Throughout all the scenes in season 1, we’re following Angel Dust’s perspective and how he navigates life working for the Vees. Season 1 was exclusively following the lives of the residents of the hotel. Val is intimidating in every frame he shows up in, Vox too during his appearance in the poison sequence. During the dressing room scene, the perspective is at Angel’s height to make Val seem huge and overwhelming. Val is always framed as this looming dark presence.

In season 2, we’re now following the Vee’s (mostly Vox’s) perspective, and they think that shit is hilarious. Vox could barely stop laughing long enough to say “It’s not funny anymore”. The perspective of the abuse is from a camera in the room, mounted high above both Angel and Val to make them both seem small. Vox sees the abuse as Saturday morning cartoons bc he views neither Val nor Angel as a threat. He only felt the desire to speak up about it bc it’s hurting their business with Angel being their star client.

Obviously we knew before season 2 that Vox didn’t give a single flying fuck about Angel getting beat, but now we know he and the other Vees view it in the same light as a funny fail compilation
