loc     .     the     north     woods    ,     late     sunset

                    ・   。   ◟      there’s    more    𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭    among    the    stalks    than    in    the    camp    .    satyrs    are    too    intimidated    by    a    titan    blessed    demigod    ,    nymphs    don’t    care    enough    to    hold    grudges    for    the    nature    destroyed    by    an    army    she    almost    held    in    her    palm    .    but    camp    ;    where    the    stares    never    stop    &    the    whispers    never    quiet    –    dana    would    rather    them    charge    her    than    hide    behind    gossip    ,    the    orange    clad    warriors    never    had    much    𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐄    .    with    her    eyes    trained    on    a    dead    clearing    –    yellow    grass    &    wilted    branches    ,    she    leans    against    a    tall    spear    dug    into    the    dirt    .    ❝                        it’s    a    bit    late    to    be    out    here    ,    don’t    you    think    ?    ❞    she    asks    the    demigod    stepped    into    the    clearing    ,    hues    remain    cast    downward    .    ❝                      should    get    a    plant    kid    out    here    ,    heal    this    clearing    .    ❞

after   dinner   had   been   cleared   &   everyone   had   returned   to   their   cabins   for   the   evening   ,   nazareth   had   gathered   a   sketchbook   ,   his   headphones   ,   and   a   flashlight   &   slipped   away   into   the   camp   half   -   blood   forest   for   some   genuine   quiet   time   .   at   camp   ,   there   was   always   something   going   on   ,   always   some   hustle   &   bustle   that   would   ultimately   drive   naz   crazy   if   he   didn’t   escape   every   once   in   a   while   .   the   sun   had   begun   to   set   when   nazareth   settled   himself   as   far   as   he   could   justify   within   the   woods   ,   legs   tucked   beneath   him   &   sketchbook   settled   on   his   lap   .   the   clunky   headphones   blasted   some   weird   punk   rock   band   in   his   ears   as   his   nimble   fingers   took   to   SCRIBBLING   black   ink   all   over   the   page   in   some   sort   of   scribblism   art   form   .   

time   passed   faster   like   this   because   before   he   knew   it   ,   the   sun   was   almost   fully   settled   over   the   curve   of   the   earth   &   he   could   hear   the   faint   mumblings   of   someone   speaking   to   him   .   sliding   one   headphone   off   of   his   ear   ,   naz   glanced   at   dana   ,   catching   the   tail   end   of   her   question   .   ever   the   awkward   one   ,   the   boy   simply   gazed   back   down   at   the   piece   of   art   in   his   hands   so   as   not   to   hold   eye   contact   a   beat   too   long   .   “   uh   …   maybe   ?   i   don’t   know   .   doesn’t   really   matter   to   me   .   ”   he   gave   a   small   shrug   of   his   shoulders   .   “   i   brought   this   if   it   makes   you   feel   any   better   ,   ”   he   muttered   ,   lifting   the   flashlight   into   view   .   “   what   about   you   ?   isn’t   it   a   little   late   for   you   to   be   out   here   ,   ”   nazareth   questioned   ,   pointedly   ,   deciding   to   ignore   her   comment   about   the   rotten   nature   of   the   clearing   .

𝒇𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓                     open . 

𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏   :   the  tyche  cabin ,  morning . 

                  “   hey             ”     his  voice  cuts  through  the  early  morning  silence  like  a  hot  knife  through  butter .  birds  in  a  nearby  tree  take  flight ,  opting  for  the  safety  of  taking  cover            not  an  option  to  his  fellow  demigods .  jesse’s  presence  takes  up  room ,  fills  the  camp’s  protective  barriers           suffocates .  his  big  head is  90%  of  his  volume .   “   wanna  play  a  round  of  hearts ?   ”   he  taps  his  deck  of  cards  on  his  knee  before  standing  up ,  arm  wrapped  around  a  column  that  blinks  with  casino  lights ,  half  -  hanging  off  of  his  cabin’s  front  porch .   “   unless            and  my  apologies             ”   he  pauses ,  worn  deck  pressed  over  his  heart .   “   unless  you’re  too  fucking  chicken  shit .   ”   it’s  a  cheap  attempt  at  goading  his  opponent ,  he’s  well  aware            and  yet  he  doesn’t  care .  he’s  looking  for  entertainment ,  a  rush  greater  than  sitting  in  the  doorway  of  his  cabin  shuffling  cards .  his  course  of  action  is  well  oiled  and  thought  out           should  they  decline ,  he’d  poke  at  them  incessantly .  should  they  accept            they  were  stupid . 

nazareth’s   feet   dragged   as   he   wandered   back   to   his   cabin   from   the   climbing   wall   .   he   had   made   his   way   down   to   train   early   in   the   morning   before   all   the   ares   cabin   kids   invaded   the   place   .   but   that   didn’t   make   the   training   any   less   exhausting   .   naz   stared   down   at   his   singed   boots   as   he   shuffled   along   ,   causing   jesse’s   voice   to   catch   him   off   guard   .   his   dark   gaze   snapped   up   to   meet   the   other’s   ,   already   rolling   his   eyes   at   the   offer   .   everyone   at   camp   half   -   blood   was   GOOD   at   something   ,   some   were   extraordinarily   good   at   certain   things   .   but   you   could   only   be   so   good   when   luck   wasn’t   on   your   side   .   

which   is   exactly   why   nazareth   had   no   intention   of   entering   into   ANY   game   of   cards   against   jesse   .   a   rare   chuckle   shook   the   raven   -   haired   boy’s   shoulders   as   he   shook   his   head   .   “   you   must   think   i’m   fuckin   ’   stupid   ,   huh   ,   jesse   ?   that   i   was   born   yesterday   or   somethin   ’   ?   ”   nonetheless   ,   naz   approached   the   tyche   cabin   ,   a   smirk   on   his   full   lips   .   “   we   all   know   you   would   absolutely   kick   my   ass   at   hearts   …   ”   he   trailed   off   ,   eyeing   jesse   .

[  HWANG HYUNJIN, TWENTY, CIS MALE, PYROKINESIS  ] ╰  NAZARETH  SONG  just  came  over  half - blood  hill .  you  know ,  the  child  of  HADES  who  was  claimed  five  years  ago ?  i've  heard  chiron  say  that  he  is  INDIVIDUALISTIC  &  TRANQUIL ,  but  if  you  ask  the  aphrodite  kids ,  they'd  say  they're  BIZARRE  &  RECKLESS .  i'd  say  they  remind  me  of  smudged  black  eyeliner  ,  frigid  fingertips  ,  floppy  raven  hair  being  held  from  your  eyes  ,  and  bass  vibrating  from  speakers  ,  especially  since  they're  NEUTRAL .
