a grudge that went back decades, and his little tryst with JD had only made it an even more present thought in his mind. Gray, while inoffensive on the surface, was the son of one of the people Brett hated most on this planet and that made him the enemy. âIâll be sure to file that away in the little corner of my brain that I call âanswers to questions I never fuckinâ askedâ.â
