𝚋𝚕𝚊𝚌𝚔 𝚙𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚕.

          seulki’s cold resolve broke the instant tears freely flowed out of rei’s eyes. the restraint to keep his hands to himself, to stay rigid and wound up completely gone as he felt his own heartbeat stutter within his chest. that was the problem and the solution to most things, rei being his heartbeat. at times where he felt his own humanity slipping from whatever, rei was always there to remind him that there was more to him than the blood thirsty vampire trying to claw it’s way out. then there were times like these, when seulki had wished he could just shut off everything and move on, forget there were people he cared about. but, he could never imagine himself not caring about rei, no matter how hard he wished the boy away, he would never truly want that. what comes out of the boy’s mouth shocks seulki, stuns him enough to go completely rigid, mouth parting open slightly as dark brows raise up. on pure instinct alone, the vampire gathers the crying boy in his arms, pulling him close, an arm winding around rei’s waist to steady him in his lap. not caring in the slightest where they were or who was looking, seulki rakes a hand through rei’s hair before letting his thumb wipe at the falling tears, “oh, heartbeat,” he breathes out, steeling himself, “it’s not just as simple as me not wanting to drink from you. god, i— i do, probably more than anyone, but there’s so much more to it.” closing his eyes for a moment, seulki collects himself, “i don’t want to hurt you, there’s always the possibility i get too caught up and i could— i could kill you, rei. and then it’s so overwhelming because i—” catching himself before he can continue the sentence: because i love you. “nevermind.” seulki mumbles, shaking his head, the words ruin our friendship ringing in his mind. that’s all it’d ever be, friendship, and he couldn’t will it to be anything more even if he wanted more so desperately. “if whatever feelings you felt were taking over you so much, i want you to talk to me, i don’t want this to happen again, baby, i love you—” so much more than he would ever know, “ and i can’t— i really can’t be without you, it breaks my heart.”

          he didn’t know what came over him in that moment. never once in his life did seulki wish to speak to rei in a tone like that, one reserved for the worst of the worst in seulki’s life, but he was hurt. he couldn’t explain it, well, he didn’t want to explain it to it’s full extent. there was too much to unravel and unfold when it came to the ins and outs of his heart. one thing he knew for sure, one thing he was alright with admitting to himself and out loud was that rei was his heartbeat. the boy across from him kept him human and feeling the distance dragging between them felt like multiple wooden stakes being driven straight into the heart he was so desperate to keep. yet, he can’t help how cold he comes off, how he’s pushing more and more distance between them. a defense mechanism, a horrible one, but one nonetheless, that saves him from getting too attached ( as if he already wasn’t ). there’s a moment, a pause and seulki has to take a deep breath, eyes closing to compose himself when he hears how defeated the other was. there’s a part of him that wants to remain cold, to keep his distance from rei because why not just break your own heart before someone else does it for you? yet, as much as he wants to, he knows he can’t. he knows how he feels about the boy in front of him, knows the love won’t go away just because, knows he doesn’t want it to go away no matter how hurt he is. it’s that love that makes his eyes open once again, the cold demeanor diminished slightly watching beautiful, brown eyes turn glassy. “as much as i want to give you the cold shoulder right now just like you did to me, i’m not going to,” even if it sounds like it. “don’t run away from me again, rei. sit down and talk to me,” an instinct to move himself next to the boy, hold him, brush the tears that are about to fall off his cheeks, “or we can go somewhere more private. i care about you, baby, i just wanna know why? what happened, what did i say to make you completely ignore me?”

Emmeline had spent a couple of hours each days since school started again training in the quidditch pitch, she hadn’t joined the team since it was against her parents wishes after all they found it too unlady like for their precious doll but that didn’t stop her from training on her own and building muscles for the sport. It was a secret of hers, she knew that her parents had eyes and ears on the school with the help of their so called friends and she also knew that if she was caught it would only bring her even more trouble but she was confident in her hability to keep it secret. She was the great Emmeline Vance after all. Though she was wrong, hearing the footsteps growing closer she knew it, she was caught, but not everything was gone since it was  Rei. A sigh of relief left her mouth as she sat, giving him a tired smile “Hello there” She was safe. “What brings you here? Hoping for a match?” 

to put it bleakly: jyn was bored. she usually didn’t mind charms but it was a review day and she found the seconds dragging along. rather than sulk, she decided to maliciously place her books and pencil case along her desk. they formed a shield, hiding her phone usage from professor flintwick — and before she knew it class was over. she quickly gathered her belongings and scurried out of class, but not before saying goodbye to her teacher. normally she would’ve noticed the single green tie in the sea of yellow and blue but she was busy discussing quidditch with her friends. then, she heard a familiar voice call her name.  ❝ hey, rei! ❞ she smiled, signaling her friends to carry on without her. she was done with school for the day and she didn’t want to keep them from their ancient ruins course.  she nodded at his request and as his explanation carried on, she could see exactly where it was going. a large grin exposed her realization as she couldn’t help but find the entire situation adorable.  ❝ of course! ❞ she agreed almost too enthusiastically, unable to contain her glee. normally she would’ve linked arms with him but she wasn’t quite sure how he was in regards to personal space so she simply gave him a nudge before leading the way to the kitchen. ❝ you have to help me in the kitchen, though. ❞

                     the  cool  ocean  water  engulfs  her  tiny  frame ,  pulling  forth  a  tiny  gasp  as  goosebumps   c a s c a d e   the  length  of  her  legs.  it  doesn’t  stop  her  however ,  as  they  both  dive  DEEPER  beneath  the  surface.  haneul  only  letting  him  go  so  that  she  could  get  swept  up  by  the  push  and  pull;  the  banshee  riding  the  small  waves  like  a  natural  rollercoaster  with  only  herself  on  board.  then  and  there  she  truly  could’ve  choked  on  the  giggles  that  rei  had  caused.  their  laughter  mixing  together  like  the  sweetest  healing  potion  one  could  concoct––  a  strange  mix  of  ingredients  always  having  the  most  ENDLESS  amount  of  possibilities.  seeing  him  and  spending  this  time  together  making  her  eyes  g l e a m   with  happiness  beneath  the  burning  sun.  ‘  it  seems  you’ve  just  described  me  as  a  crayon , ’  she  teases  while  her  quill  more  or  less  struggles  to  keep  it’s  feathers  from  getting  soaked.   but  she  appreciates  his  words  more  than  he  could  know.  what  he  said  running  through  her  mind  as  she  soaks  up  the  sun.  haneul  lifting  her  chin  to  the  sky  with  a  soft  hum  until  she  feels  a  harsh  rain.  the  surprise  of  getting  splashed  causing  her  competitive  nature  she  didn’t   R E A L I Z E   she  had  to  rise  from  the  dead.  ‘  you  better  run !!!  ’  her  quill  had  warned  him  with  no  command  from  haneul.  the  girl  more  focused  on  digging  her  feet  into  the  squishy  sand  and  chasing  after  her  unlikely  friend.  

jisoo had been somewhat alone at hogwarts when he first started, the people who thought he’d be in slytherin and then turned his back on him the minute he got sorted into a different house. he definitely felt blessed when reo befriended him quickly, finding it easy to be around the boy, and not feel judged, instead just cared for and loved. “you deserve kindness, and i don’t think anybody is undeserving of being treated like a human, but you especially deserve to be treated better. hey, you’re my best friend and i love you, i really do. maybe i love you more than a simple best friend should, but it’s just a lot of love here.” jisoo giggled hearing rei explain it would be nothing but a hex and no matter what rei would be speaking of he’d always be attentive to his words and have a smile on his face. “no violence, not even a hex, i can take care of myself, but i don’t mind you protecting me.” he smiled. “yes, baby steps but i do want to do this, with you, i want to try new things and maybe explore and learn more about myself, but only if it’s with you. there’s nothing that could ever ruin things between us.” he smiled before kissing him again. “there is someone special out there for me, and i just kissed him.”

          the last few days had seemingly gone by in a blur, yet were the slowest that seulki could remember from his twenty years of life. he knew exactly why too, which didn’t help the aching feeling in his chest and the stretching of distance between him and his own heartbeat. during the night, when the moon was at it’s highest peak and the darkness crept through the floorboards, seulki had woken with a start, eyes a crimson color, and fangs digging into his bottom lip, drawing the metallic tasting liquid from his skin. it was at those times when he had to reel himself back into reality because what he wanted to grab onto wasn’t there to anchor him down. the thought of that, the thought that somehow and someway, rei wasn’t close to him anymore drove a human sized hole in his heart. seulki could get by just fine, he’d gotten by easily without anyone for as long as he could remember. however, life always has a funny way of working. for someone who never wanted to get close to others, in fear that they would get hurt because of him or he would have to watch them die right before his eyes, rei became everything to seulki. when someone is everything to you, it hurts even more when they’re not there anymore. sure, the last conversation they had wasn’t one seulki ever wanted to have, but he didn’t expect the outcome of it to be so extreme. he could tell rei was doing his best to avoid him. at first, seulki tried to talk to him, tried to wave at him, to smile at him, really anything to get the other boy’s attention, but it never worked. he would be shut down by a quick glance away or not even a glance in his direction at all. it’s why he didn’t expect the same person to be sitting across from him in the library now, seulki’s eyes losing all fondness when rei begins to speak, “that i am.” tone cold and drawn back, unlike anything he’d spoken to rei before with, “do you suddenly care how i’ve been or is this just small talk? because i’ll gladly get up and leave per your suggestion, your highness, i’m sure there’s no one else you’d rather be with less.”

it had been a long and difficult couple of days for rei and there were more reasons for that than one. one of them being because of a huge test he had soon that he could just not concentrate long enough to study for. and the reason for that was the second thing that had been making the days difficult for him and that was a certain vampire that he hadn’t talked to in days despite being on his mind the whole time. it’s not that he didn’t want to talk to seulki, but he just couldn’t find the words to explain to him why he had stayed away for so long and that ended up creating even more distance between them. it was starting to take a toll on his studying habits and he just couldn’t have that or else he’d risk another disappointing call from his father, and so he decided to take his studying to the campus library in hopes that he could get some actual studying done in the peace and quiet. when he arrived, there were quite a few people there and there weren’t any empty ones. rei decided to go to the table at the very back, noticing that there was someone there as well but not caring enough to actually look at them. “i’m gonna sit here to study and you can leave if you have a problem with that,” he muttered as he set his things onto the table and plopped down onto the chair without another word, making it very clear that he wasn’t going to make conversation. his curiosity got the best of him and so he looked up to see who exactly it was that was across from him and, thanks to his incredible luck, it was seulki. “seulki? i.. you’re here?” he asked, eyes open wide in surprise. “um.. how have you been? are you getting some studying done?”

      He’d like  to believe he had the cards in his hands, but he didn’t. give a little, take a little. The push and the pull, or else why would he still be here. There is interest, but Haesoo didn’t dig deeper, a game was a game. “Sounds to me like you may actually care what I think or maybe who I spend my time with.” she then tilted her head. She wasn’t like the many he has lined up, yes, he could move on to another, frankly it was his choice. Haesoo liked to believe she had the upper hand, because she was the one he couldn’t get his hands on. He reached over to fix a strand of her hair, and she pretended to bite his finger. “I’m fine with that.” she gave him a smile.

rei was often the type to stay within his circle of slytherin friends since he could relate to them more often than the people from the other houses. but he did have a soft spot for jyn, the bubbly hufflepuff that could honestly light up a whole room. hufflepuffs in general were always harder to treat anything but kindly and he honestly envied that. but for now, he was willing to put away the pride that came with being a slytherin and ask jyn the favor that had been on his mind the last few days. waiting outside what he knew was her classroom, rei watched as a sea of hogwarts students tumbled out, their robes all swishing about. he watched intently as he tried to find the girl he was looking for. it took a couple moments for rei to spot her, but he quickly dashed through the crowd of students to get to her before she got too far. “jyn, wait!” he shouted out, almost running into a ravenclaw in the process. finally, he caught up to her before anyone else could get in the way. “i.. had a favor to ask you,” he said, breathing a little hard from the exertion of running across the hall. “i shared those cookies you made me with some of my housemates and they loved them. except i kind of told them i was the one who made them,”rei admitted. he looked around before continuing his words, wary of any other listeners of their conversation. “and well, i’ve never learned how to bake so i was wondering if you could help me?”

    She didn’t need contact, frankly she really only needed the attention of the subject she was playing with and if she didn’t, she’d find a way to obtain it. He was never part of the plan, sure she’d find someone and do whatever she wanted. Their interaction was just suppose to be simple,  but this was Rei and simple didn’t suit him. Haesoo walked in moving in the direction of the empty table and sat down. she chuckled at his words, he was teasing her, so she would do the same.“Who is to say I don’t?.” she stated with a smirk. “Someone who doesn’t mind my nail digging.” she then reached over and mimicked that, and then glanced at her perfectly painted red nails. “Hair pulling, I do enjoy running my hands through their hair.” she smiled as gave him a visual.“Gives them a bit of a rush.” she stated innocently and then added a wink. 

jisoo had once dreamed about being a slytherin, joining the same house his parents had once been in and making them proud. the moment the sorting hat placed him in hufflepuff his heart sank, but now he loved his house, actually felt at peace and at home with the hat’s decision and knew that this was where he belonged. “if that’s the case then so are you, you’re a really good guy rei, so it’s not a matter of the house really. we’re all individuals and to me you’re probably too good for a lot of things. maybe not this,” he smirked before pressing his lips on rei’s cheek. “also, not very keen on violence so let’s try and avoid that. do you want it to happen?” he asked the other, a bit taken away by rei’s words, still trying to fully process what that could entail. “no it’s not bad and i’m not gonna lie and say i haven’t thought about it but i don’t know it’s all just a lot. still i think you’re attractive, so maybe baby steps until it leads up to that?” his voice was low and soft as he held the other, leaning closer to rei’s features as he heard his best friend praise him. it was a moment of pure ecstasy and impulse as jisoo pressed his lips against rei’s and give his best friend, his first kiss. “now you can say you’ve been at least one of my first’s,” he mused as he pulled away.
