âmine is worse.â illyana stated, her tone matter-of-fact. not that it made much difference to her, but she supposed there was little sheâd find in his aura that would surprise her. part of her was curious for his reaction, but moreso she had a bit of a puzzle to solve on the state of him â as he was meant to be dead. âeverybody has aura, but itâs more energy than a tell-all.â
she let out a hum as her head tiled. remaining quiet for several moments as she was seemingly looking for something in the space around him. âyou died, i would presume your loved ones buried your body or it was cremated, yet you are here.â if it was uncomfortable to discuss someoneâs dead body with them, she didnât realize. âso is this only your consciousness or has your physical being been brought here and reanimated? this is what i look for.â
âand to answer your question, yes stephen as aura, even the sentient cloak. why do you ask?â
âyou know one thing i love about you? youâre always so refreshingly frank,â tony said, and he actually meant it. after a lifetime of people like obadiah stane and justin hammer, it was so damn nice to talk to someone who were straight up self aware and not apologetic.Â
âah, so ... like an advanced mood ring, i guess,â he said at her explanation. âi asked to be cremated in my will, so -- iâm guessing my soul detached at some point, because i really donât remember being barbequed. speaking of which -- souls are real, right? i mean, i assume they are, but ...â he looked down at himself. âi donât look particularly translucent.â
he raised his eyebrows at the mention of the cloak having an aura. âso ... does that mean itâs alive? or just sentient? how does that work? would an AI have an aura?â
folding his arms across his chest, he found himself more intrigued by the process than worried. âso... go on, hit me. what does my aura look like?â had he deliberately side stepped the question about stephen? maybe.
