When I was a young girl, my father used to make us a stew from a recipe he created. Though I doubt your translator would be able to pick up it’s name, it tasted wonderful.

HEADCANON - Before Moshae, she was Sjefa

In becoming the Moshae she gave up a lot of freedoms, but one in particular is a freedom most people outside the Angara don’t give much thought to.

In order to become the Moshae, Sjefa gave up her family name. Because she is of the people, she had to set aside her ties to any Angara in particular, lest people begin to think that any Angara is better then the other because they share a name with the Moshae.

For an Angara to give up their family name, it shows an incredible sacrifice. As they thrive on their connections, most families being very large and interconnected through the family tree, isolating yourself by not associating to your family name is usually seen as lessening oneself. It is incredibly uncommon for an Angara to do so, and as a result, those who are required are regarded almost mournfully. To give up your family name and your ties is like giving up a part of yourself. But for the Moshae, it is an expected self-sacrifice.

That being said, she still does have a full name. Few care to remember it, mostly those from before the Kett, and those of her students who would read her work from before her time as the Moshae. Her full name exists and she still responds to it if called. But it is more of a fond memory now, with her being the last of her immediate family (of whom possessed the name) alive to begin with, she is less apprehensive about addressing it and being addressed by it.

It isn’t too hard to find if you’re looking for it, but the Angara don’t regard her beyond her title anyway and she’s never the first to bring it up. But you can find out what it is if you simply thought to ask her.

A moment passes, filled with the warm chuckle of your amusement, a chime of bells inside your head as you take that time to appreciate the Angara before you. Never change Evfra, never change.

A benefit on both parts, he would have his chance to make it known precisely where they stand, and you would appear all the more saintly, that they might be more pliable to your influence, understanding they are dealing with the gentle force.

Ultimately there were no downsides. The more unpleasant of a visit it is, the more you can weave the flow of decision making in your favor.
