when tatum received the text from jude notifying her that he was out front, she stumbled out of her apartment, in full black sweats, already high as a goddamn kite, definitely not herself, but still with a smile on her face. having been punched in the ribs and the face only about an hour ago, it wasn’t quite pleasant to walk; or do anything, really. the director glanced around the area to make sure no one saw her make her way into the passenger seat of his car. she closed the door with a loud sigh and turned to face him with a grin, bruised chin and all, “hey. i can explain.”

“thank you,” she replied through the tiniest hint of a tight-lipped smile. with all she had confided in jude, aurora could tell that his statement was genuine and it did mean something to her even now after all the heartbreak he had put her through. before she could stop herself, she was chuckling softly about his choice of words – and following attempt at an explanation. as much as it pained her to see him again, she couldn’t deny how easily he’d always brought a laugh to her lips, whether intentionally or through the awkwardness of their current encounter. “you don’t have to do that,” she shook her head, her cheeks suddenly feeling very hot at the thought of jude looking at her recent shoots for rihanna’s lingerie company, namely the one she had just come from whenever they were released. “i can just… show you some,” she found herself suggesting in an attempt to prevent him from looking her up later. it was the first time she found herself hoping someone didn’t come across the photos. there was something about the way he spoke, the broken syllables giving in to her harsh statement, that pained her on the inside. she watched him for a moment before taking a quick breath as she slowly said, “sorry, we can catch up. i didn’t mean to.. there’s no reason we can’t catch up. if you want to, at least.” gnawing at her bottom lip, she mentally hit herself for not taking the opportunity to get out of what felt like must be her personal hell, instead gesturing towards an empty table by the window where she took a seat. “you don’t have to look at these, but if you were actually curious…” she slid her phone across the table towards him, open to her photo album on a series of photos from a recent print haute couture shoot.

“ mhm, ” she nods, smiling softly at his next words. “ that’s what i like to hear, ” the blonde chuckles softly along with him. alanna looks over at his words, nodding slightly as she looks down for a few moments as he continues. “ yeah .. i dunno. i don’t think it’s really like that, ”  she responds with a light shrug, before taking the blunt back from him. jude had been the one person alanna always loved hanging out and getting high with, he just had good vibes. she takes a few puffs from the blunt, letting the smoke blow in the space between them. “ that’s not true at all. they have posted stories about me that aren’t true at all , ” she tells him, looking over at him before  taking a few more hits from the blunt and handing it back over to him. alanna chuckles lightly at his next words. “  oh yeah , thanks. tyra calls it a smize , smiling with your eyes, ” she tells him.

tatum: who do i need to fight, i'm in the mood for it

tatum: good thing ur chill bc i sure as hell aint

tatum: u know gio's fuckin psycho gf right? or maybe they broke up at this point idk & idc
