a force to be reckoned with

iliana took a moment to think over his words. “mike... hu-” she stopped before she could finish the name and glared at him, though an amused look on her face tried to show itself. “you got me, you’re funny,” she deadpanned. a smile broke her glare.

iliana started laughing quietly, moving her hand to cover her mouth before shrugging her shoulders. “just the usual. first they’ll act like there’s been some accident and then they use that same line or like it.” she cupped her chin as if she was thinking. “now that i think about it, it sounds like the same culprit,” she said, mocking a serious tone as a smile formed indicating that it was playful. she sighed. “sadly this is the most action for a case i’ve gotten lately.” 

iliana couldn’t help the bubble of laughter from the girls words. “i was always too afraid to even try because of my dad- never had a sense of humor. my friends when i was younger on the other hand, were able to create masterpieces whenever they called up our neighbors.” she smiled at the memories. “i had to live vicariously through them and their stories.” 

“i don’t think i’d be as annoyed by prank calls at work if the kids were actually clever. “  she said before quickly adding, “annoyed still, but at least entertained.”
