her cheeks began to flush the moment she realized this was in fact a spot he shared more often than not. did she sit here out of habit or because she truly forgot? as much as she wished it was the later, something told her, her mind betrayed her and forced into a routine that was such a habit when the two were dating. it wasn’t just his spot, but theirs, for awhile. regina decided not to comment on this, instead letting out a small sigh and shaking her head, “no, you’re right. it’s your spot. besides, free country so, i suppose i can’t really make you move, hm?” she tried to give him a small smile, like she was just being playful but it quickly fell flat. looking back at her laptop, she shook her head before closing it and glancing back at him, “it’s going. i’m kind of stuck on a chapter at the moment and i’m trying to sort through all the plot lines i had written down and for some reason nothing is really connecting so…” she gives him a small shrug and quick sigh before taking a sip of her coffee. “writers block is the absolute worst. but i suppose it beats dealing with fainting patients,” she teases with a small smile.
"i mean... you can try your hardest to force me to move. depends on the degree as to which you can stand the sight of my face.” he matched her smile, somewhat awkwardly, uncharacteristic for the man as a whole but more normal for his encounters with regina. observing the flush of colour that spread across her face, he took a moment to consider the events that had led them from a functional relationship to this. “i’d offer to take a look but you know i can’t actually even remember the last time i read something for fun. i’ll be the first to grab a copy of your book the day you release it though” his smile widened slightly, while their relationship may be over, there was nothing that pleased ezra more than the though of the people in his life achieving their goals. “believe me, i barely dealt with him. had a quick look at the kid’s leg while i passed them, just in case, but there’s not much a surgeon can do for a fainting teenager.”
