     elvie stuck his foot out, jamming a worn green converse sneaker into the door to keep it from sliding shut. she hurt him, but he still didn’t hesitate to help her when she asked. pathetic, he chastised himself with a snort. it’s the first time he’s gotten a good look at her since he started avoiding her weeks ago. it was much easier to do than he was expecting. would you mind please? elvie huffed as he leaned and forward and pressed the button for the floor below his. “funny, that was the exact thought i had while i was watching you dump me by agreeing to go on a date with another guy over twitter.” weeks of avoiding her, only for him to spill his guts the moment he saw her again.

“thank you” she murmured once more, focusing her gaze on him for a moment before returning back towards the doors. the doctor expected to the ride to her floor to be completely silent. it wasn’t like elvie liked hanging out with her anymore. it was amazing how nervous she felt. subconsciously, she drew the bags closer to her chest. however when elvie piped up, astrea’s eyebrows furrowed up in confusion. “what...are you talking about?” she asked, turning towards him. “i didn’t dump you? i didn’t know we...were together?” she tilted her head. “what date?”
