hiatus notice! hey guys, sorry for my complete lack of being here. school has been a lot as i’ve tried to adjust, as well as just general life things you know. i haven’t had much time to play the outer worlds which means my muse for jackie isn’t really around at the moment. i still love her greatly and hopefully i’ll be back here but for now i’m just gonna step back. if you have me on discord feel free to keep in touch there! as of right now i do have slight inspiration for another oc so i might make that blog but we’ll see. i truly hope everyone is doing well!!

good afternoon folks!! today we had to take our dog to the vet for a quick lil ear surgery ( he’s okay! ) and i’m about to go pick him back up. i have class things to work on and keeping an eye on the pupper so i probably won’t be around much today, if anything maybe later tonight. hope everyone is doing well and that their day goes smoothly!!

it is amazing how quickly human emotions can change. when only a few seconds before jackie had been a mixed bag of fear, anger, and pain, all of those seemed to melt away with the rain that slowly began to fall from the sky. still breathing heavy from the fight and slightly blinded by the traveler’s brilliant white light, the guardian couldn’t help but let out a loud yell of excitement. ghaul was destroyed and not only was their traveler free---- but it was AWAKE.
now there was joy and happiness, a relief she hadn’t felt in weeks. slowly beginning to jump up and down, she made her way over towards taasi. in such a short amount of time, the two had grown closer than jackie could have ever imagined. since the beginning of the red war they were together and through to the end of it, they stayed together. “ we did it! ” she cheered, pulling the other in for a big hug. in her excitement, helmets bump together and she lets out another joyous laugh. with a quick command towards her ghost, her helmet phases out, as the water begins to fall a little harder than before. hands shaking with nerves and excitement, she reaches out and fumbles with the attachments of taasi’s own helmet before taking it off. lightly dropping it, she cups the awoken’s face in her hands before pulling her in for a big, surprising kiss. so much had happened between the two, words wouldn’t be enough to describe how jackie felt. smiling into the kiss she finally pulls back, hands still in place.

guardian’s don’t remember their past. the traveler blessing them with a second chance. most guardian’s adopt a new name if they are unable to know who they might’ve been. other’s are reborn close to home and photos or documents give them a hint of who they once were. jackie’s ghost found her upon the lost colony ship of the hope, destined for titan during the golden age. with only a single file stating her name and what her occupation was to be on titan ( an engineer to work on the hydro-methane pumps ) , the new guardian decided to not look too much further than that.
by guardian standpoints, jackie is a relatively old. she arrived to the last city not long after it’s completion and since took part in many historic moments of the city—- the battle of six fronts, the great ahamkara hunt, and even the battle of twilight gap. however, the one that stuck with jackie the most was the city’s faction wars. with the fallen closing in around them, the last thing jackie could come to respect was the people trying to grab for power in such a desperate time. even now she hates the presence of any faction within the tower’s walls.
as far as hunter stereotypes go, jackie might fit the bill a bit too well at times. she’s charismatic and quick on the draw, even quicker with a knife. while she enjoys the company of her fellow guardians, she’s still a lone wolf at times, choosing to patrol and search for lost sectors on her own. but when she is in a fireteam, she’s focused and sometimes finds herself in the leading position—- though she wouldn’t call herself a leader by any definition of the word. there are a few other guardians she’s close enough with to consider a fireteam ( the unreliable is their name ) but not every mission is done together. while she’s a fan of shaxx, jackie usually doesn’t partake in crucible matches except for a few rare occasions and is less likely to join in on the iron banner when lord saladin returns to the tower.
throughout the more recent events, the unreliable crew entered the vault of glass and destroyed atheon. jackie alone was one of the six to volunteer to be sent down to the pit and destroy crota upon eris’ return to the tower. with the hive being a major fear of hers, she delved a bit more into research and exploring the moon instead of dealing with skolas directly. the unreliable fireteam is also there to slay oryx in his throne world, once again knocking down a major hive player. when it comes to the enemies of the city, it is the hive and the vex that jackie worries about the most.
needless to say, she hadn’t seen the red legion attack coming in any form. but, even without her light, she was ready and willing to take up arms against the cabal. upon ghaul’s destruction, she was a little more than intrigued at the invite to calus’ leviathan. unsure of what this world eating ship and the fact that calus is but a metal suit puppet, jackie often finds herself returning to the ship. less for calus’ treasures and more for information ( though the gifts do help ). she is also interested in the return of osiris and the infinite forest. doing what she can to stop the vex and their ever folding timelines. and just when she thinks she can take a break, jackie is called to mars to handle a new but ancient hive incursion as well as take out one of their worm god’s xol.
a guardian’s life never stops though and most moments of peace are interrupted by chaos. being a hunter, and she liked to think of herself as a good friend to the vanguard, cayde-6, jackie is gutted at his death. uldren sov was someone she’d thought little of, not taking much part in the queen’s wrath or the handling of skolas. regardless, vengeance fuels her and hunts down the barons one by one before putting a bullet in uldren’s head as well. in doing so, she begins to unearth the secrets of the awoken and what queen mara sov might have been playing at. when the ahamkara is revealed to be beneath the dreaming city, jackie wastes no time joining the fight to take care of it. upon discovery that riven of a thousand voices was corrupting uldren, there is a pang of guilt for the murder of the awoken prince, but jackie has buried those emotions deep and will deal with them when the time comes.
the tower is different, empty, without cayde’s presence but she and everyone else slowly begins to move forward. when eris morn calls from the moon, jackie is quick to leap into action. she throws herself into the fray, helping eris take care of these nightmares as well as doing her best to uncover the mystery behind the pyramid beneath the moon. if only they had known what truly laid so close to home.
the roar of canon fire is nothing compared to the snarl that rips from the very depths of taasi’s soul the moment she watched that cage collapse in around the traveler. she was standing in the courtyard when it happened. that first wave shook the foundations of the tower, but the sight of that cage is what broke her. she first does not notice the other guardian that comes scrambling from the hallway, doesn’t see anything but the traveler until she’s left staggering to catch her balance. her eyes are wide, wild with fury and fear, hands tightening around the rifle she’s pulled from her back. her words are stolen too for a moment, there is nothing but grief clutching to her throat. but a resounding crash beside her startles her from it, a pod of cabal coming from it with weapons drawn.
she finds her voice.
❝ we fight ! ❞ she swings her weapon up and a few patient shots leave the corpses of cabal at her feet. she turns then, to a guardian she recognizes but she has never spoken a word to. not until now. ❝ we need to fight. we need to save the traveler. we need to save the city. ❞ another pod of cabal crash into the tower and she moves back, to higher ground where she can get the best shot in.
❝ CMON! ❞
for a split second there is panic. everything is moving too fast for her to keep track of---- to process quick enough. she can barely wrap her mind around the idea of someone attacking the traveler directly, of trying to steal it away. all that is quickly pushed aside when the cabal pod lands on the courtyard, crashing into one of the vaults. with a flourish of her weapon, jackie releases a few quick shots before giving a nod to her fellow hunter. “ for the city! ”
as more pods land in the courtyard, jackie sprints forward into them, the blind rage driving her into the fray. she’s focused on the task at hand---- clear out the courtyard, the next step will present itself when needed. hand cannon in one hand, the other gripping her knife, she moves between the massive cabal with such speed that one blink and you’d miss her. she shoots, uses the falling corpse to leap onto another cabal, knife driven into skull. “ we need to find their command ship! ” she shouts over the sounds of gunfire and explosions. just as she’s about to speak again, ask her ghost to scan for nearby enemy vessels another series of missiles crash into the courtyard. jackie manages to keep her balance, taking cover behind the mail booth. “ what do you see! ” she calls out towards the other. a familiar hunter, one she has seen in passing, though rarely spoken to.
