“Zauriel, please. There is no need to apologize. I understand it’s difficult to put names to faces when so many come and go so quickly. And I more than most understand that the crowds can become overwhelming.” J’onn’s hand rests gently on Zauriel’s shoulder, guiding him to a slightly less busy corner of the lobby so they can stand and watch, un-interrupted and un-jostled. “There. If you need a refresher course on some of our reserve members’ names, I’m happy to help.”
“It’s not the crowds,” he protests, but his wings once more speak to the contrary, gratefully stretching out in the emptier space. “It’s just...” The fallen angel clears his throat. “Forgive me,” he implores once more of his friend. Perhaps he is asking a little much of himself to form the same level of partnership instantly with those he has known but a fleeting moment in comparison... “There are many allies here. Some I have already fought beside, even. I should know their names, as their teammate.”
