While it seemed like we were entering an era of old-internet revival and indie websites in the fight against the dead-internet, a significant road block has emerged. Prices have inflated drastically for server parts, memory, storage, and server-hosting itself. This puts all non-profit online communities in peril.
As a result, the site owner has opened a Patreon so that the community can help cover the costs of keeping us online.
Important clarification:
The NRaas mods are NEVER going to be paywalled.
The project will remain open-source and free for everyone. Donations are optional.
These mods are still in active development!
The site and mods have been maintained by Chain_Reaction since Twallan's retirement, providing countless updates and support. Lots of cool stuff over there if you haven't updated in a hot minute.
There is no pressure to donate if your situation does not allow for it. Thank you for the consideration!
Long post ahead with information on the situation and some incentives for reaching membership goals.
If you've had some trouble accessing the site over the past week or so:
The situation is directly caused by the greed and encroachment of something weâre all uncomfortably familiar with: AI companies and the companies investing in them (of simmer relevance, that includes EA and Krafton (InZoi)).
NRaas is not the first nor will it be the last to be affected. Website servers already suffer from bots trawling and scraping their content â including your content that you write and share just about anywhere. Now theyâre being bought off entirely.
Archives and file-hosting are at high risk. Myrient is a recent example of an archive that went offline for this very reason.
It can feel a bit grim, but I want to assure you that the burden isn't yours to bear as an individual. As a community, it's actually quite easy to become hostile - and more important, unprofitable - to these invasive species as it were.
The past 26 years of modding and storytelling was OVERWHELMINGLY built upon free software, non-profit websites, and shared resources. A few unscrupulous paywallers and corporate greed isn't going to rewrite that history. Greed is the minority - but it does try to eat everything in its path.
That's all I ask - if you enjoy the fruits of The Sims community or enjoy being a part of it, make it just a little more inconvenient to swallow us.
Do not tolerate GenAI in our community spaces.
Do not support EA or Krafton. Let obscurity and irrelevancy devour them.
Do participate in the community wherever you think you'd find a little piece of purpose - make a blog for your stories, come chat with us in the Chatterbox forum at NRaas, make your first mod.
Lastly:
In a separate post, I'll be posting some CC incentives that will be released as milestones are reached. This content will not be paywalled - it will be posted for free as thanks to the community.

After making defaults for the little girls, I decided to make these so their big sisters could match with them!
'tfbodysnowbunny' replaced with lenasha's rainy day coats! There's two different versions because there were too many recolours I liked to only choose 4 XD
Version 1: Mix and Match | Download (SFS)
Version 2: Solid Colours | Download (SFS)
ONLY PUT ONE IN YOUR GAME! But you should be able to have the other recolours along with the defaults, just delete the colours you chose for defaults so you don't have duplicates.

I thought these rain coats were super cute and it doesn't seem like someone's made a default with them before? I went with colours that didn't have disney characters on them because I wanted it to work in anyone's game, but you should be able to have the other colours in your game at the same time (though you'd want to delete the blue, orange, and red files, so you don't have duplicates)
Hey guys! I originally wanted to post sims 2 family photos for Christmas, but those were supposed to be at the end of round 5...as you can tell I didn't really get around to starting round 5, but I still wanted to post something for Christmas, so the Oakes family is back!
I love this household and I'd really like to go back to playing them but I need to sort out rotational gameplay settings so I don't have to play with 13 sims at the same time...for now I've just gone in and taken a pic because I was actually planning to do a group picture for Christmas back before I took a break from this save, and otherwise I'd have to wait another year.

Apparently many of my posts that mention 'woohoo' are getting flagged as potentially mature... tumblr seems to default to hiding mature posts so I'd recommend going into settings and turning on "show mature content" and "blur mature content" so you're not getting T-rated sims stuff hidden from you (but you can still choose whether or not to reveal actual mature stuff)

To end off round 4 and celebrate my favourite holiday, here are all of the sims in my hood dressing up in costume and taking family/group pics!
Starting with the Brokes:
I actually had a different couples costume planned for Daisy and Dustin but it didn't have a pregnant morph, so I had to quickly find a suit in the game that kind of looks like what the white rabbit wears đ
Next the Burbs:
I included the cat this time! Also John and Jennifer in matching costumes cause I feel like they would try to act like everything's normal...
Delarosa (+ Dreamer):
Admittedly it was kinda hard coming up with all the couples costumes so this one is ringleader and clown I guess??? I would've had Darren dress up as something art related but I didn't really have anything.
Goth + Lothario:
Sadly Erica doesn't have a costume, and her clothes were the closest thing to orange I had lol (Need to download more baby clothes clearly) Also why did my dumbass put waldo as the most front and centre đ
The Jacquets:
This is the first time I'm doing a portrait for them, but halloween seemed like a good time for it. Denise was easy to decide a costume for lol

The only single sim portrait, at least he has the jack-o-lantern for company.

Well anyway, Tessa brought a friend home from school, Isaiah Gavigan (one of the bin sims that I may or may not be adding into the hood at some point)
The dog's name is Max btw, Idk why I forgot it last time lol
The office is a mess because of this dog, I always forget to take them on walks because I'm used to the cats that will just use a litter box.
The landlord did the weekend get together thing but there wasn't anywhere to put the pizza so it's just on the ground đ
Tessa invited her two best friends over and they all did the smustle in sync đ (Also of course I forgot to change Lucy out of her halloween costume)
Got Tessa a violin at the end of the round, she seems to like it!
Now time for Checo and his new family:
Checo ends up actually being the stay at home parent since his business schedule is more flexible than Jodie's job.
Jodie brought Dustin Broke home from work, who I put in the law career despite him not going to university... (I didn't really think about it when I fulfilled the want for that job lol)
What are these attractions (whatever you call them) đ Mary sue is already cheating on her husband with Jodie's brother, now she wants Jodie's husband??? Also last time I checked both of those men were straight đ

I started off with a birthday party for the twins, and all the guests flocked to the garage lol
I got them to come inside with the cake. somehow they all just ignored the screaming toddler đ
Quintin, honestly...could've been a lot worse (gestures at Ottomas twins)
Yardley got mostly Nina's genes so he just looks normal lol
Speaking of Nina, she sadly missed the party because I forgot her work schedule, but at least she got promoted!
I had to make an expansion onto the house to give the three boys a bedroom (despite being very large this mansion somehow doesn't have any spare bedrooms) but luckily they had plenty of money for renovations.
I did quickly have to hire a nanny and oh my god was she annoying! Every time I'd try to have the parents teach one of the boys skills or like put them to bed because they were really fucking tired, the nanny would notice their small amount of hunger need and carry them downstairs to the highchair. She also way overstayed her work hours, like she was still there far after Nina had returned from work, and I kept trying to dismiss her only for her to be too busy doing something with the kids to be interacted with. I was so annoyed I forgot to take any pictures again until the end of the round đ¤Ļââī¸
Here's the few I got:
I bought a play table so the boys could bond (otherwise toddler siblings don't socially interact with each other at all, in fact Ian Burb has a negative relationship with his twin sister because she tried to huggle him and he said no because they barely knew each other đ)
Nina taught Quintin to walk! It's the only skill I was able to get done this round due to the obsessive nanny. (Good thing I play with a long lifespan, I can't imagine trying to do all that in 4 days)
We end off the round with Halloween night! Here's the boys after trick or treating, Malcolm is ready to go to sleep lol

John has been wanting to become friends with Brandi, so I had him call her to chat.
I don't know if it's a romantic thing, or he just wants to be friends with the other parents in the neighbourhood, we'll see what happens...

I don't remember if I've mentioned it before, but on the Jacquet rounds Gilbert was kinda flirting with Jennifer...They got pretty far but she refused to woohoo (pretty sure it was a bug but I decided story wise she felt guilty going that far) and now that I'm back with the Burbs, Jennifer had some wants to interact with Gilbert.
I invited him over hoping to just do friendly interactions or only do romantic stuff when John was off the lot... (Also one of Gilbert's side chicks as a walkby I'm crying)
ACR had other ideas...
Wanting to get Lucy away from the drama, John takes her out to buy a Halloween costume!
But back at home Jennifer decides fuck it and woohoos with Gilbert đ
The next day John invites Brandi over and Dina as a walkby being attracted to him???
Well...all that drama will have to wait for round 5 cause it's the last day of this round, Halloween!
