âThat is not how it works!â âYes it does!â âNo it doesnât!â âYes!â âNo!â âYes!â âNo!â âYes!â âIt is scientifically impossible!" âYou're scientifically impossible.â âWhat? No, you're just wrong!â The two small children had been arguing for the past half an hour with no end in sight. Corazon, who had been trying to break them apart, was now sweating bullets as he stared at the small test strip. He had taken the test just to humor the younger girl thinking nothing would come of it and the debate would be settled. That he was just under the effects of a stomach bug from Lawâs cooking. An unfortunate effect of being on the run and letting the 13 year old boy cook.Â
He reached down and grabbed Law by his head, the small boy struggled before going slack as he saw the same thing that was causing so much discord. It was positive. âNo. No. Just no. I refuse to believe it.â Law's eyes narrowed at the two lines that stared back at him. âThen let the doctors do a hcg test and you'll see!â the girl, Blossom said, hands on her hips glaring up at them. The argument resumed and continued all the way to the first hospital that the trio would stop in their journey to save Law from his disease and as they waited for the test results.
âCongratulations! You are pregnant!â The kind looking nurse relaying the test results chirped up at them, sending both male into a stupor and the girl into a maniachal fit of laughter. âBy the looks of it, your blood work estimates that you are 2 months along.-â the nurse continued powering up a machine and gently guiding the flabbergasted 9 foot male to lay down on the medical recliner.âLift your shirt please.-â Blossom, still giggling, did all the work lifting Corazonâs shirt and lowering the manâs pants to let the nurse do her job. âThis is going to be just a bit cold but lets just see how the baby is forming, yes.â
The gel was colder than Corazon had expected it to be. But the undeniable fact that there was a tiny fluttering heartbeat in his abdomen placed in a part of him that against all logic should not be there was true. He stared at the small picture that a photo den den spit out. The picture small in his hands he looked to both children he had dragged with him on his mission to save the small angry boy that reminded him too much of his brother. One looked like the rug had been pulled off of his feet and reality was no longer making sense and the other was just cooing at the picture that each of them had been handed by the nurse.
What in Davy Jones hell was he supposed to do now? He was biologically male and therefore it was scientifically impossible to get pregnant but there it was growing inside of him, on the run with two children, had to now take vitamins for said pregnancy and that first hospital had been a bust and of no help for Law. âRepeat it for me kiddo. Your family heirloom that you got after your mom remarried and your grandma from that marriage passed away lets you just do this???â the 26 year old repeated again. âWell not just men but like anything but yeah!â The girl said poking at the fire that they huddled around waiting for their supper. âIt's not true. It's just not possible.â Law would mutter out. âJust- just explain it in full detail for us kid.â
Taking a deep breath Blossom continued âSo after my mom got thrown out because of getting pregnant with me because of-â Blossom paused looking up at Corazon then to Law as if asking for permission to continue or not. When Corazon nodded to the younger girl she continued speaking. â-your uncle⌠Mom got together with my dad. Uh and they had a family business where primarily the matriarch would help the livestock of farmers or women get pregnant. Because I was my daddyâs only child when I was growing up grandma would tell me everything about the family business. So that when grandma passed I could get the family heirloom and continue the family business. We made enough money to live really well.â Blossom noddedÂ
âGrandma said it was possible to help male specimens get pregnant. Because our ancestors wrote about it but she said that it was super hard and she wasnât strong enough to be able to do it.âÂ
âYeah because theyâre male there are no reproductive organs to allow it! None! Nonexisting!" Law screamed out from his hunched over position.
âYou're nonexistent!" Blossom retorted back.
âWhat does that even mean?â Law yelled back
âStop. Stop. Blossom continueâŚplease.â Corazon picked up Blossom putting her on his lap. One of the few moves that would always calm the younger girl down.
âFine. I was already working for 3 years when Doflamingo came and kidnapped me. In the name of keeping the family together. And that was 1 year after the mourning period so grandma died when I turned 6. Yeah? âŚyeah. So I don't know. It tasted gross and it looked funny. I read the journals that were passed down to the new person that got the heirloom and it said I could so I did. I did most of what they said I could do. I help girls that didnât want babies not have babies. The ones that wanted one but couldnât get one, got one. And farm animals that couldnât get babies got babies. I donât see the big deal.â Blossom finished her retelling as if that solved everything.
âIt is a big deal because Corazon is a man! Man canât get pregnant! It just does not make sense!âÂ
âYou donât make sense! Plus it's Corazonâs fault for drinking the spiked alcohol!"
âWait, why is it my fault!â
âBecause you were not the one that was supposed to get pregnant you were not the target! Dummy!â
âWhat do you mean!â âWho was the target?â Both Corazon and Law shouted at the same time.
âDoflamingo of course! It was going to be a great distraction! He was going to get impregnated by a random person after drinking the wine I especially prepared and put in his room. Everyone would be panicking and focusing and that after finding out and you two would get a big head start on this! But nooo Corazon just had to swipe the spiked wine and drink it. And then sleep with that white dressed man! And now he is pregnant with a troublesome individual.â
â...Thank you?â Corazon responded, not sure how to react â..Wait I have never entertained sleeping with men before.â
âOh that is just the natural process. First you get hit with the blessing then you cement it because your body screams at you then BAM baby inside of you the only thing that I kinda messed up is how long the pregnancy was supposed to last. That part has always been tricky for me. It was supposed to be a normal pregnancy to give you guys more time but I think you got the pregnancy timeline of a sheep. I'm sorry about that.â Blossom bowed her head in sorrow, gently rubbing Corazonâs abdomen.
âThatâs what you are sorry about! Not the part where you drugged him or that he is pregnant because of your stupid impregnation powers!âÂ
Corazon slapped a hand over Lawâs mouth, shutting the boy up. He could practically feel Blossomâs eyes narrowing and her hands clenching. He desperately needed a cigarette or a drink. The journey he was on was going to be a difficult one.
And a difficult journey it was but somehow his boyâs life was safe now that he ate the ope ope fruit. Blossom was safe on an island far away from this mess with his baby girl. Soon Law would leave this island and reunite with them and if everything went well his subordinate would reach the small island at the same time and all three would be taken into marine custody. Where they would be sent to Sengoku and he would take care of them. He could truly die at peace now. Corazon coughed up one last time before his body finally gave in and eternal sleep came to him.
In a certain marine headquarters office, marines stood on the outside scared for their lives as they did their best to keep a small girl and an infant on third of her size inside. A simple task but if the marks on the marines skin could attest it was not. She looked like a sweet kid until she wasnât and she broke cadet Jerry's arm, Ronaldâs knees were busted in, Yuki's nose was broken, Reinaâs hair was ripped out of her scalp. Amid who had been making fun of his fellow coworkers for not being able to handle a 12 year old girl got the worst of it all in the men's eyes. That same little girl punched where the sun didn't shine knocking him down then she took her foot and smashed it right in screeching âWho is a little girl now!âA shiver ran down their spines just remembering and they all collectively mourned the lost children that Amid will never have. âLet me out!â Blossom would yell banging on the door, a baby strapped to her chest with a floral shawl. Each bang made the men outside shiver and cry. No one was sure how long the door would hold as they could hear it splintering.Â
The collective scream that they all let out when a small part of the door gave in and cadet Oliverâs calf was struck would make you think that a raging beast was in there but what admiral Sengoku found was nothing of the sort. Just a very furious and strong 12 year old that looked ready to murder or stab someone. Sengoku closed the door behind him taking a deep breath, setting a big plate of cookies and water down on his desk. The letter he had received when she was brought in stated that the young girl liked sweets and that they should be present along with a cup of water as a peace offering if he wanted to have any civil conversation with her.Â
âSit. Contrary to how you have been treating my men, we don't want to harm you or the infant.â Sengoku started Blossom eyes narrowed up at Sengoku weighing her options before settling to quickly nab a cookie off the plate carefully tasting it. Vice admiral Garp could be heard disciplining the injured marines outside the office. âYeah sure because a bunch of marines rolling up to a defenseless girl and baby when they are returning from the market with guns in their hands yelling at her and this is after they had been stalking said girl and baby doesnât scream out âsuspicious people that want to hurt you.ââ Blossom retorted back, hopping onto the sofa chair thing that was in front of Sengokuâs desk, readjusting the sleeping infant so that she would be comfortable. Sengoku sighed, rubbing his temples. The report he had received from cadet Thomas, who had fractured ribs courtesy of the girl in front of him, had not mentioned that his men had been stalking the young girl. Her full background report had stated that she had lost her parents at the young age of 4. Her elderly grandmother had died when she was 6. The uncle who had been taking care of her was killed when the Donquixote Pirates kidnapped her when she was 10. And who knows what the poor girl went through with those people. She was finally free and then she got stalked again, her weariness was completely justified.
âI am sorry for their conduct. They should not have done that.â Sengoku bowed his head in apology. Blossom just kept munching on cookie after cookie.
âWhat do you want from me anyways.â Blossom said in between cookies.
âYou may not know this but commander Rosinan- Corazon⌠he sent a request. He-âÂ
âYou can say his real name. I know Corazon wasnât his real name, I know who he really was. He spilled the beans a long time ago. And that they are probably dead.â Blossom cut Sengoku off, hopping off her seat to grab an empty bottle and a bag filled with powdered milk out of the coat she had taken off to get a better range of motion, her voice tight.
âRight⌠he left a request toâŚhe asked that I take you, the baby and Law in for a while if he ever died. Just until you and Law were old enough to stand on your own two feet. He asked that I give you all new identities and check in from time to time to make sure you were all safe.â He held his gaze steady as he watched her make a bottle of milk. Testing the temperature on her skin and sitting on the couch unwrapped the baby from her chest. The movement caused the infant to let out cries of protest and fuss about but a quick adjustment and a bottle to her lips silenced the baby yet again.Â
âNormally I would not even entertain the thought of honoring the words of a man that left the marines and stole a devil fruit for himself. But that boy⌠That boy was like a son to me.â Blossom could feel traitorous tears welling in her eyes. Tears that she refused to let out. âWe couldnât find Law. It is likely that he is still alive and out there.â Blossom's head sprung up quickly looking at Sengoku searching his face for any lies and finding none. âI can provide a stable home here at base and keep you and that baby safe and when you are older-âÂ
âI am not joining the marines. If you were about to say a stupid thing like that you better not im not joining this stupid cult of an organization. You are not going to take her away. I am the only family she has left and when Rosey is old enough we are leaving and we are going to go find Law. Corazon would want that, he would want us to stay together.â Blossom cut Sengoku off again, hugging the baby closer to her while glaring at Sengoku. âVery well.âÂ
Sengoku tried to strike up more conversation with the young girl using tips from the letter Rosinante had left him. It worked well until she seemed to realize that he knew too much about her and she shut down any further conversation. Even Garp had a hard time talking to the young girl. When it grew late he personally escorted the young girl to his house on the base helping her settle in before returning back to his office.
âIts a damn shame that she doesnât want to be a marine.â Garp told Sengoku, munching on some rice crackers. âThink we could trick her into becoming one?â
âDid you not see what she did to one of my most promising marines? That boy has multiple fractures just because he tried to take the baby away from her.â
âExactly! She's got good bones and good fists! Perfect to beat some sense into marines and capture pirates!â Sengoku could only shake his head.
Smashing his third bottle of wine Doflamingo read over and over the report Vergo had sent him. Not only had his brother utterly betrayed him and forced him to kill him. But now he is hearing that while he was away he was happily playing family with his sweet little cousin, Law and some broad. That his brother had had a child with said women. Oh he needed to find a way to get his cousin and that baby back to his side. It just wasn't fair that little Cora got all that happiness and he didnât.
this rough drabble is just for you @gav-san and @physics-of-one-piece was the inspiration
Also the drabble was getting to long so I posted Cora's letter separately.
