Violence against Muslims seems to have become a defining feature of India. Muslim bodies are being targeted on a regular basis and left bloodied and disabled, and every path at seeking a recourse is being actively blocked. There is no help to found with the municipality, the panchayat, the police or at courts. Every government body that is supposedly tasked with maintaining the welfare of the citizens is actively working against a whole section of citizens in covering up many cases of violence. And still if those harmed persist in trying to bring accountability, they find themselves facing a social boycott. In Maharashtra, a Muslim man's left arm was nearly severed over a missing pot lid, the accused has been granted bail and the families who wanted to hold the accused accountable find their businesses being shunned by the whole community around them.
