I'm an illustrator & graphic designer who likes to draw characters, illustrate songs and occassionally dabbles in fanart. I draw inspiration from visuals from older times, music and fantasy. The last fanfare

I drew this while listening to "Mouse Parade" by Of Monsters and Men and was inspired to try and convey the atmosphere of the song in this concept sketch. I enjoy using this technique when I want to brainstorm concepts, it's a quick way to jot down visual ideas and I like how unfinished it looks. Ink, black coloured pencil and white gel pen.

A doodle from my sketchbook.

My original concept for this project's location was a train (like an old-timey Orient Express type of thing), but I figured a hotel might be a more practical setting. The train idea fascinates me, though, maybe it will appear at some point? I think I'll make one of the doors in the hotel lead straight to this train.
