Reading War and Peace for the first time after listening to Great Comet and finding out that Pierre was staying with the Kuragins in Petersburg and partying with Anatole and Dolokhov every night is so scary. Like ohhhhh Pierre don’t do that!! Partying with Anatole is a bad idea!!!! And then Andrei tells him this and Pierre does it anyway and next thing you know Pierre and Anatole have tied a cop to a bear.

remember when we had a beautifully staged innovative musical with a diverse cast that used music as a medium for character as well as plot and was so so stunning to look at to boot. remember when. and remember when somehow a show that was so against taking a stance that it comes across as excusing terrible behavior because of mental health at best and glorifying the debilitating effects of mental illness at worst swept the tonys that year instead. remember when there were two shows that featured the band as part of the cast for most (bandstand) if not all (great comet) of the show and a bland pop-rock musical somehow won best orchestrations over that?? jesus christ man. fuck.
