Rewind

Sofia spent a solid hour trying to plan her outfit for her get-together with Dan. She didn’t want to look too formal but she wanted to look presentable. She didn’t want to look rushed or too casual, but she wanted something that wasn’t too expensive, just in case she got it dirty since they were going on a picnic. 

She finally settled on a pink floral dress and white sandals. She wore her hair in her usual style, and let it settle below her shoulders. She sent a text to Dan to let her know she was on her way and went outside to hail a taxi. As she pulled up to the park, she breathed in deeply. What was this? Surely he didn’t think they were official, right? She couldn’t handle that right now. As she walked over to Dan, she smirked, seeing him sitting there. “Oh, really?” She raised a brow. “I hope that’s your first one,” she said, taking a seat next to him. “You’re so cute when you get nervous around me,” she said, leaning over to kiss him on the cheek.

Dan knew he looked his best in a basic white tshirt, plaid shirt and skinny jeans, a versitle outfit at best. the shirt doubled up as a small additional picnic blanket if required. Yet, knowing he looked good didn’t compare to how Sofie looked in his eyes. She did always know how to dress for the ocassion. “You look amazing.” He murmured, neglected her statements.

“yeah, it was" cece had a cup of coffee that she take a sip before continue. ”but I don’t go much at parties, that night was a big exception. It was fun, but still a exception. a friend of mine almost forced me to go, to celebrate her birthday“

You’d be surprised, but I don’t think your mom would be happy with me if I let my mouth run any further. School was difficult, but so is life. Good, we got one out of three. That’s more than some. 

And I do it on purpose too. Good. Abstinence is key. Don’t do drugs. Stay in school. 

Probably, but I trust my bitty babies; I encourage private space.

Dan worried his lip between his teeth as he sat perched almost nervously on the blaknet he had set out for himself and Sofie. This was there first real one on one date. Sure they had gone to the festival together, but they met up with people on off the whole time. It didn’t have that alone time he had been hoping to get with the girl.

He was surprised by how quickly he had let himself fall into feelings with the girl. Usually he hooked up and moved on. Losing his dad had made him reconsuder his actions but not to the point he thought he’d be trying to get himself into a relationship. And not with Sofie Lopez of all people. They were friends. Fuck buddies once. Friends always. It wasn’t something he should be considering.

Sofie: True, very true.

Sofie: So...picnic? I'll meet you there?

Dan: I'll be waiting by the Alice in Wonderland statue.

I wonder how many childhood trauma points I’m forcing on my children by being on social media.

Sofie: Do you mean you need to kiss me more before we "start?"

Dan: I mean, we've already skipped that part

Sofie: We didn't start? What do we have to do to start? ;)

Dan: Well got a proper start...

her eyes went down when he talked, making her blush. she thought she was being discreet, but the masculine voice proved the contrary. “I’m just… I had that feeling, that I saw you at a party a couple days ago. not sure tho, sorry for staring too much”

Sofie: Good. Because if it's not apple, we're done. ;)

Dan: Done before we even start?

Sofie: Only if it's apple juice.

Dan: I'll make it apple juice
