Seeing "Venus" and "Junon" in person was possibly the highlight of my trip to New York City. It was like seeing a celebrity in person. I was actually starstruck. There are so many details in these garments that I'd never noticed until they were right in front of me, like the sheer number of beads or the way the iridescent embellishments reflect purples and greens between the whites and blues.

I would absolutely recommend this exhibit to anyone who can go, not just for these pieces, but for the way each section works to create a cohesive vision of the "garden" these "sleeping beauties" inhabit. Not only do you see the pieces, but you are immersed in their story through sound, touch, and smell. It is exhilarating. When I left, it was like getting off a rollercoaster: I wanted to go again.
