“You have to ask?”She summoned her keyblade, swinging it through the empty air before resting it on her shoulder’s mirroring Arke,”Why would I be here if not to train?”

“What did you have in mind? Sparring? Holograms?”She hoped he wouldn’t say magic training.

“Good!“ Arke laughed, “If we can show the Master that we can grow on our own, then maybe he’ll finally let us off this world.“ He replied, and then stroked his chin, “We definitely need to work on our Magic, but our core could also use work... so some sparring would be beneficial too.“ 

As Arke spoke, Nova walked over and picked up one of the wooden Keyblades that had been thrown aside, “Core training is boring! Let’s go visit a Hologram World!” He slung the wooden Keyblade over his shoulder as if mimicking his older brother, “Fighting Heartless is more fun than each other!” “Training is not a game, Nova.“ Arke slowly shook his head, “You have to take it seriously! Fighting Heartless in the Hologram Worlds is training us for the real thing, so you need to start treating it like the real thing.“  “Hey! I totally do!“ Nova retorted, “I take training real seriously!“

Arke somehow doubted that. Which was why he was usually reluctant to let his little brother train with him... not just because he treated it like a game, but also because he’d rather Nova not train at all. He didn’t have a Keyblade like they did, so as far as he saw it, Nova didn’t even need to train. 

“Then why are you here?”She teased,”Shouldn’t you be slacking off or something?” She finished pulling her hair up, having almost forgotten to do that in her shock at seeing the younger apprentice here. 

“He’ll be back eventually, don’t worry,”She said, patting Nova’s head,”Being a Keyblade Master is important work, he can’t just stay in this world all the time.”

“I wish he’d let us come too sometimes though….”

Nova opened his mouth to respond, but before he could say anything, a voice called out from the entrance to the Temple. 

“Hey!“ 

Nova jumped, and whirled around, just in time to see his older brother, Arke, approaching them. Arke had a slight smirk on his face, and already had his keyblade out, and draped over his shoulder. He approached the other two with a dedicated stride, “And here I thought you were going to slack off all day again.” “Well, not all day.“ Nova grinned. 

“Well,“ He looked at the two of them, “Since we’re all here, why don’t we get some training in before the Master returns?“  “I’m game!” Nova quipped. 

He didn’t have to wait long. Even when their master was off world, she would show up at the temple to train. She would just train what she wanted rather than what she was told to, and maybe have some shorter training sessions in general. While the cat’s away she did want to play, after all. 

She knew her training alone didn’t give her as much growth as when she was given instruction, but she felt it was important to try her best anyway. Especially with how hesitant Master Asho was to let her train under him in the first place. She wanted to prove that he made the right decision giving her a chance!

So, every morning, she pulled herself out of bed, grabbed some toast, and headed out. As much as she loved how pretty and scenic her home was, she always felt like something was missing while she was there. Like there was more she was meant to see, to do. But it was hard to focus on that this early. Especially, when the nice weather made her want to nap. Instead of jogging to the temple like she usually does, she’s been taking the opportunity just stroll, and get there a few minutes later.

Solei finally reached the temple, yawning as she passed through the gates. She stopped when she saw Nova, half way through pulling her hair up into a side tail, and couldn’t stop herself from asking,”Is Master Asho back?” Why else would Nova be around here?

“Not yet.“ Nova whined. He jogged over to meet her, “Jeez! What’s keeping that Geezer so long? I know he can go off sometimes, but never this long!“

        Kouki watched in aw, both worried and amazed. As he waited for nova to get were he needed to be he quickly picked up an empty bag. Hopefully this would be good for holding the rest of the apples for the food. “When ever you’re ready, just don’t lob them at my head please,” he chuckled lightly. Kouki crouched down getting ready to catch anything that fell. wether it be apple or Nova.  

Nova laughed at Kouki’s comment, “I’ll try!” 

He straightened up on the branch, and sucked in a deep breath. He didn’t realize how high up he was until now. Come on, Nova! Don’t chicken out now! 

He balanced his feet along the branch, and started to walk across it. He looked down at his feet as he went, carefully balancing himself... but before long, the branch started to bend...

“Whoa!“ He gasped, as he started to lose his balance. Luckily though, he kept his wits about him as he started to fall, and summoned his Keyblade! Quickly, he reached out, and looped the end of his keyblade around a branch, and looked down at Kouki as if he totally meant to do that, “Get the back ready!“ He laughed. 

Normally, Nova didn’t have time to enjoy the warmth of the afternoon sun though. Usually, he was busy training with the others at the Training Grounds. But every now and again, Master Asho would leave the world, and that meant a miniature holiday for him! Without Master Asho directing him, it meant he could slip off and relax before Arke found him and chastised him for slacking off. 

But... Master Asho had been gone for awhile now, and sleeping the afternoon away at the top of a hill was getting boring. So, instead of slipping away today, he decided to try and track down Soleil, and see if she had anything interesting going on. 

So today, he decided to stay around the Temple, and wait for Soleil to appear.

Hey guys! 

So sorry for disappearing for so long! Life got in the way, plus plans with friends got delayed, but everything is sorted now, and I can’t wait to come back to Nova! 

Oh!

So he DID have a keyblade.

Alice couldn’t help but feel sheepish for accusing him of not being a wielder. Her guilt only increased when he told her about where he was from and what had happened to him. It sounded…terrible and she couldn’t help but feel for him. So, he was trying to find his brother because the heartless took him? To her, that didn’t sound very good in the slightest, but the young wielder believed that the other would be able to reach his sibling. Lavender eyes watched as Nova had a moment to himself. She understood; he had just told a lot of personal things to an absolute stranger but maybe those things were bothering him a lot.

And he needed someone to talk to, possibly.

Before anything else, she wanted to apologize.

“I’m sorry,” she muttered softly, a a litter red from her embarrasment, “I didn’t mean to be so judgmental it’s just…r-really odd when a key blade wielder hasn’t joined a Union yet or doesn’t have a Chirithy.”

“And I’ll be glad to show you around and tell you about those things,” she beamed, “maybe the stuff I’ll tell you might help in finding your brother as well.”

Alice started to walk, leaving Annabelle on the bench.

“And don’t worry about Annabelle; she’ll find us when she’s done napping,” she said with a light chuckle before continuing on, “so, this place we’re in is called the waterfront park. If you keep going on the boardwalk that’s over by the stairs you’ll get to the lighthouse.”

Alice pointed out the places she described, so he could get the lay of the land.

“And for every new place we go, I’ll give you some info about the Unions,” she informed, “so, there are five Unions and each Union has a Union Leader. Master Ava is the leader of the Union I’m apart of, which is Vulpes. Master Ira is the leader of Unicornis, Master Aced is the leader of Ursus, Master Invi is the leader of Angius, and Master Gula is the leader of Leopardus.”

“As long as you’re sure it’s okay to leave her, then I believe ya!“ Nova replied with a grin. He obediently trailed along a step behind Alice as she started to show him around, but it was hard not to get distracted and stop every now and then to look around. 

He paused though, as she described the Union Leaders. Calling them Master caught his attention, “Wait so... there are other Keyblade Masters out there?”

Nova was walking down a dark, dirt road. It had gotten late, and he knew this was the hour that Heartless would be out in abundance, but he hadn’t found anywhere to stay for the night. 

He was just about to give up, and go back the way he had came, when he heard a sound. At first, it was soft and distant... but as he continued walking, it got louder and louder, until he recognized it to be music. 

Nova paused at the side of the road. It looked like there was a campfire burning slightly off trail? He turned and started off towards it. It sounded like someone was playing music over there? 

     “Your odd but very funny,” he chuckled. He wasn’t really sure what a temple was but there was a lot in the world he didn’t get. “Ah well if you think you can. just be careful i’m not very strong so I wouldn’t be able to carry you into town,” he shrugged. He knew his limits though he could probably manage. Not having to take someone to a doctor would be best.  

Nova put a hand on the tree trunk, and looked around for the best place to start climbing, “Don’t worry! I climbed trees all the time back at home!” 

He spotted a good place to put his foot, and used it to help hoist himself up towards the lower branches of the tree. Nova grabbed onto the branch, and pulled himself up, before he continued to climb. Good thing no one from back home was here to see him, or else someone would be yelling at him to get down by now!
