OFMD Not-AUpril Day 6! Last Day of Drabble Week!
choose three words to complete a line horizontally, diagonally, or vertically. then write 100 words including your chosen prompt words!
want more words? complete two lines and write 200 words, or three lines for 300 words!
artists, pick prompts for a 5 (1 prompt), 10 (2) or 15 (3) minute sketch! podficcers, post a video / audio clip of you reading as many drabbles as you can in 5 minutes!
reblog with your prompt fills! (or post them on bluesky as a quote to the daily post!)
See the main OFMD Not-AUpril post for more info on what we're up to this month ~
The prompt timezone runs from about midnight BST -> about midnight in American Samoa so you have about 36 hours to respond to each daily prompt. So if you see this on a day that doesn't make sense... that's why!

It's nearly April, and you know what that means...
Presenting: Not-AUpril!
A month of drabbles, quick-fire (and longer-form) prompts, and invitations to make things in forms beyond prose.
We're doing something a bit different this year, after all the excitement of the #OFMDCraftFair.
Each week has a theme, and every day its own prompt! Many of them silly, some of them meaty, hopefully something for everyone!
For more info, come join us on bluesky.
Link to all the prompts in spreadsheet form:
Weeks Line-up [see the graphics above for the daily prompts, alt text provided]
WEEK 1: Drabble Week ⚡ (Tues 1st – Sunday 6th) Every day we’ll post a grid of nine words for you to use as you wish. Do as many or as few as you like – the world’s your oyster!
WEEK 2: Random Generator Week 🎲 (Monday 7th – Friday 11th) A staple writing prompt tactic, we invite you to roll the dice with us! Each day has a generator attached which you can use. Or, you can interpret the prompt however you want! [see the spreadsheet above for links]
WEEK 3: Canon Inspo Week 🏴☠️ (Sun 13th – Fri 18th) Since this is NOT AUpril, we looked to OFMD’s canon for a single word to represent each episode. Each day has three episode prompts (e.g. 13th April is 1x1, 1x2, 1x3). You don’t have to stick to canon with what you create, but let canon inspire you!
WEEK 4: Sensory Week 👃 (Saturday 19th – Wednesday 23rd) Inspired by the #OFMDcraftfair, this week is a chance to explore the things we love about OFMD with our hands and other parts - through the senses! [see the spreadsheet above for links]
WEEK 5: Form Fuckery Week 🌀 (Friday 25th – Tuesday 29th) Prose is great, but sometimes it’s fun to shake things up! This week, why not play around with metre, rhyme and layout! Get silly, let it be amateurish - have fun with it!
Guidelines:
any medium counts—especially this year!
post your work on—or any time after—the prompt day
do as many (or as few) days as you like
tag your posts #ofmd aupril and use the AO3 collection [link]
rec existing works in reply/reblog of the relevant post
hype others’ works! cheer each other on!
remember: more cake!
and since we’re mixing things up this year...
try something new! we’re swashbuckling, let’s have fun with it!
Brought to you by @ghostalservice @loopslip @veeagainsttheday and @petrichorca
We hope you’ll join us for a month of silly, off-the-cuff creating! Any questions, just ask.

Ok, forget all that fandom nonsense, I was sent the most ridiculous image I've seen in m entire life to the point I couldn't even breathe from how hard I was laughing and my brain has been reset.
NO SÉ NI POR DÓNDE EMPEZAR
anyway the actual point of fandom is to inspire each other. reading each other's fics and admiring each other's art and saying wow i love this and i feel something and i want to invoke this in other people, i want to write a sentence that feels like a meteor shower, i want to paint a kiss with such tenderness it makes you ache, i want to create something that someone else somewhere will see it and think oh, i need to do that too, right now. i am embracing being a corny cunt on main to say inspiring each other is one of the things humanity is best at and one of the things fandom is built for and i think that's beautiful

Spotted a prompt card for @ofmdjanuaury's OFMD drabble week so I figured why not:
nothing - cape - dunk
--
Izzy isn't a fan of Halloween, but Ed made him come to Bonnet's party, so here Izzy is, wearing a cape over the sort of black outfit he wears every day.
"Izzy!" Roach grabs Izzy by his arm and drags him into a corner of the living room. "Your turn to bob for apples!"
"What?" Izzy splutters.
Frenchie pulls his head out of the bowl, nothing in his mouth. "This is way too hard, Roach!"
Roach pushes Izzy forward. "Now you dunk your head in there."
Izzy eyes the bowl suspiciously and sighs. This is gonna be a long night.

OFMD drabble week - day 1
Prompts and rules here
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nothing - Blow - Bright
Ed's muscles screamed as he swam. His sopping leathers weighed him down, but he had to keep going. Nothing mattered other than getting back to the Revenge before the English could blow her out of the water. Heart pounding, he scaled the ladder and hoisted himself over the ship's railing. The bright smile that greeted him was almost blinding in its intensity. But there was no time to bask; if they didn't hoist the white flag, they'd all be goners. He didn't know what would happen next, but he knew he could face anything with his co-captain by his side.
nothing – cape – dunk
Ed’s been holding up well, all things considered. ‘All things’ being having a mad crush on his best friend. But nothing could’ve prepared him for Stede’s Halloween costume. A superhero, really? As if it wasn’t bad enough that Stede parades around in skinny jeans on the daily, Ed now has to deal with seeing him in a leotard and tights, not to mention the cape he keeps swishing around. Ed is so done for. He needs to dunk his head in cold water, or he’ll combust. Or. He could put all his skull-shaped candy in one basket and tell him.
