A very late Christmas related drawing with my OCs. Ulrich and Mezzy enjoying hot cocoa together. There was a lot more to this, as in, I had planned a background/location but due to this drawing taking wayy too long to finish. I decided to finish as much as I can because I'm ready to move on.

i honestly believe human beings are not meant to live like this. we are meant to live in loving communities and be around nature every day and grow our own food and create art and not work day and night until we die. this longing for another life is not human nature, itās a symptom of modern society.
Not people saying āFandom has always been like thisā in that vent post I made. No. It hasnāt always been like this. Fandom has NEVER been like this until recently and if you were in fandom pre-tumblr purge, pre-twitter, pre-netflix boom, pre-tiktokā¦.then you would fucking know it was nothing like this.
We still had the drive to create. We still sold prints and charms and made zinesā¦but it was never like this.
The introduction of streaming, binge shows that drop all at once, tiktok and vine RIP i still love u vine but you were the beginning of a particularly ugly era) creating this bite sized, quick paced ācontentā era of creation and it bled out into fucking everything else.
Fandoms didnāt die down when the show ended or the season was over. You didnāt mass unfollow artist, writers or moots just because they changed fandoms. There wasnāt this need to please the algorithm in order for your posts to get seen by people and enjoyed.
Fandoms used to last YEARS. Star Trek is literally the oldest running fandom out there and you got people in there that could care less about the new stuff and still have been happily prancing through their fucking fifty year old fandom today. Hell, even SPN after all itās fuckups and shitshows has a dedicated fanbase STILL creating tons of art and fic.
There is no patience anymore. No calm feeling of taking in fandom and friends at a pace that which doesnāt make you stressed and is still fun.
Do I blame fandom for this? Of course not, but people are complacent with it and start changing their vocab to accommodate and end up making the situation so deep it cant be fixed.
We call Art & Fic Content now, completely stripping the value of what it is to a level of consumerism instead of personal entertainment & community bonding.

OC ideas and sketches from July to June. 1. Mezzy allows her monster friend, Ulrich, to experience his nails being painted. He finds it weird, lol. 2. Harpy-dragon hybrid. This is just a rough draft, I might not keep this character design.
3. Muscle monster girl, no name at this time. I might keep her around. I had fun drawing this character since I love strong women.
I still draw from time to time, but doing sketches and OC art keeps me satisfied. It will probably be a while until I make more fan art since I am busy working on video projects for my YT channel. But yeah, I'm still around. Just really busy lately.
