Last year we started our online poetry journal and published 47 poems on our old blog. Those amazing poems were then collected into a digital volume that is available for download!
We’ve been on hiatus but Oatleaf is back! The journal is now on Substack and submissions are open!
Hello poets!
We have been on hiatus for a few months but we are excited to announce that Oatleaf is ready to get back up and running again.

Hello! It’s been a little bit and we have a short announcement. Due to unexpected life events, Oatleaf Poetry Magazine will be going on hiatus. We want to say thank you to our readers and contributors for getting involved and supporting the magazine during our first year in 2025. As of right now, we are unable to dedicate time to Oatleaf while also working on our own individual projects and dealing with personal matters. We hope to return but we are not sure when we will be ready to. Thank you again to all the poets who made Oatleaf’s first 10 micro-issues possible. We appreciate you.
Changes to Oatleaf Poetry Magazine
Hello poets!
This year we are going to do things differently than we did in 2025.
Last year we were publishing poems weekly in a blog format. Each month was considered an issue or micro issue. We then shut down the blog site and shifted issues to a downloadable digital format.
In 2026, our publishing schedule will work differently. Submissions are still open on a rolling basis!
Issues will be published during March, June, & September.
An end of year volume (compiling the three issues) will be released in October.
November and December will still function as our awards season to nominate six poets for the Pushcart Prize and announce one poet as the winner of the Oatleaf Poetry Award!
As a two person team, we are looking forward to these changes. We are also looking forward to reading your wonderful poetry submissions!

Oatleaf’s Pushcart Prize Nominees 2025
Hello! We are excited to announce our Pushcart Prize nominees for the year of 2025! Below are our nominees!
Fur Malorum by Sia Moon
Inversion by James Lilliefors
Post Mortem by Peter J. King
The @ by Elana Lavine
The Melting Clock by Claudia Wysocky
White Sails on the Shores of Ithaca by Benjamin Parker
Congratulations to our nominees!
Next month we’ll be announcing the winner of the Oatleaf Poetry Award! One of our six Pushcart nominees will be receiving our annual in-house poetry award and we are excited to make the announcement in December! See you then!
Hello, poets! Happy November!
We’d like to thank all the wonderful poets who contributed to Oatleaf in our very first year. We are grateful to be able to provide a home for your poetry.
We are excited to read through new submissions for future issues!
