Ruby tutted quietly when her question went unanswered, but decided to drop it. “Yeah, I’ve been okay. With the decent food Mother and dear Father brought along, I’ve gained a bit of weight back,” she said, glancing down at her tummy that had gone practically concave in the woods.

“That’s good” Taylor gave Ruby a smile. “I haven’t blood in months” Taylor blurted out. He had intended to keep quiet on the matter but it just kind of came out. 

Ruby pulled a long expression and had half a mind to give him another hug. “What do you mean ‘not good’?” She asked, and then shrugged. “Father was pleasant enough. I hardly saw mother, but you know.” She shrugged again, leaving out the part where she was going to say that it made it ever more pleasant to not have their mother hovering over her with her disapproving sneer.

“That’s good” Taylor nodded, even though he himself didn’t care at all for their father, he knew that Ruby loved him and if she had a good time with him, that was good enough. “And you’ve been ok since the whole, shit show?” 

“Taylor! How are you? I just wondering where you were!”

“Not good” Taylor shook his head. “Hi, how are you? Did you have a good visit with mother and father?”
