UMI NO OUJI-SAMA

“Then I am pleased to meet you, traveler. My name is Morisawa, Chiaki. And I’m pleased to meet you. It is not every day we get travelers from far away visiting somewhere as close as this.” There were fans… But not really a ton of people that would engage in conversation with him at least. 

“That is right. Singing and dancing, a little bit of acting. On televisions, screens, stages mostly. Our school has a curriculum based around the development of these skills. We even have those that know how to make clothing and performance costumes. Producers. Event planners. Well, people practice skills related to those trades. It’s not the most… Ah, normal of educations, but it is rather quite rewarding I can assure you! As for myself, I am part of a group, yes. Ryuseitai. Each group tends to have an ambiance or theme that they like to portray through their performances.”

     “ m-mori...sawa! “ he pronounced the other’s name slowly, carefully, fumbling over it a bit until he got it right. “ y-yes! i am from very far away! very verrryyy far away! “ he replied, smiling at the other.

He knew he shouldn’t really be out on the beach so late, but no one was there and that was why he was out there. Settling down, he curled into a ball as closely as he could with his long legs. He grumbled for a short moment, feeling his eyes well up with tears. He dug his blunt nails into his arms before stretching out suddenly.

“Ah, fuck! Damn it, why’s it gotta be so easy to be overwhelmed?” He was clearly upset as he stretched out, plopping his back down against the sand. He knew he was going to hate the feeling of sand on his neck in a moment, but he could care less. “Fucking fuck.“

     he had returned to the beach after another day of fun on the land, a bit tired but still happy. assuming no one was around, he uncovered his human disguise, revealing his dark grey skin and long tail that stuck out from his backside. he took a big stretch out with his arms, and sat down next to the tide. he was a bit hesitant to return home, knowing what he would get for sneaking out again was a scolding by his older brother. perhaps he should just sleep on the beach? but he might be discovered in his sleeping state..

michitaka begins his work by grabbing the nearest bowl- fear of any curses all but momentarily thrown out of the window in favor of saving aleph’s favorite vase. deft fingers begin to pick up larger pieces of broken art, all focus on that for the time being; any answers could be given while he worked. 

( god, he couldn’t bear the thought of aleph’s face seeing the vase in this state. )

“ ah, yes, an artisan is a master of a single craft, or many- so i would be requesting a master for the art of kintsugi to come repair this. or at least salvage it. ” he replies, hoping that the answer would suffice for now before pushing on, “ i don’t know how long it will take to find one, and if i must i will do it myself. ”

antique bowl is set aside after pieces are collected, and michitaka is quick to get on his feet; with the goal of sweeping this up in mind. “ may i ask you stay here and make sure no one walks in and on this mess ?  ”

it was unlikely that someone would mosey on into the store right now, but one could never be too sure.

     “ k... kintsugi..? “ he said the word slow, letting it roll off the tongue. it felt and sounded weird when he said it, but when the other said it it sounded perfectly fine. yet another word to add to his database. “ so this.. ‘ master ‘ would be able to help the vase? “ his gaze turned towards the bowl that held the fragments of the vase, staring at the smaller pieces of what was once a beautiful work of art. he had only been staring at it, and wanted to touch it to see what it felt like, but his clumsiness had caused him to trip and knock over the pedestal of which it stood. he was still rather upset for breaking such a beautiful vase, but at least he felt comfort in that it could be fixed.
